i have a question. in the first part of the warm up you were talking about extending the fingers. I have extremely...well not extremely but i have small hands...my fingers cant stretch btwn the 11 and 16th fret....it doesnt work...should i try mayb stretching my fingers more before playing or should i just drop a fret?
Sorry for the rather late response, if you're starting the exercise it will take some time to build up to. Do the stretches on higher frets first, then work your way down. You can even start the stretches on higher frets for an easier reach. If you have small hands, just go down as far as you need to warm up (especially with the last stretch)
Very nice! I'll definitely be using these warm-ups! I've never actually used warm-ups, so when I start playing, it generally takes me a while before I get into a good groove.
Also, when you hit the last note of each exercise, you look out to the left with an expression of, "I really want to be doing something else". lol
Sounds good, they should help! haha, you'll notice that the video cuts a lot, I break it down because I don't have the skills to deliver it in all in one fluent take
I haven't listened to a lot of meshuggah but I hear theyre really good. I listened to bleed, it's got a lot of gallop pick lol. Don't they use 8 string guitars though?
i play bass and i applyed these warm ups to it :P and i must say the first part helped my bass playing much more then my guitar playing :P odviouslys not 100% same tho since i lack the e and B lol
That's kind of like the Dimebag warm up only he does trills with each finger instead of 1-2 it's 1-2-1-2 your good you know what I mean.

It's a good warmup riff because it mixes notes a little bit. Hope it works for you!
