i actually danced on stage for this. you can see me waltz across the stage at the begining of this. i was really trashed... but atleast i made some memories... as a total jackass.
the guy in the blue and i somehow got away with all of this by merely just being backstage. modest mouse's tour/crew manager went out there and danced with us. i was suprised we never got stopped, but i'm just assuming that's because we didn't jump up off the stage and appeared to be backstage legitamitely.
GOD this guy was ridiculous, I thought he was never going to get off the damn stange. This show was one of the best times of my life, even though I thought I was going to get the shit punched out of me by all the hipsters.
Dont get me wrong i love modest mouse, but who the fuck stage dives and shit at modest mouse. They make beautiful melodic music. It's not a fucking rave, or hardcore show, or a Korn show. I went and saw them for the 2nd time in march and people were jumping and pushing eachother the whole time...even during Bukowski which is ridiculous. Last time i went in 2004 it was more intimate and no douche bags were being childish on stage. Grow up.
That's what happens when an obscure indie band has a hit record. The crowd changes. Compare a death cab for cutie show in 2000 to a death cab show today.
I know, it's the new Emo now. Emo is dead now, the "hip" thing today is to be "indie" when half these kids don't even know the meaning of indie and the Roots of indie, like Beulah, Built To Spill, and all that stuff. Man i miss those bands.
i agree it has changed but they played alot of their old stuff 2! and only i and 5 more ppl wer jamiing 2 it.but i got 2 admit it was i pretty good show. i saw death cab in 02 and yes it has changed
this was the greatest show ever--i drove all the way from friggin miami for it. my buddy took a monster stage dive during "spitting venom". does anyone have video of that?!
i thought i was alone on driving up there but it was worth the trip! i flew 2 cali in 05 2 see them on the down load festival. this was better! rock on man!
