Please somone, it is doing my nut in, I love this piece of music, but cannot remember for the life of me the composer/artist. Can anyone help please. Thank you
@Jez32uk Not really mate - a fiver was nowhere near enough for a Saturday night out on the town with the other half. It was about £1.20-£1.50 a pint back then depending on where you drank so a fiver wouldn't have lasted very long. I hope she dumped the tight fecker after that!
@fezzverbal Please, love this piece of music too, and used to have it, but please can you tell me who composer/artist is please. Cannot for the life of me remember. Cheers x
@Ahtumble4ya - The kettle calls the pot black there Mr U,S and A! lol. It's called the English accent...clear, well spoken and eloquent. Email Nat West here in the UK and tell them that their advert from 1991 would have been better if they'd included a few loud "Woah!!!"s and some "Wooop!!"s and then a "Hi Five Buddy!!!" for good measure! lol. They might ignore you though because Nat West weren't the listening bank, that was Midland.
Dean was brought up in Sale, Cheshire and attended Ashton on Mersey High School, where he and two other classmates were offered roles in Childrens' Ward.
Dean attended South Trafford College, Timperley for a short while, where he played drums for a college band.
Dean played a number of roles, although has been relatively unseen on screens since the turn of the Millennium.
i was about 5 when i saw that, can only just remember it but the theme tune brings it all back, the good old days eh! sure dont make em like that anymore :(
So its...young lad, starts as office junior with nat west, loves every minute of it, gets a thing going on with Debbie from telesales...forget religion, this just boosted my will to live forever, my life now has a meaning and a purpose.
Why is it when I go to my local bank, there are no fit women like there is in the latest natwest advert! Especially that short haired blonde girl! I like to deposit something special in her vault!!
I don't think it's accidental that when the employee left work to meet up with his girlfriend again, that he had to go through a guarded gate. If that wasn't so, there would be no need for him to get his cash from the other side of the hole in the wall.
'The Mary Whitehouse Experience' used to rip the piss out of "It's not all work, work, work!" and I wondered what they were on about. Now at last, seventeen years later I have the answer.
I was looking for this ad. I dont care whats been said, I love it. It reminds me of SUCH better times. Good God, who I wouldn't kill to go back to 1991!
CesMan83: Why not? I think it's a great choice of soundtrack. It makes the bank sound more modern and closer to its customers. I was never a "Miami Vice" fan so when I first heard this music in this commercial, my first reaction was not "oh, Miami Vice" but "nice music"!
I suppose. My initial reaction was my statement down below because I'm a "Miami Vice" fan. I personally found it a bit peculiar that a signature theme song from a popular detective thriller was used in a bank advertisement
I remember this series of adverts it was the start of that caring sharing nineties era.. in fairness I have a lot of nostalgia for the early nineties there was this whole art and human face in the adverts at the time, and I had my university days and working abroad days.
I never like the answering questions style of the ad- and the cheesy ending "of course we do, it's not all work work you know!"
Quite a soothing ad all told, what with the Jan Hammer music and all. Presumably the ad was intended to give Natwest a more human face. Doesn't the bank look crowded with staff in one of the shots, these days they'd all be in India..
I remember that this was one of a series of ads, the later ones got a bit pretentious (remember that one of a Dad reading a letter to his son who was travelling in Africa, a guest on 'Room 101' chose it to go in there..)
The guy doesn't even look old enough to shave never mind look after your bank account. If I remember rightly The Mary Whitehouse Experience did a sketch that was pretty damn good on this. If I can find it on my old VHS' I'll post it. I have also heard a rumour from a friend of a friend etc... That the lad in the ovesized suit is either Mark Gatiss (League Of Gentlemen) or a very close relative. Any way it was very nice of the little lads mum to post the video on Youtube (bless).
yeah! You'll never believe this...but I was watching an episode of miami vice just now and heard the theme playing in the background! I ,naturally, came immediately back here to inform the world about it after id wikied up the details...only to find grodvin beat me too it! Oh well thanks anyway! I'm downloading that now })
You know....in my idler moments..mostly when im trying to get to sleep...i sometimes do find myself wondering "What was that Natwest advert with the really cool music?", well done grodvin and if i ever find out the name of this music i will let everyone know!
Perhaps he only drew out £5 because he had £45 in his wallet already.

In 1991, the average Briton kept his/her money at the post office, and the women there were middle-aged and dumpy.
The Britons that kept their money at Nat West were the ones that got their homes reposessed in the early 90's.
