  • Best to keep one hand up to guard the face while executing the shin-kick. Fighters in Philadelophia generally aim for their opponent's head.

  • That last entry should have read "......does not get old"

  • If chi flows through the body normally, time stands still and one does get "old" (whatever that means). Once a person reaches full maturity (25 - 30 years of age for a man)provided his chi flows and he avoids most of the poisons of this world he will not age anymore!

  • No aging huh? What poisons are u talking bout?

  • What would happen to these people after they become old? How are their health and kungfu?

  • A fascinating insight into a rarely seen way of martial arts training - we need more films of this quality on the tube. These people have let us come into their circle and allowed us to see the true "nitty-gritty" of their art. Their candour is to be applauded. Thank you for sharing DPGDPG!

  • When I learned Kuntao in Singapore 35 years ago we soaked in traditional herbal preparation. Instruction was to not wash until next morning. So my bed had a strong herbal smell for months. Our teacher was an acupuncturist & Doctor of TCM. The training did not hurt my hands. I still play piano now at 67 though I've not done conditioning training for years. I walk to the park & do Taijiquan every morning from 6am prepare my body, mind & spirit for the day ahead.

  • Marshmallows duh...

    Thanks though dude.

If u take physics u kno that with and action the is and equal and opposite reaction. That reaction isnt just brusies its trapped khi and it can

  • traditional chinese medicine uses heat to speed up recovery and repair damage, as opposed to western medicine which encourages people to use ice on bruises, and strains. looking at their striking training in this video, I would surmise that they are trying to fend off arthritis in their joints.

  • Maybe to help circulation, loosen tendons, not sure

  • why are they steaming their feet?
