let me correct that, 5:54 and when he comes back his sidekick has disappeared, and then a mass of DOOR-TO-DOOR SALESMAN appear. Then they chase poor tom for miles and miles. lol
This movie got such an unfair reptutation. If there was no Halloween 2, this wouldn't be so bad. It would make more sense. John Carpenter wanted to have a different sort of plot for each film.
I was more disturbed by this film when I first watched it than the others. In fact, although the actors are strictly B list, I thought it was a good story and I was with it until the women turned into a robot at the end...my faith had been shaken a bit by the old guy turning into a silly putty man at the end but I was prepared to tolerate it until that s*it!. The trouble with this film is it is called halloween, which is confusing, and it has a massive anti climax. Other than that its ok.
Isn't it funny. The song says "8 more days till Halloween." This is the third film in the series, so add the next 8 films after that (including the upcoming H3 film), you have 11 movies, which is how many films there will be by next year.
I always liked Halloween 3, I watched it really young, it was twisted and weird, sort of creeped me out, stuck with me I watch it every halloween, I love the opening credits, its so 1982 with all the synth
I loved this one. It was intended for Halloween to be the title for a series of films based on the holiday, like an anthology film. Halloween 3 failed at the box office so they decided to go back to Michael Myers. This also marked the last Halloween film with any involvement from Carpenter and Hill.
@FreakinSweet86 It could have worked if III wasn't so completely terrible. There is nothing good about this movie. The Jingle is Garbage, the plot is trash, the special effects look horrendous and the acting is crap. If they would have made a good scary movie the concept would have been fine.
Mate you have got no taste in movies the one's your saying are rubbish are classics halloween series is awesome ALL OF THEM. You said hils have eyes is rubbish mate you need to get your act together. You say big trouble in little china,The exorcist,Tcm,and others are rubbish THERE CALLED CLASSICS. Every single crappy movies you say are the worst are the other way round...So THERE
@youngfilmmaker100 It's supposed to be "THEY'RE" called classics, not "THERE" called classics. If you want to grow up to be a screen writer, you need to pound proper grammar into your head right now. Best of luck on your ambitions, I hope you it all works out for you.
ah, you missed one plot point though. His "sidekick" was turned into a robot while they were kidnapped by the creepy old Irish man. Tom saves her without knowing she's been converted.
@solidfreak123 Good point, I guess John Carpenter & Debra Hill were way over confident that Michael was a thing of the past and fans would accept different stories & ideas in future installments, but all the fans wanted was more Michael.
I actually rather like this film, because with its ludicrous plot points (robots, a stone from Stone Henge getting nicked, said stone reacting to a flashing TV ad) it actually takes itself dead seriously! There's no tongue in cheek lines to be found!
On a more serious note though, the film does legitimately boast an excellent synthesized theme song, the introduction is especially good.
And we then have the legendary 'STOP IT!' part, which was deservedly high up on your top 10 list.
@thedarknight307 thats what they were trying to do with the films. the first two were suppose to be about michael and then the rest were suppose to be about something else.
This is what they had planned originally... in each Halloween movie, something different would happen. Since of the bad reception though, they brought Michael Myers back to life. I will admit though.... This movie is fucked up.
This is not a Halloween Movie its myersless which means that this is a STUPID! but original concept i did like the music STOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPP IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tom Atkins rocked hard in 'Night of the Creeps'. H3, though, does not "thrill me." By the way, those corporate suits were modern-day Druids attempting to sacrifice mass quantities of children to their overlord(s) or whatever.
A real Hallowen Turkey in every way, how the late Moustapha Akkad, director of the great 'Lion of the Desert' could take on this project, along with John Carpenter as producer, is beyond me.
Do you really have halloween in the United Kingdom? And if so, is it just in England or all the United Kingdom? Cheers, Highice007 P.S. Carpender had some things to do with Part 2 of the series and it was supposed to end there.
@Highice007 Yes, Halloween is here in the UK, as with all Europe I guess, but it's nothing major unlike in the US, it kind of passes us by mostly. I think Carpenter produced the 2nd film, although I may be wrong.
@TheDarklord0211 No, I didn't think Halloween was observed in the UK, at least not like it is here. I don't think many people are posh. I've acctually chatted with several people from the UK, and study British History, but Halloween never came up in conversation. Guess I'll know a bit more when I move there December of next year.
@TheDarklord0211 No, I didn't know, but I'm delighted to be educated that it is so. Now I can look forward to my move even more. Thanks for the education
@Highice007 Well, I know it originated with the celtic wiccan peoples of the British Isles, but I didn't think that people dressed up in costumes and went door to door looking for sweets. Should I be getting a bowl of sweets ready when I move to Glasgow in 2013?
Damn.. I actually think this is the second strongest film of the series, next to the original. It was a scary little tale that was entertaining. The rest of the series followed the tired slasher formula. I'd give it a 7/10 (the original getting 10/10). The rest of the Halloween series, 5 and under.

@crazywillie You posted this comment a year ago but I just came across this video lol. I agree with you that Halloween III is a great movie and the ending is good but could have been better. The ending was supposed to be an homage to the ending to Invasion of the Bodysnatchers because both films took place at Santa Mira, California. I think the original Halloween is the best though, but this one is great.
Great review! wish I could say more for the film, It was on TV near Halloween. What pissed me off was when the guy tried to phone up the TV company at the end to get the Advert taken off air, each time a channel turn the advert off, that prick kid in the mask would switch channel as if to say "I want to see what happens next ". Yeah you want to see what happens next on the advert that has been pissing people off through the whole film.
