That is a really cool interpretation. I wonder what kind of piano Mr. Kempff used. On the one hand, contemporary concert grands didn't differ too much from today's pianos, but on the other hand, this recording sounds _really_ oldfashioned as far as the sound of the instrument is concerned. It might be that the recording distorts the sound. Or it might be that Kempff used a historic piano ("hammerklavier"), but period performances weren't really established at that time.
same here, but this is SO FAST! i've never played at that speed before... i can play the triplets/quavers rhythm for this movement (i find it quite easy), but not for the 2nd movement. (the 6 to 4 beats)
I am currently working on this piece.....Its prestissimo tempo requires grouping notes into motions......like a 747 jumbo jet---if you can get it off the ground it becomes much more nimble and horizontal. Daniel Barenboim really nails this on in my opinion.
I think what was most difficult for me was keeping it at tempo when you have triplets in the right hand and quavers in the left hand - always got caught in a bit of a muddle until the (cantabile) part!
im a noob to this youtube replying stuv'z but anyway im 15 now, i forget this song, and i gave the music back to the person i lended it from... and it is in F minor, for people who don't know how to read the title xD...lol
nice

wow that was AMAZING you did a really nice job bringing out the melody instead of trying to show off the fast part.. very nice.

Your analogy is funny. However, I do see your drift. It is fun what's you get going with this piece. Daily performer of this work.

and yea, the triplet/duplet is hard to comprehend until you get it atempo, then it is fairly easy to play.

I like it in this version. It is fast but not too like richter's version.
@ Vernic4...it is possible...play only with your fingertops...it will work
samira2307 3 years ago
