can tell you guys dont lift lol bench shirts up your lifts 200-300 lbs thats why they cant be used in in world comps , if its not raw it dont count ,Henderson is the current world record holder for heaviest drug tested raw bench press. Big James Henderson’s record setting lift was 711 lbs.[6] and was performed on July 13, 1997 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during an IPF/USPF sanctioned event.
@Cplxkid316 ----he did take 545 down all the way. That not good enough for you? I suppose you regularly do lockouts with near 900 pounds. Check recent BIG IRON videos, he took 875 down all the way and back up. 900 will soon fall also.
545 raw(easy) for a small 220 is beyond amazing! This guy is in a class with Coan,no doubt.. Please guys, can we get some raw squatting footage of Frankl??
Both the raw and shirted lifts are awesome. For those of you who don't like shirted lifting try locking out 900 pounds some time. It ain't all shirt.
Absolutely right. I didn't realize Frankl was this cockdiesel raw, thought he was just a gear master. This is nuts, he could beat the 198 pound bench record if he trained for it for a little bit.
I think the raw 198 record is 560,he could most likely break it..I believe he's around 220 in the vid.. The strongest geared guys are usually the strongest raw guys as well..
Uh, the strongest geared guys are often NOT the strongest raw. There are some guys who are good at both, but it's not that common. Hoornstra, Dennis Cieri, Rock Lewis, and Nick Winters all suck in gear but they make up a list of the best raw benchers on the last 3-4 years. Scot Mendelson is brutally strong and he's hit 1000+ in a shirt and holds the all time raw record, but he's an exception to the rule, not the standard.
Shawn Frankl is not made of people.

That 545 raw bench is a lot more impressive than the geared lifting....bet he could do 6 plates if he trained for it, very strong and nice lift.

Frankl happens to be one of the guys who is amazingly strong at both and that deserves a ton of credit. He truly is a freak.

@EricLilliebridge thats the shame of it 545 at 198 is great why put all that gear on it trashes your 545 lift
