  • best part 1:52 :P

  • 3:07 Really? Blender?

  • @Lweezho Yes

  • @IamDuhmb I wouldn't say that C4D, 3DS, or Modo are lower quality than Blender; each has its strengths. Regardless, it's the artist, not the tool, that matters.

  • makes me wonder why anyone would pay 3000 for something of less quality.

  • @1:52 - Sh*t just got real!!!

  • POR RESPETO A LOS ARTISTAS UN BUEN DEMO SE DEBE APRECIAR EN HD..!!

  • ewww, crap coming alive out of the toilet! lol

  • Can wait for blender to become a industry standard :D.

  • LOL, I watched something like this ages ago and thought "WOW, I cant wait to do all this shit", i gave up immediately after starting blender. 1 year later...its the program we're using in my IT class...fml -.-

  • I tried using the previous versions before the newest version 2.61 came out but found it too difficult to use cause I could never find a manual for it frustrating as hell cause I want to know how to use this software, but never got any help despite all the sites I tried which only suggested getting assistance from people that already knew how to use it! Not helpful whatsover when you use trial and error anyone know if this newest version has a manual?!

  • @RAYMOND96195 what do you mean there is no manual(s)? They are right in the download page of Blender. And you can always go to the communities like UndergroundBlender or BlenderNation to ask for help.

Don't blame on the program and go use your brain more often. Can you?

  • Truly amazing. This is so inspirational!

  • wow that's amazing.... and it's all done in blender.. a free programm... :O

  • woah blender is awesome

  • An amazing reel! I would love to know how to shatter things in blender.

    JBH-FILMS

  • @JBHMEDIA search for "Fracture"!

  • were some of these from actual aired commercials? Because they sure look like it. I didn't realize Blender was actually being applied in any commercial uses.

  • this is the real thing, you can even make a final fantasy sequel, but I, someday since I have the time right now and a beginner...I think after sometime I can do a simple movie I will indulge myself w/ knowledge and trainings...i hope so. I surrender in attempting to make an anime after looking at the skills the animator in drawing have but this is a hope.^^,

  • @MrRaindrop16 I feel the same way lol.

  • Awesome! Simply amazing! For me, this compilation of Blender achievements is as great of a video as The Third and the Seventh! Keep up the superb work everyone!

  • And this is entirely done in the free blender with out plug-ins?

  • @Alonesoldier100 who said that there were no plug-ins used?

  • @vBlackVFX I was asking the question. was there plug-ins? Not saying.

  • @Alonesoldier100 yes. this is possible, that plugins have been used!

  • NEVER NEVER NEVER underestimate the Power of an free open source piece of software with a passion

  • @TheOverkill102 its true with blender... but gimp* for example doesn't come close to photoshop... at least not in the way i use it =)

*used the version 2.6 or 8 like a year ago, so there will have been changes since then =)

  • @ZXOH true, i used gimp, but then i torrented photoshop (xD) but gimp works if you dont like to torrent, or dont have the $ to buy commercial photoshop

  • @TheOverkill102 i used it before too, it was very good for being free. but in text for example (i use much text and effects) when using effects you can then still edit the text. or smart objekts (import very much from illustrator).

and i even paid for it =D (80% off for students, and 100% legal *g*)

  • @ZXOH xD, Photoshop is a good piece of software, but overpriced. Also most people that have it tormented it xD (well actually i didnt torrent it, i cracked it) any way Blender for being free, is amazing. It measures up to many, many paid software, but there are some that are better, but Blender has almost everything you need.

  • @TheOverkill102 you're right. for me its just perfect. i'm a grafik designer and don't need features from maya like that motion stuff and so on (i know its possible somehow with blender, not as good, but possible).

overpricing is also a matter... rhino3d (nice audi r8 vid on youtube) is really good too, and costs maximum 800$ or so.

in 3d there is no real dicount for students... =/ because adobe with 80% is really good.. instead of 3500 you just pay 720 for the master collection

  • @ZXOH true. ive been wanting to get into animation my self, but i dont have the time as of now. But one day^^

  • wait was this all really made with free software? like legit?? damn, I am getting this stuff like right now!!!

  • Holy Fucking Man!!! is that! really blender shit! why the hell did i leave blend for man i,m going back to it right this instance. oh yeah! i remember it was the user interface it's to disorganize. but fuck it i,m going back to it right now NO! BullShit.

  • Where can i get "Bigger than us" in non-vocal version?

  • @VibezPL K, found out that there was Instrumental released :)

  • what was the gym teacher doing at 3:34?

  • 1:53 IMA POOP MONSTER!!!

  • outstanding

  • one of the best free softwares on the planet!!

  • 1:32 is the pure awesomeness!

  • The thing at 2:25 is totally a robotic Mr. Waternoose from Monster's Inc!

  • Dont try . the interface of this program is soo creepy.am at ease with 3ds max. it's simple and easy.

  • @tmrialv For those of us with no money and only a passing interest in animation, this will have to do.

  • @tmrialv you shouldn't drastically tell people what to choose, one might master blender much faster than 3ds max or any other modeler and vice versa.

From what I've seen blenders interface is quite intuitive once you see a few tutorials, it might not be quite yet polished enough but it is pretty much workable. Look at what wonders other people do and say that it is that bad.

  • ok you convinced me ill try

  • Whatever doubt I had in Blenders ability has just been completely erased. I'm here to stay!

  • HOLY F@#K

*goes to website and press's download

    AWESOME :D

  • I start to love Blender! I can do everything like in 3ds Max and Maya but FOR FREE; Blender is really amazing software.

  • Those cubes at the end.. those cubes... they... have .... come from the land... of DELETED DEFAULT CUBES!

  • @jokegred And YOUR HOUSE is next...

  • @jokegred

oo your so funny... 30% of those are mine lol

  • @jokegred its funny because right after i delete it...i make another one and the material to it ...

  • if just it would be exported to after effects. but after effects does not support a .blend file that's the only problem

  • Had plender for a week now, and i only regret that i dint find it sooner, how can such an immense program be free? Its almost to good to be true. Hail blender!

  • You did alll of this with Blender?!

  • This is definitely one of the best modeling softwares, the problem is it's really difficult to use

  • what movie is 2:37 from?

  • ok so im fliming a motion picture and this software is going to be very useful

  • Comment removed

  • pro

  • Blender looks awesome but since no studios use it, I don't want to learn useless information.

  • @aedrah Lots of studios use it :)

  • i like blender 3D is the best

  • Wow is this a free software? I would love to try it out with my Tablet

  • Suck it, 3Ds Max users xD

  • @AcAnimate Blender 2.61 is 1000 times better than 3DS Max which costs so much and not worth anything (much better than Cinema 4D) Blender the best!

  • @MeshMan3D Exactly!

  • I tried to do all this too but then I took an arrow to the knee

  • In 30 years, when rasterizers are outdated, and raytracers are the primary form of rendering, I have high hopes that games will look like this

  • Sintel was actually really good.

  • The chinese guy is EPIC!!! I didn't know blender is so much ahead of everyone... :)

But seriously I love the idea that ALL this is free. Blender forever!

  • Blender's certainly come a long way! A bit of advice though, keep the showreel down to 2 to 2:30 minutes tops. Youtube is one thing, but attention spans of people at conventions and film markets are incredibly low as there is alot going on around them. They invest their time to see your stuff and if it wanders on, you begin to lose them. Keep the visuals punchy and be ruthless with the editing, cut it out if its not epic. Think of it as a movie trailer and make people want more!!

  • awsome

  • Who needs to spend heaps on a 3d software? Not me.

  • how do u do that>>>

  • @ola12ification in blender...

  • Blender's cube ultimate revenge at 4:18 for having it deleted so many times.

  • this clip is the inspiration of me try to learn 3D with Blender.

  • where is the first part (science fiction jet) from?

  • I approve of 2:07!

  • This is exactly what I needed to see

  • blender is the best program there is

  • @canyo96 Its strange how this program is so much better than maya 3DS and all those. I have used Maya, C4D and some others and this tops it in terms of speed quality and the fact that sculpting is built in. Woo! for open source.

  • @RedofYellow Could I ask you a little thing? I am 16 and I must make my choice between blender , 3ds max and c4d, what would you choose to learn at this age that would help you the most in industry. Blender is looking amazing and it also is open source compared to the rest. Right now I am 3-5 months into 3ds max student version and I can say that it's noob proof after a few tutorials and I saw that blender also has a lot of tutorials. As a architect/ 3d artist, what would you choose ?

  • @terorvlad I prefer Cinema4D but thats just because it was the first I used as 3DS Max is not mac compatible. If I was you I would continue with 3DS Max as having skills with it is generally valued more by employers. Hope this helped.

  • @RedofYellow 3ds max costs 3000 bucks you know!

  • @nieknooijens Yes, I know. But as terorvlad said he is using the student version which is free.

  • @RedofYellow and why do they give it for free to students? the same reason why a cigarette company would do the same! to make you depend on their software so they can catch big money in the end! it's all about their own, you get it for free at this time, but you bet they have you pay those 3000 bucks when you graduate!

  • @nieknooijens They give it for free for 3 years I believe which is enough to get someone through a degree then it stops working. The only catch is there is a small watermark on renders.

  • @RedofYellow Maya, 3DsMax and C4D will not make you master of 3D mdelling. And these software dont runs on different powerful platforms. Blender can run at most platforms and gives powerful tools for 3D modelling and simulation.

  • Blender has come a very long way since 2005

  • @mfsflyer1 1995*

  • Wait did they use blender in the Lamborghini Aventador advert or was that just a replication with an R8

  • Hey Mike Pan, be more careful with your cutting. There are tons of little one-frame errors such as at 3:07, 3:59, and 4:15 where there's a frame of black or a frame from before/after a cut in the source clips.

  • definitely, FREEDOM always win

  • is blender hard to use? I have never done any kind of animation in my life but i really wanna try

  • @lillovedoctor I do not think it is hard, but I do not think it is easy, anyway if you love it you should try it, and there are lots of information and tutorials out there, happy blending = )

  • @lillovedoctor its quite easy to pick up THOUSANDS of tutorials , and its powerfull .

  • very good video. I liked it very much

  • this is fucking amaizing, and open source ? wow... just wow look at that that 4:20 while 420, its amaizing

  • Andrew Price you are my hero :)

  • @epikphaylle Im on Blenderguru ever day :)

  • @sneakySniper74 Yeah same here :P

  • @epikphaylle As soon as i seen he tree and ocean come up i was like, Thats andrew prices work and then i seen his name down the bottom :P

  • @sneakySniper74 Y U NOT ON BLENDERNATION OR BLENDERARTIST ?

  • @Cobac Ill have a look now :P

  • 1:32 WOOOW!!!

  • 2:53 Is that the German experimental weapon from WW2???! (Called "Die Glocke") Or, "The Bell" in English.

  • And second question: Could I use it to create a game? What I have in mind is a horribly complex and expansive fantasy/adventure.

  • @ArmezhiaTakashi yes but it would use the in game blender engine, if u want to create a game like something like ps2 game, then no, u would create models in blender, import them into a game engine and from their u could use it, bender does not create games, making games is very hard and complex, and a lot of people are doing different things, like 1 person is doing modeling for this part, 1 person is modeling this building, 10 people are programming the AI, etc

  • @windstorminator

Not necessarily a current system. I can build one around it, or just make a PC game, which was the original intention. And I already do have a team assembled. All I require is the engine, and the means with which to manipulate it.

  • blender, psh, u ain't got shit on my 3d skills in Windows Paint

  • Wait, so... Someone who had Blender and was learning how to use it could DO this!? What about myself, with no programming experience? Would I be able to pick it up if I were to train myself and reference the how-to?

  • @ArmezhiaTakashi yes its very easy, just watch some tutorials, at the lower levels you don't use programming, sometimes even at the higher levels you don't, but knowing wwo to program is not going to help you in this program

  • 2:38 scary :D

  • JEEZUS AWLMYTEE !!!!

  • Amazing.

  • I agree. I work with 3ds max in the game industry and have been for the last 8 years. when discreet was producing 3d studio max it was a nifty software. back than blender was a prety small child. But now it is vry fustrating to work with max. It is poorly developed and it crashes all the time when you use simple tools. I am starting to learn blender because from what i have seen it is far more stable and better whritten... cheers and succes in the future.. ;)

  • But will it blend?

  • @Ninja1Zombie1Master It will but you have to have been an adventurer like me, I am not anymore though since I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @Ninja1Zombie1Master Fuck off.

  • lol at the russian commercial with the asian guy XD "Фрутмотив Апельсин"

  • I love blender, I started using anim8or cause it was easier, and yes it is a great program to start up, I don't say anim8or is crap cause it's not, however I knew about blender but at that time I wanted something I can put my hands on and start creating really quick and that's why I got into anim8or, but now that I'm actually taking my time to learn blender, it is really simple to use and really fun... I'm using Blender 3D noob to pro from wikibooks is helping me a lot!

  • I haven't used blender for years, but this reel reminded me of how fun and amazing it is to use it. I feel inspired to do a whole bunch of new projects :D Thanks blender!

  • teach me how pl0x? :3

  • wow! movie quality!

  • i've just discovered Blender. is Andrew Price the Andrew Cramer of Blender?

  • @Margalus89 not sure, but check out blender guru DOT com. a lot of good stuff by andrew price, should get you off and to the races in no time!

  • @8justin88 thanks buddy!

  • Any good tutorials for Blender interface please. I'm having a hard time adapting

  • fucking awesome

  • many studios pass this software by they have no idea what they

are missing blender will be the next big software to hit the big screens

keep up the great work blender users

  • AS IF THIS SHIT WAS DONE IN BLENDER!

  • Comment removed

  • @Afterfield if you meant it wasn't, you're an idiot

  • @Margalus89 I mean that this stuff looks great, I would never have guessed it was made using blender.

  • @Afterfield sorry then it's my bad. fact is i see too much idiots that didn't even open Blender nor 3DMax criticizing it just because it's free, even if there's three great shorts on the official website that clearly demonstrates the software capabilities..people's getting more and more stupid .________.

  • @Margalus89 I know exactly how you feel man. I'm doing a Game design course in the upcoming year and I know that we are going to be using blender. I've been trying to get some practice in before we start and some of the stuff I have seen that's been made with blender is marvelous... The great thing about that is, it shows that I can do so much better, and that makes me want to.

  • Why are there so many poorly animated consumer products when their are amazing animators like these. No excuse.

  • Blender is a savour it lets small time indie studios (like the one I work with) to create graphics on a low budget, it really makes a world of difference!

  • Nice demoreel. I wait bmesh before translate all my work from xsi to blender (I like and sincerely prefer XSI in any case, but it is too expensive for my poor bank count). Bmesh and cycles will make blender finally a modern and competitive application, IMHO, a must have for a single artist or little studio.

  • Fucking incredible work.

BLENDER IS FREE = TALENT PRICELESS

  • 3:35 loooool

  • Blender rocks

  • Why is Blender free? Can this software alone create what I see in the video? If so can someone help me make a movie with this software. Thanks. "Horatio's Odyssey" creator.

  • Anything 3DS or Maya can do, Blender can do too. And its expanding soooo fast too. just a few days ago they added camera tracking, cycles rendering, dynamic paint and an ocean renderer. Its an unbelievable program.

  • omg intel xenon

  • maravilloso, me encanto, me dio ganas de volver a entrar fuerte con el blender, hoy comienzo con blender, wau

  • maravilloso, me encanto

  • Open Source is the future people whether you want it to happen or not! Maya, 3DS Max, and Blender are only as good as the user! And if your smart enough to work a computer, you should know how one works b4 you go talking shit! Almost 80% of websites you look at everyday are built with an "Open Source" CMS. Do you even know what Open Source does for the design and web dev community? EVERYTHING!

  • what....wtf...wow!! no fucking about huh? open source is so magical... techno magic!!! we are the future

  • has blender sculpt mode?

    2:31

  • @LanRous Yes, it does have sculpt mode. It can be seen in this video briefly. Check out the official site for more info and tutorials.

  • 3:10 WHAT IS THIS I DONT EVEN

  • This is really good , Blender is on the front line of open source software and with good reason...

  • Ive been watching BLENDER from the very birth..

Now- what YOU achieved guys so far is GREAT !!

    Congratulations and keep developing !!!

  • 3:08 - 3:16 There's no way that's computer generated. I DONT BELIEVE MY EYES.

  • wow. just wow. installing this now.

  • Blender is the best 3D modeling/animating/gamemaking software out there! I still don't know why major production companies don't use it.

  • god this is so great.

  • INCREIBLE!!! FELICIDADES!!! AMAZING!!! FROM CHILE!!!

  • Congrats to all, Blender really has come far.

  • what renders please?

  • Damn Blender, u scary
