  • good video

  • ok...bush mite be an ass but that was kinda harsh

  • "It will be Four Scores and Seven years before..." lol.

  • meaningless war you mean a war the ended slavery is MEANINGLESS

  • Lincoln didn't intend to end slavery. In fact, he tried to pass an amendment that would keep slavery legal in the South permanently. The root cause of the War of Southern Independence was the right of secession, which Lincoln opposed.

  • Hmm, secession wasn't a good reason to go to War??? Keeping the United States together as one Country, as our founding father's intended it to be wasn't worth going to War??? You're right about not intending to end slavery, the South's purpose for secession was that Lincoln did not want Slavery to be spread out into the new territories in the West. I'm not sure where your thinking is on your statement of "meaningless war", but it doesn't sound if you are thinking logically.

  • The Founding Fathers seceded from Great Britain. They signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution based on the idea of secession. Many descendents of the Founding Fathers, such as Jefferson, Henry, and Washington, fought for the Confederacy. The constitution was ratified in Virginia, Rhode Island, and New York based on the pretext that they could secede. The war destroyed the American idea of secession, so I would say that it was pretty meaningless.

  • I can see some of your point, with the exception of the last 2 sentences. There is no support in the history books or in the constitution that our founding fathers would have allowed or approved of states seceding from the union. Lincoln didn't want the war, but he had no choice. It was the only way to keep the Country as one. You can't compare that war to iraq. That's comparing apples to oranges. As someone who was born in the South, but grew up in the North, I can say he made the right call.

  • If they never declared war, both sides the of the states would have never existed because of their weakness against other countries.

  • That's completely ridiculous! The United States survived two wars with Great Britain despite having the Appalachians as their western boundary. Why do you think they would have lost another war now that the United States had expanded westward. Also, could you provide any evidence whatsoever that Great Britain or any other power intended on invading either the United States or the Confederacy, or are you just pulling sentences out of your ass?

  • meaningless war you mean a war the ended slavery is MEANINGLESS

  • Its completely true, if they were to split there would be huge financial problems and political problems between the south and the north. The constitution was made for the Whole country, even if the south were to copy its like other countries tried to do in there future, it would have failed and caused disaster.(Done with knowledge and critical research).

  • you tell em lincoln.

  • oh no!, the spam comment says were going to die! aaaah.

  • LMAOS XD

  • lol

  • Best thing ever. It needs more views.

  • i stood up and applaused this is so great.

  • They are very similiar actually, just not in positive ways.

  • GO ABE!!!!!

  • Honest Abe only ended slavery as a political move, he honestly didn't care, but at least he was honest and up front about it.

Bush is against slavery, he just likes creating surfs, which are basically slaves who think they are free.

Both presidents are federal government overlords, but at least Lincoln wasn't pure evil.

  • Lincoln also got rid of the Geneva convention during the civil war

  • bc of his views abe would probaly b a democrate if he was alive today so i nvr got y republicans compared themselves to him abe= good republican bush= crappy ones that unfortanily we only have bush ones left

  • nice!

  • Good old HONEST ABE!

  • I will take a dead Lincoln over Bush any day. Isn't that said to say that.

  • PWN3D

  • Lincoln Suspended Habeas Corpus.

  • Unfortunately, that's true. HAving said that, the ends were far more justifiable than these ends (albeit not some of the means, like those used by sherman in georgia). But the intellectual level of the 2 isn't even comparable, nor is the agenda. But this is still quite funny. :)

  • Sometimes its a good thing to end Habeas Corpus. That is why the Constitution refers to as a privilege, it is not a right. The Constitution also instructs us on how and when it can/should be suspended.

  • I think that already happend, bush looks constipaded most of the time.
