This movie got such an unfair reptutation. If there was no Halloween 2, this wouldn't be so bad. It would make more sense. John Carpenter wanted to have a different sort of plot for each film.

I was more disturbed by this film when I first watched it than the others. In fact, although the actors are strictly B list, I thought it was a good story and I was with it until the women turned into a robot at the end...my faith had been shaken a bit by the old guy turning into a silly putty man at the end but I was prepared to tolerate it until that s*it!. The trouble with this film is it is called halloween, which is confusing, and it has a massive anti climax. Other than that its ok.

I loved this one. It was intended for Halloween to be the title for a series of films based on the holiday, like an anthology film. Halloween 3 failed at the box office so they decided to go back to Michael Myers. This also marked the last Halloween film with any involvement from Carpenter and Hill.

I actually rather like this film, because with its ludicrous plot points (robots, a stone from Stone Henge getting nicked, said stone reacting to a flashing TV ad) it actually takes itself dead seriously! There's no tongue in cheek lines to be found!

On a more serious note though, the film does legitimately boast an excellent synthesized theme song, the introduction is especially good.

And we then have the legendary 'STOP IT!' part, which was deservedly high up on your top 10 list.

@Highice007 Yes, Halloween is here in the UK, as with all Europe I guess, but it's nothing major unlike in the US, it kind of passes us by mostly. I think Carpenter produced the 2nd film, although I may be wrong.

The ending was supposed to be an homage to the ending to Invasion of the Bodysnatchers because both films took place at Santa Mira, California. I think the original Halloween is the best though, but this one is great.

Great review! wish I could say more for the film, It was on TV near Halloween. What pissed me off was when the guy tried to phone up the TV company at the end to get the Advert taken off air, each time a channel turn the advert off, that prick kid in the mask would switch channel as if to say "I want to see what happens next ". Yeah you want to see what happens next on the advert that has been pissing people off through the whole film.
