  • I think he fucked up at 3:27 and just tried to flow with it

  • 0:32 D.O.A by Jay-Z!!!

  • Holy shit, JM is the shit, you can hear in the beginning "Death of Autotune" by Jay-z

  • Comment removed

  • 1:58

  • Me as a musician: That was absolutely brilliant!

Me as a scientist: I hope that vulture really had it coming.

    Take it easy, I'm a musician : )

  • Holy shit Carlock is a tight drummer.

  • I love John Mayer, but was that shit at 3:28 really necessary? Good thing Keith Carlock is a monster player and can make up for how much the groove just totally died during Mayers beat box. Lame.

  • I love when he puts that octave effect on his solos!

  • watch the full concert on my channel

  • the ending was really smooth..... love his improv.

  • hahaha john's so high that's holland for you

  • haha at 1:40 there's a girl putting on her bra

  • ur d best john,

  • :20 John's cover of Inner City Blues

  • @MusicByGregRitchie its actually a jay-z tune

  • @TheBigdummi yeah its DOA after 0:30, but from like 0:20 - 0:29 he's playing the riff from the Inner City Blues demo he did

  • WTF? Why is he playing it like a rock song? It's a bluesy pop song cmon John ur better then that

  • I'm in love with girl at 4:45...

  • @nicollas1011 he had the flu

  • Thumbs up if you think John Mayer was hungover

  • The improv. in the beginning is so sick. I hear him using a riff from Jay-Z's D.O.A in a higher key. It's really sick.

  • the female backups killed it for me... wheres Harris?

  • 1:17 and not the girl. . .

  • i want these tabs! :)

  • @ 3:27, is it me or he just messed up the vocals completely and made the save of the century?

  • @15000volts Not really :) He has done some beatboxing in songs before!

  • I like the nod to Jay Z at the beginning.

  • damn are those the ultimate ears moulder in ear earpiece mayer is using?!

  • That intro has the best beat ever!

  • love the d.o.a at the beginning

  • 1:59 .... Holy shit

  • funkiest vultures version on youtube!

  • Comment removed

  • 3:27 wtf?

  • the wah part of the outro solo was awesome............

  • go check out John Mayer's song with Jay-Z called D.O.A. the first riff is exactly the same haha

  • think he might have gotten into the nose clams before this video

  • this guy has some balls!

  • now, where the fuck is Steve Jordan?

  • @OneTwoZeroSix c'mon the drummer at this gig did also a very good job, i like it.

  • the beat boxing sucks twice as much because if you take that out, this is the best version of this song by a mile.

  • 5:42 what fuck is that??

  • @iago6839 fucking trippy shit aye

  • I also want to go to pink pop of hot girls ;

  • in the beginning sounds like he's playing DOA by Jay-Z

  • i would say by the girl's reaction to his beat boxing, he could fart into the mic and they would go apeshit. he's just got it like that

  • john clearly doesn't give a fuck what people think. hell ya

  • seriously john..WTH at 3:27?? that was embarrassing!!

  • thats certainly a possibility, i dont think so because the band seemed to follow as if it was rehearsed.

  • D.O.A. intro!

  • intro Jay-z music , awesome!!

  • god i cant breathe

  • is it just a coincidence that every girl in that crowd is incredibly hot?

  • @ThePoswald Nah, that's Holland!

  • @mtllc555 i'd say Europe... American's aren't used to that haha

  • @mtllc555 i'm moving to Holland!

  • Comment removed

  • @mtllc555 Nah, 00:25 that's Holland

  • @ThePoswald 0:25 for example

  • @ThePoswald lol visit serbia and you'll redefine hotness..

btw the back vocals are fucked up the whole concert.. they are too high in the mix and not singin the right notes plus they all (john too) sound like they are struggling with the volume on the in-ear monitoring cuz they are singing bad (to high in pitch)

good thing he's a guitar master lol. :)

  • @OMERTA011 eeehh no?? the vocals are good and if there were bad, you would hear the autone pop in like in the live in L.A version of...damn i can't remeber the song xD

  • @1Guug lol how cant you hear the bad notes? i dont think there is autotune in this one.. this is from netherlands or something.. its the dvd that was sold after the festival by the ppl who organised it.. anyhoo, live in LA had post production and/or overdubing, its all raw over here..

    peace

  • @ThePoswald 0:40 think again ;)

    hahaha

  • @ThePoswald I should take that as a compliment cause I was on screen lol

  • @ThePoswald you haven't check the first 10 seconds then......

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePoswald 1:00 - that is not hot

  • @ThePoswald You cal 0:25 hot?

  • @ThePoswald i wouldn't call ALL of those girls hot

  • @ThePoswald just look at 0:27 :D

  • @ThePoswald ... => Welcome to Holland! ;-)

  • @ThePoswald 0.25; need i say nemore

  • @ThePoswald

Hot? I think you never been in Poland. (:

  • @ThePoswald i may have to disagree 0:25

  • @ThePoswald Especially the girl at 0:25

  • @ThePoswald I guess hot girls like the blues.

  • @ThePoswald We must be seeing completely different women.

  • @ThePoswald you mean like here 3:43 or 0:39

  • Keith f&cking Carlock on drum lady's and gentlemen..

  • dude...guys calm the hell down about him beatboxing it was for like 5 seconds and he was just having fun u pple freak out if theres anything out of the ordinary

  • 3:27, im sorry, that was pathetic.......i like john mayer but come on! really!?

  • Call me crazy but I thought the beat boxing was a great idea. He's not really great at it but the first bit of it was really cool

  • this version is sick

  • damn john mayer beatboxing is funny as hell

  • Sickness: 5:23 ... 5:30. like, DAMN

  • ma vai a fare il rapper invece che tenere la chitarra in mano pellaio...

  • @wallawallomane

Non capisco la questione del rapper,fa scena è vero, però suona incredibilmente bene!

  • 1:58 the girl is shakin' her boobs ... look at mayers facial expression.

  • Great version of the song...totally different from original

  • he definitely had ganja before the concert

  • Look at the back up singers face at 4:34. "What the fuck"?

  • XD he was sooo high lmao u can see it xD

  • he was soo baked

  • thats not the trio....

  • @gnrmanmatt who said it was?!

  • @triondrummer trios better

  • Thats the problem of playing big gigs... you screw up one time, they've caught it on tape hahahaha

  • @vitor0692 LOL yea. Before you do it, you think it'll sound awesome. After you do it, the bass player glances at you and is like "What was that?"

  • 1:11 that bottle is going to fall due to excessive groove going on!

  • Where's the fat chick dancing?

  • daaaamn that chick at 1:27 is sooooo damn hot!

  • @TheRJSMusic and so is that one from 3:44!

  • how fucking cool is the intro...it sounds like some dude stalking a girl home and he thinks he's being all sexy

  • @flightbyshred It's a takeoff of D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) by Jay-Z.

  • @DavidCasper thanks mate

  • such an incredible guitarist

  • I think people started to think " mayer is so awesomme..he can't be human" so he thought " ok...im gonna screw up just to make people think im mortal" and then he came with that beatbox shit. dont you think?

  • the best concert of John Mayer its better than Live In LA concert I think

  • 0:25 cutest girl ever. hahahha

  • Comment removed

  • I was diggin it then he started fucking beat boxing and ruined whole damn song. I thought he was having a seizure. Don't get me wrong, He's great but come on BEAT BOXING.

  • @flynstl1 completely agree w you

  • @flynstl1 have you looked at his face yet.

he was stoned as fuck .

look at his eyes man their all fucked up.

to him that sounded totally awesome :P

  • @xxxm0ris If I remember correctly ( I was at this festival) he was pretty ill that day. Had a form of food poisoning.

  • @LAICK lol no man he was damn stoned.

you can see it in his eyes.

if he had food poisening they wouldn't have let him on stage

  • @xxxm0ris Actually they did let him onstage. He subsequently cancelled both his other performances a day and two days later at the Heineken Music Hall. You can also hear pretty well that his singing is a bit off, particularly on the high phrases.

  • @LAICK he only had 1 preformance he didn't have three man.

no one preformes 3 times on pink pop man cause pinkpop has 3 top bands a day.

1 was john mayer metallica and 1 was foo fighters.

john mayer was only once booked for the festival.

john mayer was way to expensive to preform 3 times it would cost pinkpop way over the budget.

  • @xxxm0ris lol.. right on brother! If that's true then give me some of what he's smoking!

  • @flynstl1 haha !

come to holland man it's legal here =D

  • @flynstl1 somebody call amber lamps!!!

  • @flynstl1 ahahaha i agree .t people in europe love house music he seems a little wacky / cheesy in this performance

  • @flynstl1 ikr the beat boxing was stupid

  • @flynstl1 To me, it sounded like he screwed up and had to save it somehow. The beatboxing wasn't very well made so to speak. :P

  • I really like how Mayer changed up the settings he used on certain songs. ES-335 with overdrive instead of a Jeff Beck masterbuilt with the heart decal and a cornish fuzz, instead of a slightly gritty katana boost, he's overdriving vultures and using a pick now.

  • i did not he can BEATBOX!

  • does anyone know wat effect hes using throughout the song for the main riff, is it just a light distortion or fuzz

  • @pbmusic100 probably a marshall bluesbreaker or a tube screamer.

  • @pbmusic100 He's using a Keeley modded bd-2. i got one and the tone's exactly like that. I'm sure he's using his Katana and maybe an 808 too.

  • at the end of the intro solo it sounded a lot like DOA by jay z lol

  • @Softsillmusic yep, he played a show with jay z

  • Heard this song so often I lost count years ago, but still I get goose bumps listening to this masterpiece!

  • I think he should probably get that speech impediment checked.

  • DOA FTW!

  • That lick he plays around 0:47 is what he did in the Jay Z concert

  • 1 dislike....

  • does anybody know what kind of guitar effect he kicks into at 5:18? sounds like an octave wah of sorts.

  • @cgrabeman Just a cry baby wah wah

  • @cgrabeman I think it's a dunlop cry baby octave wah :)

  • hm nice concert John! Really bad though i bought tickets for the concert in HMH and that concert was cancelled because you smoked so much weed you could not even get the next plane back home. Get back to the old stuff John, i beg you. Go make blues again, and not that silly stuff like edge of desire and friends, lovers or nothing. Get back with Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, back with J.J. Johnson and David Ryan Harris, and last but not least: Robbie Mcintosh. Keep yourself where the light is

  • @TheRJSMusic

I like the "Where the Light Is," allusion; but you gotta respect some of the stuff he's put out since Continuum. I honestly love Continuum and Blues/anything that incorporates Blues. Idk what it is but when Blues is implemented it really just gives a tune life. But on the flip side; I think Battle Studies was an album he made for fans and for himself. If you watch interviews of him talking about it he talks about how B.S. is really about the melodies and how you have to stick to..

  • @TheRJSMusic them. I think Battle Studies was an album for him to say that he can do it. The songs aren't as bluesy as his past works and I don't think he intended it for that. Those melodies can't be embellished the way Continuum melodies can and I think he did that intentionally. B.S. songs melodically plotted to be difficult to play and sing. I just think it was a concept album for him to prove his song writing ability. Cause all in all, B.S. has some gems. For one, Edge of Desire, that song

  • @TheRJSMusic is a Haymaker. We all have our opinions and you may not like it and there's no problem with that at all. I can respect that. I just think you gotta give him credit for making an album that isn't so much his 'regular,' style per se, and is more proof that he can break barriers and make an album of a different genre and still dish out tunes that are way ahead of the curve. Like I said, Edge is a gem, along All We Ever Do; F,L,o,N; War of My Life; and even the radio tunes. He's a G

  • @TheRJSMusic and we havent seen the last of his Blues thats for sure. Look up his videos from his Hotel Cafe performance back in Jan. of this year. Thats more directed towards pure acoustic/folk stuff. He can hop through genres and make great tunes. I prefer Blues, but he can really write songs and he proves that all the time. Like I said, I respect your opinion; I just think you should give some songs, ESPECIALLY Edge another listen haha. They really are gems, (sorry for the rant btw! peace)

  • Damn alot of cuties at this show!!! ; )

  • @Coolrockndad dude john mayer is performing........

  • i'm guessing he fucked up the 'wheels up' part a bit and decided to make it seem like a part of the song, he's quite good at bringing mistakes in and making it seem intentional. great version, should maybe have turned the backing singers down a bit in this concert

  • @ajfindlater

Nah man. I'm pretty sure it was intentional. Near the end of his Battle Studies tour when I went to his concert in 8/22 and 8/24 he did the same exact thing with the beatboxing and all. At that point he had already rid of the backup singers and rehired Bob Reynolds for sax again and a trumpet player :D

  • 1:57 bounce bounce bounce

  • he looks as high as a kite in this vid

  • @klown7 that's cause he is

  • crazy ass outro

  • i watched the whole gig in pinkpop, he seriously has a different guitar for every song. I'm so jealous!!

  • @BluesGuitarSG6

He has over 300 guitars (A) Can you imagine how many songs he should write to make a song for every guitar :|

  • Who's the one choch who disliked this? Really?

  • Wow, holy crap! John was on fire, and the crowd was electrified! That there was some HOT PINK!

  • Haha i was there in the front, man that was soo sick

  • @The07855 Lucky! :)

  • that guy on 3:50 must be Jenson Button....

  • Gezz..extremely sexy version of Vultures! *drool*

  • Hahah that Little D.O.A. is pretty awesome!

  • Damn, the crowds in Europe seem a tad crazier then anywere else...

Me parece ileal, falso, y mercader.

  • i hate the background singers they suck..
