The organ loft is a wonderful place to be! You're lucky the audio level did not overload. The instrument is so loud that Pierre Bardon is lucky not to be stone deaf after all these years! I nearly jumped off the bench on Grand Jeu.
Yes, the Grand Jeu is big there, but I did not find it unbearable in the loft as the sound is coming mainly from above my head. In the nave it does have it impact! Try visiting the loft at Notre-Dame Paris - now that can be quite deafening.
To both Tormus and Isnard: my most grateful thanks. Phenomenal stuff. Does anyone know if there is anything from S Gervais, Paris, on line? Another gem...
Thank you. I'm in France at present and will have some more offerings on other historic instruments when I get back. Don't know about St Gervais. Wonderful organ. Next time I go there I'll make sure I have my minidisc player at hand.
A truly stunning 18th Century masterpiece of an Organ by Isnard, surviving totally intact in its original condition to this day. The reeds are to die for. Thanks for posting this!
This is a magnificent organ and a wonderful performance from one of Australia's finest and most innovative organists who understands the beauty of French organs. What an excellent choice to play.

I, too, had not heard this music before. I enjoyed the video as well. Sound was a bit garbled so I gave you four stars.
Keep posting. I am a subscriber.

The Mini-Disc player was in the loft, not the best placement for a recording of such a large organ. Thanks for your rating.
