Dave This Making of video deserves way way more views, thats one of my favorite movies and it boosted my love for helis over the top you guys did a fantastic job on those effects.
I always thought you were piloting one of the RC helicopters, but this video is great. I always like these behind the scenes videos showing how things were done.
I can't say how many times I've watched "Blue Thunder" but it's one of those films that never grows old, I've probably seen it more times than some have seen Star Wars - excellent work Dave and thanks for the entertainment on both big & small screens.
Saw the movie back then here in the Netherlands, and we all thought those F16,s were real haha, still a classic movie. This "strory behind the scenes" is awesome Dave, thanks for sharing.
Great job Dave, thanks for sharing the footage!Looks like it was a great experience for you and a few other r/c buds. Can't replace that.I'd have been a nervous wreck under those chopper blades!Whew.Keep it up.You're the man.Thankyou for your service.God bless
Cool Dave, I saw this movie for the first time in the late 80's. I was just a little kid back then, but always thought that the Blue Thunder heli was so cool. Was also a big fan of the TV show too. Nice work Dave ;)
I loved this movie as a kid. If I remember correctly he lands the helicopter on the train tracks and lets it get hit by a freight train to destroy it. I remember being mad and yelling that he destroyed Blue Thunder and my mother telling me that what he was doing was protecting the people. Told me that in the wrong hands Blue Thunder would be a machine of evil used against the people.
Lol, I clearly remember that movie as one of the highlights of my childhood! I did wonder how they did that loop, and we had some hefty debates in school whether Blue Thunder existed or not... Of course, those guys who believed Kit really could jump, believed all the features of Blue Thunder :)
When you put so much energy and love into an RC plane or helicopter it my be painful to watch them blow up. It takes a special kind of mind set to not suffer through those clips and not feel a pinch. ;-)
cool vid man today they whont do a stunt like that in the city with real heli seen this before but still very cool and nice landing of the f16 still saved it a bit o and dave like all of your vids very good help in rc heli flying started flying about a year a go and your vids help thanks
WOW! I can remember standing outside looking at the Blue Thunder movie poster ,
I could not wait to see that movie. It is neat to know you had a part in making it.
