motograter was good with ivan however they originally carried darker sounds which i preferred to his version of motograter, which couldn't last more than about 2 years ghost machine is good but they could have been better if they wouldnt be just a side project for ivan, as for 5FDP i think they may be doing a coheed and cambria move and dying out due to low record sales, coheed's latest album i was unaware of until this morning...

@JonSpam07, as much as I love Ghost Machine I also think Ivan Moody has been improving with each band he's in. FFDP is definitely a heavier sound but War is the Answer blew me away because of the story told throughout each song. If you listen closely it's a portrait of today's soldier. My Own Hell - PTSD. Walk Away - The tension in relationships after returning from overseas. Far From Home - the hopelessness during a dark hour on post. Please give it another listen in this context.
Such a shame 5FDP don't make music like this. Ghost Machine were amazing - so much amazing melody, singing, lyrics and meaning. 5FDP seems like random screaming and aggression from what I heard, though I like The Bleeding and Walk Away.
Don't know if any1 else realized this yet but this song is not called "Burning Bridges" it is called "Dose". The album is available iTunes, it's the only song in my collection of 300+ Bands that has a "times played" count of over 450.

My fam met Ivan in 2007 at the Derox festival sense i was around 11 years old he took us to the VIP booth and hung out wit us.. it was freaking amazing he is such a cool guy. When he was on stage he took off his 5fdp shirt and had one of the roadies run it up to me lol it was amazing. Nowdays when we go to 5fdp concerts we hang out wit the whole band lol its pretty saweet they made my mom the officail 5fdp kansas promoter lol
yeah I didn't know that he was ever called ghost until I started listening to Motograter. If u like Ivan's vocals in this band you might like them in Five Finger Death Punch or Motograter if u haven't heard either of those bands before :)

No fan of Ivan would even bring up this shit he's doing with that emo/scene band. Motograter and Ghost Machine are the only bands he was ever a part of.

@floods Although it's not a reference in itself, the band Slipknot, if you like their music or not, is chock-full of talent. Go listen to the actual guitar work some of those guys are capable of. Jim Root specifically. That's the tall lanky guitarist. Or listen to any of the drumming. Check out the Clown's side project as well, very good stuff. Called To My Surprise. If you honestly think that there is no talent there, you are wrong.
Never said anything about Slipknot. Great band and excellent musicians especially Joey Jordison. It was more in the context of you bashing the lyrics to a FFDP song saying there emo when Slipknot also has lyrics you could "classify" as "emotional" if you don't think so you need to listen to Snuff, Vermillion, Etc. @floods Emo is a genre, an attitude, that is present in music. Emo isn't what it used to be. When emo was first around I remember growing up and having some friends listen to it. It was punk, like, real punk not this shit they call punk today. Punk is dead. Now it's more loose, and the genre fits any band that is touching a very pessimistic and ultimately negative "my girlfriend broke up with me, woe is me" type of vibe. FFDP does that.
So um Minor Threat is emo? The Sex Pistols are emo? The Ramones are emo? Bad Brains? Black Flag? That is punk, REAL punk and its something very far from "emo". A form of music is only "dead" when its forgotten and none of those bands will ever be forgotten just like FFDP won't be forgotten to some people. Once again all forms of music have emotion. Be it "my girlfriend broke up with me, fuck the world or eat a babies face". That is ALL an "EMOtion".

so he went to Motograter, a much much heavier band. And he let loose with it and it was amazing. Motograter is my personal fav of his bands. then he went to ghost machine. Much more elegant and softer than motograter but nontheless an amazing band. and now hes in Five Finger Death Punch. and I don't see him leaving this one anytime soon, hes too good of a fit for them.

both FFDP and Ghost Machine you can't compare either they have their own distent sound and voice. i love both bands and the singers. i have herd some bands who i can't fig out who the hell told them they could play let alone sing but both FFDP and CM well they are amoung the great ones. i have their CD's in my truck and don't leave home without them.

@JonSpam07, as much as I love Ghost Machine I also think Ivan Moody has been improving with each band he's in. FFDP is definitely a heavier sound but War is the Answer blew me away because of the story told throughout each song. If you listen closely it's a portrait of today's soldier. My Own Hell - PTSD. Walk Away - The tension in relationships after returning from overseas. Far From Home - the hopelessness during a dark hour on post. Please give it another listen in this context.

Such a shame 5FDP don't make music like this. Ghost Machine were amazing - so much amazing melody, singing, lyrics and meaning. 5FDP seems like random screaming and aggression from what I heard, though I like The Bleeding and Walk Away.

Don't know if any1 else realized this yet but this song is not called "Burning Bridges" it is called "Dose". The album is available iTunes, it's the only song in my collection of 300+ Bands that has a "times played" count of over 450.

My fam met Ivan in 2007 at the Derox festival sense i was around 11 years old he took us to the VIP booth and hung out wit us.. it was freaking amazing he is such a cool guy. When he was on stage he took off his 5fdp shirt and had one of the roadies run it up to me lol it was amazing. yeah I didn't know that he was ever called ghost until I started listening to Motograter. If u like Ivan's vocals in this band you might like them in Five Finger Death Punch or Motograter if u haven't heard either of those bands before :)

Music, like all other things, needs to be organized. If you go to the store, is it or is it not helpful to have mens clothing separate from womens? @floods Although it's not a reference in itself, the band Slipknot, if you like their music or not, is chock-full of talent. Go listen to the actual guitar work some of those guys are capable of. Jim Root specifically. That's the tall lanky guitarist. Or listen to any of the drumming. Check out the Clown's side project as well, very good stuff. Called To My Surprise. If you honestly think that there is no talent there, you are wrong.

Never said anything about Slipknot. Great band and excellent musicians especially Joey Jordison. It was more in the context of you bashing the lyrics to a FFDP song saying there emo when Slipknot also has lyrics you could "classify" as "emotional" if you don't think so you need to listen to Snuff, Vermillion, Etc. Of course all musicians and artists express some form of emotion in their music or "art" if you will so does that make all of them "emo" too? That type of logic is well.......flawed.

@floods Emo is a genre, an attitude, that is present in music. Emo isn't what it used to be. When emo was first around I remember growing up and having some friends listen to it. It was punk, like, real punk not this shit they call punk today. Punk is dead. Now it's more loose, and the genre fits any band that is touching a very pessimistic and ultimately negative "my girlfriend broke up with me, woe is me" type of vibe. FFDP does that.
And new slipknot sucks.

A form of music is only "dead" when its forgotten and none of those bands will ever be forgotten just like FFDP won't be forgotten to some people. Once again all forms of music have emotion. so he went to Motograter, a much much heavier band. And he let loose with it and it was amazing. Motograter is my personal fav of his bands. then he went to ghost machine. Much more elegant and softer than motograter but nontheless an amazing band. and now hes in Five Finger Death Punch. and I don't see him leaving this one anytime soon, hes too good of a fit for them.

both FFDP and Ghost Machine you can't compare either they have their own distent sound and voice. i love both bands and the singers. i have herd some bands who i can't fig out who the hell told them they could play let alone sing but both FFDP and CM well they are amoung the great ones. i have their CD's in my truck and don't leave home without them.
