Great cover by Macca and Ian Dury's Blockheads. One of the worthy send off songs to Ian Dury on that tribute album. Macca sounds like he's really loving singing this one!

Trust McCartney to murder this classic Ian Dury and the Blockhead's song, Cant write anything decent himself so he has to do his crap versions of covers, Ian Dury most probably scraped a living making excellent music, YOU give some of your 68 million to charitys or fucking stick it up your arse.
@stetsoncutie and the need of posting pretty much the same thing twice was ?.
So you don't like Paul McCartney we get it, other people on here do however, and it's obvious that you are just posting this to annoy people. I've seen the other comments you have made on your channel, it's clear that you are either a flamer or an opinionated shit, maybe both. Well all i can say is fuck off and spam someone else's videos.
@beatleboybob DAMN STRAIGHT, Beatleybob!!! You TELL 'EM! Some people need to be put in their place...Especially the MACCA haters like that person. By the way, when was this Dury cover recorded? Sounds like the band he had on Flowers in the dirt and Off The Ground.
What's your problem with Paul dude ? Obviously you don't know too much about McCartney. The man made this world a much better place and I feel bad that you can't feel the love man. I hope you come around and see the light one fine day because time is very short these days my friend.
Macca, in what is now a rarity, actually rocks on this, which was no more than the great man Dury deserved. Though nothing comes close to the original, this is a loving tribute and a highlight from that album
What do you mean actually rocks you twit? You don't anything about McCartney music you burn out. Don't bother commenting on YouTube anymore. You'd just a bigger fool of yourself. Don't bother responding to this. i won't read drivel from a pinhead. Ed
I'm actually in a Beatles tribute band in Liverpool, dickhead. Oh and learn to write a sentance first before posting insults, it was like 'guess the missing word'
So do I ! What a guy Dury was. One of the best lyricists the country has ever produced. 'My Old Man' would make a grown man weep. 'If I was With A Woman' - bitter and twisted. Brilliant writing. But, McCartney made a good go of it, I think.
Written by the late, great Ian Dury. It's on his, 'New Boots and Panties' album - which is a classic, for those who don't know. Macca does a great version, don't you think ?
Paul can write many decent songs and Ian Dury is nothing put up against Paul. Paul is in my mind the best composer of all time.

@Rockstaralan I'm pretty sure it was recorded either in 1999 or 2000 (don't hold me to that though, it could well be earlier)
beatleboybob 1 year ago
@Rockstaralan The Blockheads are backing him.
The album is called "brand New Boots And Panties."

@destructivedandy McCartney could have really shredded this back in the 60s. Still puts in an AWESOME vocal here though.

Great song, another under rated effort from one of the best rock voices in the business.
While McCartney is certain appreciated, like any great artist, people will only really understand the quality when he's gone! Not Me however!!
