I saw Marcel Marceau on stage when I was a bout 15, and was absolutelt mesmorised. He was a genius.

Marcel was an artist of unbelievable proportions. Those knowing him as a mime is only a very small part of a brilliant performer. I wouldn't be surprised if Shields and Yarnell weren't inspired by him as well as many other comedians and performers. There simply is nothing bad you can say about Marcel. Rest in Peace, and thanks for what you have left us.

@LRPharm54 Actually, Marceau saw Shields perform and was impressed by him. He offered a scholarship to Shields to come to Marceau's show in France, but Robert turned that down because he wanted to develop in his own style without becoming too influenced and resembling others.

Marceau studied Aikido. I recall seeing a book on it with him featured showing some postures from it which he somehow incorporated into his mime.
