  • They are playing at bamboozle this year

  • i started crying in the car listening to this song the other day, i never got to see them live, i pray every day they have a reunion show, I badger the members everyday on twitter to get back together, unlike my other 2 favorite bands, circa survive and sayanything, they never developed the fanbase they deserve, in my opinion treos is one of the greatest tragedies of history

  • Casey!

  • I could live to be 100 and this song would still send chills down my spine. Simply perfection!

  • ahhh this song is too amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Some people believe in God and the Second Coming. I believe in TREOS and their glorious come back.

  • I was in this music video. get on my level.

  • I learned about TREOS the week after their final show, in the city that I live in.

    Probably my greatest regret.

  • @Effortpost they're coming back! fear not!

  • @Bilahh92 I think your right

  • I feel like this band was ahead of its time...

  • I find it extremely creepy how every song by this band sounds very familiar.. even the first time through them all. Really good band though

  • if this gives you chills listen to the acoustic version ......={D

  • if this gives you chills listen to the acoustic version ......={D

  • I have seen 20 plus shows and I went to see Alexisonfire at the Metro in Chicago and to this day TREOS put on the best show I have ever seen

  • This just takes me back.

  • If they stayed together they probably would have gotten more fame than Justin Beiber!!

  • @skatethatdeck sadly, that's untrue. it's just a popularity contest. most people probably find this average, because they lack the ability to see just how damn gorgeous it is. shit like this goes unrecognized every day, and it's pathetic.

  • I miss this band.

  • best band ever. bar none.

  • this is my favorite song of all time...but then again so is every TREOS song.

  • I'm so sad I got into these guys too late. They're such great musicians.

  • can anyone tell me if TREOS are well known in America, because in england they are not at all but to be honest the whole of my itunes libary is from America. TREOS, Circa Survive, Isles and Glaciers, Peirce the Veil, Tides of Man, Taking back Sunday, and many many more.

  • @TReoS96 they are in fact not popular in america. most people have shit taste here. nice choice of bands mate.

  • this is totally not the type of music I usually listen to... but this song is incredible. how these guys arent more widely known is beyond me...

  • Red light: stop

    Green light: run

    Lmao

  • i'd die happy if i got one of those shirts

  • @Geist666 they glow in the dark too. mine still does.

  • @Geist666 meeeeee toooo

  • Oh how i wish i was in that crowd singing along...

  • Guys, TREOS is back in the studio holy shit yes

  • @8keane8bassguy WHAT!?? how do you know this??

  • @8keane8bassguy Ah, i sure hope so. :]

  • @8keane8bassguy how do you know this?? you have to let me know.

  • @chugstevenchug1 they posted it on a website. new song out November 9th.

  • such a beautiful song

  • TREOS

  • One of the most meaningful song of our modern time. "You've caused this collapse, Between The Heart And The Synapse!!!" Makes me tear up every time... what kind of pain on of the members must have went through to create such a beautiful heart spoken song as such?

  • damn i forgot how great this song is

  • THIS SONG IS BEAST!!!

  • Check my vitals

  • this may be the most beautiful song ever written.

  • orgasmic

  • When they sing the title of the album... never fails to give me goosebumps. Its awesome in epilogue too.

  • i love this song

but i feel the video didnt do it justice :\

  • Where do they get those SHIRTS?!?! I've been looking for one for years!!

  • casey is back with TREOS for a one time concert in mass. skate fest 2010

  • TREOS is good, but Casey is such a crazy beast with the Dear Hunter

  • I CANT BELIEVE IT,,, TREOS ARE BACK OMG !! I CRY :** THEY WILL MAKE THEIR REUNION WITH CASEY AT SKATEFEST 8 MAY 2010... EVERYONE THERE!! :D lets prove TREOS that we love them so they wont make a one night show only.. lets prove them that we want this reunion more then everything <3

  • yesss

  • Omg one of the best songs ever.

The ''were all puppets, were all marionette'' thing is so awesome.

The check my vitals chorus is sick

    The ending is orgasmic.

and the total epicnes of; We come to this agreementwoohooowhoooWHOOO WHOOOOOOOOOOO

  • My friend named their band after this song. You guys might like them. Myspace (dot com) / EnjoyTA

  • The last minute is orgasmic.

Everyone's singing something different, all at the same time, with a chorus layered over.

    Fucking amazing.

  • Oh my god I loved the hidden track on this cd so much, I was studying and sort of listening to it without realizing what it was. It made me so happy I could have cried. Except I'd originally thought it was "Oh how I've been Feelin'..." sort of dissapointed to learn the real lyric.

  • i totally agree with you lady madonna...

  • this armistice..

    gives me chills every time.

TREOS has a piece of my heart. always

  • Amen to that.

  • from 3:35 to 4:28 is the most epic 53 seconds in modern music.

  • i agree so much with robbie ive listened this song a thousand and more times and i ve never got bored of that magical minute.. <3

  • @RobbieGoldE amen man. Idk it's a close tie with the solo vocal harmonies at the end of Broadcast Quality

  • @RobbieGoldE I know this comment is a year old, but a-fucking-men. TREOS did a lot in their time as a band, but that part gives me the fucking chills every time I hear it.

  • @RobbieGoldE dude, the whole song is the most epic anything ever

  • @RobbieGoldE gives me fucking chills every damn time.

  • @RobbieGoldE 2:25 to 2:55 is the most epic 30 seconds I've heard in modern music to date. Such a good song.

  • @RobbieGoldE agreed son lol

  • @RobbieGoldE I have to disagree :) Although I love TREOS, I'd have to say 5:15 to 6:21 in Moving Mountains' song "8105" is the most epic. I still thumbed up your comment though :D

  • who sings what in this song? i'm not very good at telling their voices apart. except casey i think...his is the more unique one i'm pretty sure? who sings "we're all puppets, we're all marionettes"?

  • I think their voices grow significantly more unique on The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi but it is much more difficult to distinguish the difference on this record. I think that is Brendan.

  • alex sings the first verse casey sings "and now the only thing left to discuss is..." then he and brendan sing the pre-chorus then in the chorus brendan sings "we're all puppets..." and alex sings "tell me whos pulling the strings..." then in the 2nd verse alex and casey trade off on the harmonies then the pre-chorus and chorus are the same as before then at the end casey sings "oh how I've been teething..." alex sings "tell me whos pulling the strings" and brendan sings "we're all puppets.."

  • and yea they split b/c brendan had a baby ( my 2nd cousin )

  • im like sorta related to brendan brown

  • I like both TREOS and The Dear Hunter, granted they don't sound the same, but they are both very amazing.

  • no-horse i heard an idiot song called the the black rose i think ... and i was DUDE... why????

  • Such a fantastic song. I found an Acoustic version of this song the other day which is also incredible.

  • dude "The Dear Hunter" cant compare with this legendery band... R.I.P. TREOS

  • i disagree.

have you heard the stuff on act 2?

  • i saw them at the avalon when they first came out. i went to see anberlin, and was absoloutely blown away. one of the best shows ive ever seen. ( anberlin sucked)

  • i agree with jonKO13. and i love the transitions between the songs and how they all tie in, like the beginning riff from The Rival Cycle is in a couple of the other songs, and they do other stuff like that. i'm just pissed i didn't find out about them when they were still around

  • you should try the reason the band split then: the singer's other band 'The Dear Hunter', they're absolutely incredible!

  • Actually they split cause Brandon had a baby and wanted to spend time with his family. They continued after casey left and made the dear hunter. But they are an incredible band :)

  • they split one album after casey was kicked out. from what i understand it was because he was having health problems and they kinda just started the new cd without him. and that caused him to work on the dear hunter full time, which was just a side project for the music that wouldnt fit with treos. all in all they are two of my favorite bands.

  • I was lucky enough to catch these supporting funeral for a friend in manchester , I fell in love with their music immediately, Next time i went onto their page they had split. Ah one of the best bands of the generation i think!

  • Damn...that video was a letdown. Figured the video would have more of a night setting and be more spacey.

  • This song builds up so amazingly well. I agree that this video is sort of anticlimactic compared to the track.

  • awesome song, don't particulary like the video

  • I agree with the previous comment, lol. Just found out about this band really, thank iTunes and Genius for that 8) But this song is too good for words really.

  • amazingamazingamazingamazing song!

  • this video sucks, the song definitely needed a different atmosphere for a visual representation... completely undermines the beauty of the music

  • I totally agree.

  • i hope you like the lyrics xD

i am so in love with treos...... i always wake up with "the war of all against all" fuckin greeat intro!!! and i sleep with "this armistice" love ya treos... 4ever... <3 damn........

  • THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS LYRICS

    "This Armistice"

Your gross fabrication of pretense could bore,

Yet still I fall victim to syntax omitted,

Just shy of something I could understand

So blissful, I press on to the sound of the organs

    Playing their most convincing tunes

As they serenade to the parade of paid-off parts

  • And now the only thing left to discuss is

    The details of this armistice

    We've come to this agreement...

    Check my vitals

The truth is vile, but vital to this cause

    I've been held hostage;

A captive of this passive shell

Give me gravity, give me clarity,

Give me something to rely on

  • We're all puppets (Tell me who's pulling the strings) We're all marionettes We're all puppets (Tell me who's that you move for) We're all marionettes These body parts are parts of plans, Passed by my hands My hands shake through handshakes, Forsaken by my limbs My limbs sing the hymns; The hymns of a tyrant in a crumbling pantheon As inhabitants will raise their fists and bid him to disarm
  • Check my vitals The truth is vile, but vital to this cause I've been held hostage; A captive of this passive shell Give me gravity, give me clarity, Give me something to rely on We're all puppets (Tell me who's pulling the strings) We're all marionettes We're all puppets (Tell me who's that you move for) We're all marionettes [x2]
  • And now the only thing left to discuss is

    The details of this armistice

    We've come to this agreement...

Oh, how I've been teething (Tell me who's pulling the strings)

    In light of your misleading

You've caused this collapse (Tell me who's that you move for)

Between the heart and the synapse

    [x2

  • [Previous stanza continues in the background]

    We're all puppets

    We're all marionettes

    We're all puppets

    We're all marionettes

    [x2]

    [Whispered]

...The strings and joints will join us together...

The strings and joints will join us

The strings and joints will join us together...

  • i love The Dear Hunter, but i wish he had just presented his idea about the 6 concept albums to The Receiving End Of Sirens. they would still be together and 100 times better.

  • Absolutely amazing song by an absolutely amazing band!

I've had this cd for probably a good year and a half and 2:29 - 2:50 still gives me chills everytime I listen to it.

  • "oh how i've been teething in light of your misleading. you've caused this collapse between the heart and the synapse."

    that's genius :o

in fact, this whole song is basically perfection. i love the receiving end of sirens :)

  • This band's musical composure leaps pretty close to perfection. I agree that Mi Fa Mi is a better record, but BHATS is also a musical masterpiece in itself. This band needs to come back. Soon.

  • this band really needs to come back

  • seriously though...one of the best bands ever

  • You can totally see Brendan at about 1:57. I don't know if that was intentional or not.

  • hah it may have been b/c you can see Alex at 1:56 sitting at the table

  • Mi Fa Mi isn't lacking emotion or variety. I have listened to both albums over and over and Mi Fa Mi is better lyrically, emotionally, and technically. A more mature and well rounded album. BTHATS is great but I find it works better as a bunch of cool songs rather than an album. I can't listen to one song only from Mi Fa Mi but I can on BTHATS.

Casey is better off in TDH and TREOS was better without him in my opinion, even if this song is fucking unreal.

  • both albums are emotional atmospheric masterpieces. if you listen to BTHATS in its entierty, you fall into a musical trance and feel one with the music. especially if you understand and relate to the lyrics. BTHATS is a truly unique album that cannot be insulted like "a bunch of cool songs". with each listen brings a new experience. just spin it one more time to know

  • Doesn't matter if we like BTHATS or MIFAMI better, it's still TREOS! Let's celebrate the beauty of the musical masterpieces they left behind!!

  • Give this man a medal.

    I can't lip-read, any ideas what they're saying 1:44--->?

  • i cant believe this song is on here...its my favorite song (its AWESOME!!!!

  • thats me nigga 4:03

  • hes on pcp, best vid ever

  • goddamn i want one those shirts lol

  • its cool. they glow in the dark. still got mine.

  • did anyone else notice the cover of "x&y" from coldplay hanging on the wall at 2:24???

  • lol yeh

  • Oh yeah, yet another thing before I get torn apart by mifami diehards, I'm not insulting anyone, just throwing it out there. Not trying to offend anyone.

  • One more thing, to all of the people saying that mifami is better because of the technicality. Music is about emotion and passion, not technical skill. Sure, technical skill is nice when coupled with emotion, but it alone is just empty. That's how I feel about mifami. I kind of like it, but it is just so boring and empty of passion. bthats on the other hand, well....

Music isn't about technical skill, speed, etc....If it was, you would see it on ESPN. Music is about the passion and the emotion.

  • well said. I see eloquency isn't dead in this world.

  • I agree that MiFaMi isnt as good as BHATS. What i think treos was trying to create between these albums is a contrast. The Bhats album cover is detailed and uses many colors. MiFaMi uses 2 colors and is very simple. Bhats lyrics used include "this is the last night in my body used in Epilogue (<--- BEST SONG) and Planning a Prison Break aka ending life. While MiFaMi has lyrics about children like stay small etc. MiFami brings the technicality out of the band while BHATS brings out the emotion.!!

  • mi fa mi is about the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler's tonal theory of the planets (mi fa mi is a scale), and twin poles of family breakdown.

you can look this up on itunes.

  • ah nice. thanks for the info!

  • I just love this band. :]

    Beautiful. :]

  • TREOS ruined music for me.

    1. Nothing else compares in greatness than this record.

    2. They broke up so there will be no more amazing music.

There is literally nothing I want to listen to very much anymore. I compare everything to this record, and as a result, I am dissapointed.

And the worst part personally is that I got this album AFTEER they broke up!

Perhaps the only thing more powerful than recieving something wonderful is having something wonderful taken away.

  • I feel the same way, I knew this band was awesome the first time I really listened to them like in january, but I feel like I just realized how amazing they are now. I do disagree since i think MiFaMi was better than BTHATS but thats another story.

If they made another album it would have been transcended greatness

  • Atleast you caught onto them right??? A shame u never saw them... they are amazing live. I got to meet alex and took a few pictures!

TREOS is my favorite ever, but do u think treos got as good as they did by just listening to one band? TREOS is at the top, but dont let that deture u becuz there are other great bands out there too.

  • This video seems like a bad(or good?) acid trip.

  • I love their music and definately their lyrics. They're amazing =]]

  • treos is so under rated. for ppl that are true fans of music this is the most talented band i have ever heard period. they are the evolution of many bands b4 them .the epitomy of emotion and complexity. changed my life of what i thought music could be. This armistice is a masterpiece. R.I.P. TREOS

  • i agree!!! between the heart and the synapse is probably one of the best albums ever. so intricate, so deeply intertwined. i love it :)

  • "strings and joints will join us together"

  • brilliant song.

  • hey i have that striped shirt the guy is wearing

  • treos pwns

  • Uhm every single song on mifami was amazing and you say I have no musical sense LOL I like BTHATS but I think MIFAMI is when they reached musical maturity, listen to the crop and the pest that song is perfect..

  • I agree with the fact that "The Crop and the Pest" is one of their best songs!

Although I only have BTHATS and I think it's absolutely amazing, I can only compare it to the songs off Mi Fa Mi that i've heard on youtube and myspace.

But I like them both a lot :]

  • BTHATS is waaaaaayyyy better than mafami. after casey left, they werent the same.

  • they broke up, but you have to admit it was for the better. without casey they weren't as great, even though the live shows were still incredible. idk, I guess the best shows they ever played were the old ones, synapse was truly one of the best albums ever but mifami just wasn't interesting...

  • did you ever take time to listen to mifami it was actually better then between the heart and the synapse....

  • no way. It was not. What song on it was any better then a single song on BTHATS, save the evidence? And do not say smoke and mirrors or you have absolutely no musical sense.

  • hahaha thanks for the discreet "noob" comment.

    i thought it was funny.

  • MIFAMI was more musicaly technical than BTHATS. in BTHATS they used alot of the same lyrics and structured there songs very similar. not saying its bad though! i love that album. i made a whole playlist of it for my myspace lol. but MIFAMI was definetly better structured and lyrical wise as well.

  • yep finally someone who agrees, you my man know music :)

  • thankyou kind sir, but the sad thing is every point i made is meaningless cause todays kids dont give a care how musicaly talented the musicans are or who can put a very technical song together. whatever sounds good(or atleast for a couple of weeks till they get tired of it) people will take over songs that have hidden parts you dont notice the first time you listen to a cd. thats why i like MIFAMI theres so much to discover.

  • yea man like if you check a post in here I made 2 months ago I say almost the same thing. To me every GREAT band reaches a point in there music where it matures and it forms a perfect bond to create the great sounds we hear and to me thats MIFAMI, they reached their musical maturity and let it all out in a perfect blend of sounds. There is not one single song on that album that is not good, the lyrics are all so amazing, the vocals, guitars, drums everything is so harmonius.

  • That's a perfect way to word it!

I'd always loved both albums and there are so many things about BTHATS and MIFAMI that are extraordinary, but as far as people arguing about which one is better, I never could pick one.

Even though BTHATS is one of the most complex albums I've ever heard, MIFAMI definitely shows the fact that they can and have matured and it sounds tighter and yet, more complex at the same time.

I'm glad someone else is on the same page.

  • I love BTHATS and MIFAMI, but BTHATS is the better album. They matured in MIFAMI, but not having casey changed the dynamic a bit. sometimes experimental detures from melodic and that happened in MIFAMI.Complexity only works if ur keys match or compliment one another. Some songs feel like the vocals and music dont match(like oubliette). They achieved an ethereal sound in this album, but sometimes it got a little to spacey where as BTHATS never lost focus. Either way both albums come from TREOS :)

  • I agree with the other guys. MiFaMi is so dam good, really listen to that album more times if you think differently, the lyrics are insanely good the instrumentals are awesome. Its a matter of opinion though.

Sometimes music is more than just loud hooks and slant rhymes (some of which on BTHATS dont make sense) Im not taking anything away from BTHATS though its definitely one of my favorite albums ever.

  • thats the thing with treos in BTHATS its not just loud hooks and slant rhymes. Its TREOS. BTHATS exerts more emotion then MIfaMI in my opinion. BTHATS is prefectly balanced in complexity and emotion. it never loses focus. To much complexity can lose sight and then u have dream theater. Which is all scales. BTHATS has more emotion and passion which is critical for any song writer. It also comes down to fact that both cd's have different themes.

  • I respect your opinion BTHATS is an awesome album worthy of immense recognition but the things that they accomplished in MiFaMi is absurd. I think you are implying that MiFaMi looses focus, I dont think it ever does the themes of Misery Famine and Misery resound in the lyrics. I thought the lyrics were better in MiFAMi, it was more deep but not as clever. I also thought the musicianship was better (wanderers!!)

Most TREOS fans agree with you but it doesnt matter were all fans of an awesome band

  • I respect your opinion as well. The bottom line is that both these albums came from the TREOS, the greatest and most under rated band ever :)

  • I don't get how people think mifami is better. It's cool if you do, but I was incredibly dissapointed when I first listened to it. I think most of it is just boring. And believe me, I listened to it many times. I tried to be more open minded to it, but not only do I think bthats is much better, I don't think mifami is even good at all, save for a few songs.Treos needed Casey. No disrespect intended.

  • holy shit mike its jacob I can't believe you commented on my gigantic little thread thing I started. yeah, I agree. I have listen to bthats like 1000 times and still find it amazing. the whole repeated lyrics thing isn't because of lack of originality, just listen to the dear hunter there is plenty of lyrics and they're all amazing. it's just cool when they do it.

  • Haha That's crazy that you started it, i didn't even notice that. Yeah, repeated lyrics are awesome on this cd, they just further imprint the awesome concept of this album. haha remember Joe? "It repeats too much I don't like it (refering to chorus in prison break)" lol It's called a chorus. you know a band is great when you can listen to their good cd over and over and over and like it more and more and more.....When I turn eighteen, I'm getting the entire album artwork tattoo'd on myself.

  • there are many imitators in this genre but TREOS proved they are original.

  • u know, im pissed that treos broke up, but if brendon thot that his reason wa simportant enof, then i respect his decision

  • does anyone hear screaming throughout the second chorus like 2 minute ish...

cuz i swear i do, but i cant decipher what its saying

  • I hear the screams, but there are no words that they are saying. They are just screaming on the 1st beat of some of the measures.

  • they scream loudly to it live, although when I saw them without casey there wasn't any. I guess he does it.

  • i think he sayings "we're,,,,,alll,,,,,puppets. i think no sure but sounds like it, hard to tell since the other vocals clutter it

  • he is hes saying "we're all puppets we're all marionettes."

  • What's that phone say at 00:45?

  • hahaha idk...i tried to read it though

  • I think it says the Receiving End of Sirens, but I dunno.

  • i cant go to providence to check out the last show so ill have to settle with bamboozle...

im gonna cry when they play this song i swear

  • Hopefully i can go to providence! it's like an hour and half away but there's no way i'm missing this last show!

  • TREOS is breaking up?

    NO!

    NO!

    NO!

They're the most talented, imaginative, and creative band in the history of music.

  • this band's music has helped me soo much in life...and it's a bummer they're no longer as a band....maybe a miracle will happen and i can fly to bamboozle : /

  • probley my favorite song by this band, the lyrics are amazing=D<3

  • this is my favorite song of all time.

so sad that they are breaking up. :(

  • me too man,

    I love TREOS.

I need to find a way to get to their last shows
