For $150 more, you get a better display with ips so you can see the pictures from every angle, Internet capabilities, a movie machine which can be hooked up to an HDTV, and a word processing computer. I bought my grandma the Sony digital frame it was cool but I got that and so much more.

@iDiggMGL yes I'm "incredibly stupid" because I'm not giving into all the gimmicky bs apple vomits out, it's pointless to call it a mobile device with out 3G cause then you aren't mobile, you're sitting still in a wifi hotspot and 16GB is nothing, that would be filled quick as hell with music and movies let alone apps (which is the only advantage of getting a apple mobile device) and if you're SOOO concerned with being able to do more than why not just skip the iPad altogether and get a laptop

You have to buy memory sticks) that does one thing, over something that does the frame thing better than the Sony frame and does a lot more than that with a built in storage. An iPad is just a useful without wifi as a notebook, but I'm more concerned with portability. Why would I get a 8 pound notebook for word processing, when I could get a 1.5 pound iPad.

The iPad is not pointless you just would rather see all of the things you'd consider bad. The average weight of laptops is around 5-8 pounds. This is something if you have to carry that and college books. Dude, I had 9 hour school days last semi, carrying a 4 pound Mac and a college books all day was hard.
