This is a masterpiece after the River!! Great follow up! Used Cars, Nebraska, Johnny 99, Atlantic city,..when it came out, I couldnt wait to take it home and play it. its been a fav. ever since
"like if he stood there long enough, the dog'd get up and run... struck me kind of funny...hahaha yeah me too...at the end of every hard earned day, we find some reason to believe-and denial is 100% effective-really good tune
this album is awesome, every song. I play the harmonica now, thanks to "Nebraska". So many great memories from this.....my best friend Mark and I sang Johnny 99 on the subway just for fun one day.....New York is great in that way
i LOVE this song...he is my "Beatles"...everytime i see him i end up weeping thruout the whole concert...what can i say the man is gifted and we are blessed
@bradydikasteify He's not only the last hero of modern music; He's also the last hero of ancient music, and all the other kinds of music, including the music that isn't there.
This song comes at the end of the Nebraska album, which is just about heartache. I think it's no coincidence that Bruce puts this song at the end. I mean the characters in the song have no reason to have faith, but for some reason they do. I believe the message is just about us, we have shitty jobs, and terrible prospects but we hit the alarm clock every morning, we don't quit. There isn't even really a chance of hope we just keep going. I love Bruce Springsteen, cause his stories are my stories
I was just listening to this album this morning and I realized how brilliant this album really is. Every song tells a deep story and almost all of them are sad, dark and depressing. But I think that's one thing that makes this album so great. You really feel the emotion all the way through. I think that this song ("Reason To Believe") Is a perfect ending song and gives us some hope and ends the album on a higher note. "At the end of every hard earned day people find some reason to believe."
@luciemelanie25 ..Abbey Road was, in my opinion the best Beatles album; They showed a real sense of connection to their passion..Bruce has done the same here.. Both show their true love of music, and a message they believe can be achieved through it.. Both being their best work, respectively..

Bruce is the prophet of this modern era of antiheroes. He's probably the last hero of the modern music :)
