My gods, I never thought I would see this clip ever again! Twenty-six years old and it still comes across as powerful as an incendiary postpunk funk bomb....just listen to that bass! Live they were breathtaking and as far as I remember blew most of the other bands off stage regardless of whether they were the support & act or the headliners. It was also great to see Bradford's anarchist/punk collective the '1 in 12 Club' flying the flag in the audience, I had many a happy night at their events!
Dreadfully underrated band. I moved to Leeds in 1985 from Belfast and saw the Three Johns (Leeds Uni?) in my first couple of weeks there. Fantastic live band.
saw this lot several times in early 1980's. Remember particularly the singer's cousin throwing upon me in their "home town" gig in Coventry and backstage at Electric Ballroom with a couple of the Mekons...
can't believe i missed these guys in the 80s...

I had a beer between sets at a show in Chicago, Shuba's(?, last minute venue change). Anyhow, the show rocked.
I also remember hearing a response about "no drummer", which Langford responded with some like... "One less drunk to worry about".

Had a few pints with these boys in NYC back in the '80s. Loud, savage, political -- brilliant.
