This is the second video where there's some reference to lizards. Can someone point me into an explanation as to why lizards are mentioned in a couple of 4D calculation visualization? Also, this one was excellent; the sphere projection with the moment of sphere projected onto a circle really helped as the video progressed to out and in and out again balloon world.
@cyberdaemon actually it's theorized that we are constantly moving along the 4th dimension, that's why everything moves and changes. so if you were to look your 4th dimension you'd see you as a cell on one end then you as an old man on the other end. so the 4th dimension actually IS time. just not in a simple way like everyone wants to think
Time was once considered the premier definition of the 4th dimension as seen in the Theory of Relativity, modern science has changed. Now, the fourth dimension is considered to be a spatial, geometric idea analyzing vectors in a shape.
@FODOR00 im fully aware of the modern definition of the fourth spatial dimension. while it is what you said its also considered to be a space that we are constantly moving across. just as the 3rd dimension would be time in the eyes of a 2 dimensional civilization if there were 3d shapes that were being "scanned" by the 2d society making it so that everything is moving and changing
Of course we need to be present in the part of the higher level of dimension in order to see the dimension itself. From a paper which is two dimensional, we can not understand what is third dimension. That means we need to enter into the 4th dimension itself, but our science is not even advanced enough yet to pronounce clearly what exactly is 4th dimension.
There are lot of theories what is 4th dimension, and I am even not sure if this video is correct about 4th dimension. From the side of math this video is correct, but I am unsure if 4th dimension is that simple. In practice we can never be sure what is 4th dimension, because we can never produce a "sample" of the 4th dimension.
@FODOR00 yes this is very true. i was merely stating the belief that is held by a lot of people including me that portrays the 4th dimension not only as a unit of distance between 2 3 dimensional planes AND time. but you are right there's no way we can know for sure

It's called a spacial dimension...

i thought the 4th dimension was time :)

@tim0090 Time is no longer considered as dimension.

@Natasmai56667 But that would make our world a 3D comic book where every fram is already written down?
cyberdaemon 10 months ago
@cyberdaemon that's essentially what the idea of time is. that's a pretty good way of putting it too.
