My specs are: Intel Quad core Q6600 at 2.40GHZ, Nvidia 8800 GT and 3 gigs ram. I would think that would be good enough.

@Ivansky1 Flight Simulator never really has been a "game" though. It's always been a simulator that allowed you to go wherever you want to, and display realistic flight characteristics. I feel like this new version is going to be a game, and it will focus on graphics, missions, and game play, rather than flight characteristics itself.

From all i've read it seems Microsoft will include various gameplay. It seems like you would be able to choose from flying a simulator type gameplay or an arcade type gameplay. Some of my friends who has tried FSX just could not handle it...so they got bored...perhaps the Arcade version will make it easier for them to start up. Perhaps Microsoft will release several different versions. All I know is that I want a "REAL SIMULATOR".

You're absolutely right. It is not a simulator at all. At best, it's an emulator. In the end it's just a game with great graphics. The FAA won't even consider it a training tool like they officially do with XPlane.

I used to play with FSX, then I was able to fly the real things. Now if I can't get into the air, I jump on XPlane. FSX has always had the graphics while XPlane has the realisim in flight dynamics. There is the big difference. Once XPlane 10 comes out, FSX will no longer have an ed

Small Planes should be made by Carenado

Big Planes Should be made by Captain Sim

Orbx, for the scenery

Rex for weather

and other smaller developers for everything else

Racing games dont include that you can race around the whole world wherever you want. Thats why they have better graphics because the game only has to load a small part but hee they have to download like 1000 000 000 000 trees and clouds and effects. That strains the computer so you need a super computer to play the game like that

@Boltboxer Yea I used to play FSX a lot back in the day. The main problem was that it was optimized for old hardware. New hardware has new ways of doing things and FSX just wasn't taking advantage of them. What you said is incorrect - that's why we have draw distance and level of detail. They hide lack of detail with fog and other more complex ways.

New games such as crysis and gta4 are both much more efficient at rendering large maps. Hell - even google earth is better.

I really could not care less about the ground scenery and the quality details of the overall scenery. What I really want in the upcoming production is extremely accurate cockpit dimensions, very detailed in terms of the cockpit, and make all switches interactive and properly simulated. In other words, make the B747 exactly like or even better than the PMDG 747 without having to pay extra money on those addons just to get the things which are supposed to be in what is called a Simulator.

I'd rather have, a large area to fly in than the intire world. Large, but only so big that you start getting bored when you reach the end of the area in a fast jet. That means that you can have more ground details and less lag.
