You played this excellently - but at some points the right hand seemed a little heavy. I loved your interpretation, though, and the left hand was really clear, which was great.
Personally, I think that this piece is not a scherzo and not a show piece. It's fairly difficult, but I think it should be more "happy" and not all juiced up on coffee and energy drinks.
I think if it were slowed down a bit then there wouldn't be so many missed notes and sloppy bits.
Just my opinion though. The technique has a lot of promise.
personally, i think this song could be played softer. i don't play much, but this song to me seems like it should be slowed down just a smidge, and played slightly softer. ^_^ good job tho
when people apologize for things that are obviously not wrong, seems like they're fishing for something complimentary or an impressed and humbled response..
so. great playing. yeah... maybe your technique needs work. but maybe you could be less selfhumbled and more confident in your abilities and talents.
I very often write similar descriptions. Check out this comment on one of my videos from a fan trying to explain why musicians see flaws in their playing more than others.
@S3Suggs"I get why he does it. I'm an artist, and I say the same kind of things. Everyone else thinks I'm insane for saying that, or that I'm trying to be rude to artists who aren't as good, but it's not true. What the artist sees of his/her own work is much different than what everyone else sees. The artist sees every little flaw in their work or performance, while the audience usually sees the big picture. I'm not saying it's right to condescend your own work, but I just thought I'd comment."
@kylelandry I agree with you. As a visual artist I'm plagued by little flaws that only I can see.The viewer sees the whole picture, while I see the pictures within the picture.
wait are you 14 or 47 lol...im not the greatest fan of debussy actually. but i really like this piece, i did my first performance of it this past weekend
awesome! poor audio though :|

I really don't think he was fishing for compliments by apologizing. Japanese people apologize for everything... it's just a part of their culture.

I love the dynamic changes you give to this piece. It really does bring out the life in the images given to your audience.

You have a strong technical grip on this piece. Really well done. Loved the entrance of the left hand into the melody, great characterization.

am i the only one who plays that final "a" with my left hand?? look at my video.
chrisflemming 2 years ago
maybe, but in the music the last note is written for the right hand.

I'm pretty sure less than 1% of the people on this planet can play that piece. You did just fine.

I like your interpretation. The technique seemed at times a bit lacking, but perhaps you were just rushing a bit? Anyway I enjoyed listening.

Nice technique especially on the cross-overs and one of the best of this peice I have heard.

Man, great playing!
I practice hard on pieces of Claude Debussy and also Satie.
I'm getting closer and closer and I'm almost at the moment that I can fully play this song.
But to get to the point.
I did this with your help.
This inspires people, but also shows that there are still talented musicians in the world.
You learned me the basics.
You can start easy, but if I can't get further I watch your video.
So, thanks.

you can afford to play a lot more lightly. you're very heavy. work on nimbleness i guess; your fingers seem to get caught on a few of the runs
