I used to live on Canvey and Two Tree Island was always seen by us kids as this mythical place, full of pirates or somesuch. Innocent days.

Sorry, I removed my last comment as it made no real sense. Being from Essex, what I like about this video is that it captures that strange but beautiful light which I think is pretty much unique to the East of England (the Super-8 film only helps). There was a fastastic nature doc on BBC2 a little while ago about the juxtaposition that Essex has between the rural and urban. This song and video kind of captures this.

@brommers12345 this reminds me of childhood rambles and games on the then 'Rubbish Dump' mountains and valleys of Two Tree and golden afternoons spent chasing the family dog in Hadleigh Downs. Evocative images indeed.

That docu caught both the light and essence of Essex, it was wonderful. As is the county, but only to those who can look beyond and within.
