so me not knowing much about bowhunting it seems that the most simple arrows are the best arrows please correct me if im wrong as im trying to take up the sport but the british government is very tight lipped about things as "sensitive" as these
for everyone saying that it is brutal that the deer bleeds out a good archery shot will kill a deer in a couple minutes if you practice a lot and take pride in your hunting this is what you aim for, this is not the case all the time but you can have a bad shot with a gun as well and the effect would be the same as a bad archery shot so its just a case of practice and the hunters knowledge of the animal he is hunting
This is a bunch of nonsense! Animals dying in each case, bow hunting requires much skill and sneaking. Animal has a higher chance not to be hunted than with a rifle. You are having fun shooting around? You shoot the animal with 100 meters and you named yourself hunter ? It's just execution and nothing more
slick tricks all the way....sharp, simple and affordable. In my opinion rages are way too bulky, and yeah they do cut a hell of a hole if you dont hit a bone on a mature deer. but id rather put the odds in my favor and not have to worry about failure. ive shot 4 yr old deer through both shoulder blades with my slicktricks. Also, as far as this whole razortip kick goin on, use your head...what the hell is that flimsy ass razor gonna do when you hit a bone? Great video..thanks for sharing!
i shoot a rage 2-blade never had a problem with then opening up i've never had a deer run past 50 yards when i shot them and the blood trail is amazing
Im thinking about getting the Tru Fire switchblade crossbow 125 grain what do you guys think? what are my other options for a good crossbow broadhead>
Arrows don't beak apart and fragment as they travel through the animal like lead bullets do right? Do i need to cut out the meat surrounding the arrow hole so i don't get little pieces of broadhead in my steak?
@Ryancandunk555 Carbon arrows fragment if they break.. For example, if a deer falls on your arrow and it shatters, tiny fragments of carbon may end up in some meat... Did you recover the arrow?
The wacem is by far they best broadhead on the market. It made bigger holes, penetrated more and had the least damage. I don't even need to change my sights when I put my broadheads on either. They fly perfect
i love the fixed blades better because you know what hole size it WILL make, as for grim reaper they such i shot a deer and not one of the blades opened up. lucky for my shot was a good one and the deer dropped only a short distance where i shot her at. any other place i would of lost her because of the broad head. I have never shot any animal that the hide was as tough as a steel drum but here in canada deer hide must be soft then in the states LOL.
for all you guys calling the guy stupid for shooting a barrel..hes testing the durablity of the broad heads to show you people that clicked on the video which one is better off. so before you start running your mouth about his "faggot music" and his barrel shooting. just think. with your little brain.
well i have a question please help. ive lived in colorado my whole life and never went hunting. i turn 20 tomorrow and am now wanting to go. i wanna get the PSE TAC15i crossbow. now id love to get an elk. what blade should i use? thanks
My buddy is going on his third deer with one tru- fire switchblade broadhead. I've been using rage three blade , and both deer I shot , only two blades opened I just placed an order for true-fire switchblades.
Muzzy 3 blade is my favorite fixed blade. Grim reaper my favorite mechanical. Rage are terrible.my uncle always shoots muzzy like everyone else he got us into muzzy. Well one day he borrowed a rage and he shot a nice buck, good shot to hit 1 lung but the arrow never came out because it hit the shoulder. I shot a nice buck with a muzzy bad shot hit the shoulder but even tho it was a bad shot it went right threw both shoulders and exited.MUZZY RULE and they leave a blood trail
@chunkyfather I agree piss on rage shot a big doe last night cut.her lung in half found it on blood trail and never found her . It deflected out the.belly for the third.time.on a deer.I recovered.other two nice video man slick tricks are bass just got a set
Excellent video... For those that say why shoot a rusty barrel? Obviously deer or elk ain't made of metal. If it performed well in this test imagine on game.. G5 all the way.. Fuck rage lost the biggest buck in nj
Only problem I see with this is that you didn't shoot any Muzzys into the barrel. Muzzy is more popular than many of the bh's you shot. It needed Muzzys to be a complete video. Other than that, good work. It definitely shows the advantages and superior quality of fixed-blade heads over that of expandables.
are you an idiot or something, why would you shoot mechanical broadheads into a trash can. what are you trying to prove. this is not a test this is a waste of arrows, broadheads and a 50 gallon rusty garbage can.
@bruceaustin2000 its just showing how durable they are........ you honestly think the shoulder of a deer or elk would be much different? Metal and bone are two very different substance but.... at high speed I'm not sure the arrow would be able to tell the difference.
just so you know on the rage 3 blade part all 3 blades opend.. so dont diss the rage you can clearly see all the blades opend the top one is just hard to see
@olred22re hey man just so you know im not trying to be a dick i just really like the rage and hate when people diss it. chek my channel out and sub please, i think youll like my channel. and have you tried the g5 t3 broadhead?
@thegreatdeerhunter No I understand man and no I cant say that I have tried the g5 t3s. I used the rage last season with success but I have swapped over to the grim reaper, the only thing that I have shot with them so far is a fox though so I will give them a whirl at deer this year. How are the g5 t3s???
@olred22re idk i have never tried them but they look like the rage 3 blade but with a better tip and stronger. ill prolly give em a try this year, you might want to check them out
@thegreatdeerhunter the blades may have opened but they had horrible penetration for how much they cost. A perfect example of market strategy zoned in on catching the buyer. Rage is NOT a good broadhead.
I suggest you reread the abstracts. It clearly states season for antelope NOT cantelope. And just exactly where ARE the fish you are shooting in that barrel?...heh
I'm prob gonna shoot the g5 strikers this year because I can get a pro deal on 'em. I have been shooting muzzy's. Wish they were in this test, would have been interesting.
very interesting video the barrel is like hitting a deer in its shoulder so yeah its good you use the barrel. To all the people bitching about this video are you mad cause he tested your broadhead and seen it was junk? and why would you put down a person for trying to find the best broadhead you should be thanking him and for all the time he spent... anyways thanks for the video trav
Pretty obvious who uses mechanicals. Yep all the people who are bitching and or trying to defend their little rage broadheads. Good old American ego. I always trust fixed blades, this extreme test prooves them. Any broadhead will work on a 100lb Alabama deer, Rage included.
His arrow left that bow before his drop away rest was out of the way.... Hah. Around 5 min mark. I use the G5 Strikers... Heard good things about them. I like the outcome
@MawnteyCarlo You are wrong the g5 expert rest he is using is made to drop before the fletching comes through noo drop away besides the limbdriver drops completely at the release of the string, g5 experts are a roller no friction on the arrow it rolls on the shaft of the arrow until it falls away!
What is the point of shooting into metal? Not what any are made for? Nor is it what the deer are wearing this year. All you did was ruin the arrows and heads -dumbazz.
You been listening to too much headbanger music and damaged your little brain.
Nicely done, I especially appreciate you sharing given the BUNCH of money you had to invest in this little effort. Figure new arrow and tip on each shot must have run you $20-$30 per release. Thanks for sharing!

hey man just sayin i raise hogs and hunt them n that one on the right either recently went feral or is domestic wich if it is domestic slaughter it correctly so it has no chance to increase he population i know that sounds heartless but hogs are destructive creatures
bloodrunner 2 blade. or Rage 2 blade. best on the market. why would you even test on a metal barrel. what kind of animals hide is that thick. this video shows inaccurate results of what the broadheads do on animals.
only if you dont have a clue how to broadhead tune.
muzzys are the best and i have tested them for over 15 years on real animals. from bear to boar to whitetails and mule deer. if you dont have a clue, then dont comment.
only if you dont have a clue how to broadhead tune.
muzzys are the best and i have tested them for over 15 years on real animals. from bear to boar to whitetails and mule deer. if you dont have a clue, then dont comment.
some said that it made mechanical broadheads look bad, but the Grim Reaper is mechanical and that looked good. i know what mechanical im taking in the field and it sure isn rage.
Try a test that works for both broadheads not a one sided test that makes mechanical broadheads look bad. That 3 blade rage, or any other REAR deploying broadhead will leave you red road and FLY STRAIGHTER ( the main feature of a mechanical broadhead ) than a fixed. Don't get me wrong a good fixed blade is great, but when the mechanical bh's are shot at animals they work very well.
@jlidral well bud I personally like my slick trick 100gr thats shown in this video and i've recently shot the Muzzy's MX4 and was really impressed but if i had to chose i'd take the slick trick broad heads
@archeryhunter24 Rage Broad Heads haven't displayed great penetration characteristics and if you check Cabela's reviews many are having deployment and penetration problems with them consistently. The G5's and the Slick Tricks have been top choices with confidence that they will cut through on contact unlike having to rely on the mechanical broad heads. I would hope that great rage advertisement won't lead to a bunch of wounded game and misled hunters. God Bless.
@T1984G yup i shoot the t3 havent shot a deer wtih them but i hate the thought of leaving my deer up to the function of a 2cent peice of rubber like the rages
Man I wish I had that kind of money to afford all those broad heads and shafts. Thank you very much that was and is the best video on broad heads I have ever seen. Very Informative.
Personally, I have killed deer with G5 Strikers, Rage 2 blade, WASP (boss & Jackhammer), Grim Reapers, Rockets, Tekan II....They all will do it, when it needs to be done...But NONE of them leave a hole like the two blade Rage...AWESOME. I am hunting Buffalo next month...using Slick Tricks for first time....it is all about palcement....Hell you could killem' with a field tip.
Great video....Thanks for taking the time and money.....Dont listen to the detractors and their negativity.....Looking foward to the part 2 and maybe Wasp Jak hammer, thunderheads etc....Nice sound track too
I would have to say the Wac'em. I use these broad heads and they are the best i have ever used when it comes to durability. I shot a deer and after the pass through it bounced off of a rock it was still in good shape
this video shows the a lot in my opinion. yeah i dont plan on hunting steel drums anytime soon. but i know if i do which one work best for it. and if does not fail there and gets better penatration on the drum then there is no guess work on what it is going to do on a deer. great video.
It's very sad that there are so many morons out there who just can't [nor want to] see, nor understand the full potential of important things. like these broadheads being demonstrated like you did.
I hope you continue to share your valuable tests with us.
hey man thanks for the reveiw! i am troen between the 4 blade slick tricks of the g5 striker i herd both fly like feild tips i rely dont know wich way to go. whut would u recomend between the two?

bloodrunner 2 blade. or Rage 2 blade. best on the market. why would you even test on a metal barrel. what kind of animals hide is that thick. this video shows inaccurate results of what the broadheads do on animals.

slick tricks 100gr magnum. cant go wrong at a good price.

only if you dont have a clue how to broadhead tune.
muzzys are the best and i have tested them for over 15 years on real animals. from bear to boar to whitetails and mule deer. if you dont have a clue, then dont comment.

good test man , it shows how weak the mechanical broadheds really are ,need i say more??oh ya can we get one with a muzzy?

Nice vid man, thanks for taking the time to show the results. Sometimes it cool to see what each can do before making a purchase.
mikejoannR1 1 year ago
Try a test that works for both broadheads not a one sided test that makes mechanical broadheads look bad. That 3 blade rage, or any other REAR deploying broadhead will leave you red road and FLY STRAIGHTER ( the main feature of a mechanical broadhead ) than a fixed. Don't get me wrong a good fixed blade is great, but when the mechanical bh's are shot at animals they work very well.
MrNatron08 1 year ago
Absolutely a great video shows the true side of mechanical broadheads. this only proves the best way to go is a fixedblade its fail proof.

@BowtechmanTC what fixedblade broadheads do you reccomend? i am looking for some new ones

Innerloc coped really well.. So did the point of the striker and wac-em. The shaft on the other hand for the striker... xD
Slick Trick had like no flaws O.O
That's quite impressive.

3 blade r good but 2 blade is where its at...every time i shoot a deer they leave me a blood road!!!!
txklint 1 year ago
@archeryhunter24 Rage Broad Heads haven't displayed great penetration characteristics and if you check Cabela's reviews many are having deployment and penetration problems with them consistently. The G5's and the Slick Tricks have been top choices with confidence that they will cut through on contact unlike having to rely on the mechanical broad heads. I would hope that great rage advertisement won't lead to a bunch of wounded game and misled hunters. God Bless.
T1984G 1 year ago
@T1984G yup i shoot the t3 havent shot a deer wtih them but i hate the thought of leaving my deer up to the function of a 2cent peice of rubber like the rages

Man I wish I had that kind of money to afford all those broad heads and shafts. Thank you very much that was and is the best video on broad heads I have ever seen. Very Informative.
DagoBowHunter 1 year ago
wow never thaught the rage would do that! I wonder what they would do against a deer's bone, im woried!
MrMudMan07 1 year ago
@MrMudMan07 dnt worry bout rage deployment...ive shot many deer with rage 2 blade and every time it left a road of blood...rage 2blade is great
txklint 1 year ago
Misleading... the barrel & the fruit suffered fatal wounds.
chrisaalexander 1 year ago
Personally, I have killed deer with G5 Strikers, Rage 2 blade, WASP (boss & Jackhammer), Grim Reapers, Rockets, Tekan II....They all will do it, when it needs to be done...But NONE of them leave a hole like the two blade Rage...AWESOME. I am hunting Buffalo next month...using Slick Tricks for first time....it is all about palcement....Hell you could killem' with a field tip.
XxXpAiNtBaLlKiD44XxX 1 year ago
Great video....Thanks for taking the time and money.....Dont listen to the detractors and their negativity.....Looking foward to the part 2 and maybe Wasp Jak hammer, thunderheads etc....Nice sound track too
norskihead 1 year ago
I would have to say the Wac'em. I use these broad heads and they are the best i have ever used when it comes to durability. I shot a deer and after the pass through it bounced off of a rock it was still in good shape
MattCHollis1988 1 year ago
rage 2 blade best for hunting idc about what this vid shows
bucksk8 1 year ago
this video shows the a lot in my opinion. yeah i dont plan on hunting steel drums anytime soon. but i know if i do which one work best for it. and if does not fail there and gets better penatration on the drum then there is no guess work on what it is going to do on a deer. great video.
bwilson7000 1 year ago
I'm just a noob, but was the wac'em and maybe the striker the best?

Thank you for the excellent comparison tests!
It's very sad that there are so many morons out there who just can't [nor want to] see, nor understand the full potential of important things. like these broadheads being demonstrated like you did.
I hope you continue to share your valuable tests with us.
Best regards!
