HAHAHAHA! As a 30 year old man who played AD&D and White Box with his dad when I was about 10 (Obviously I still play)... this is both nostalgic and hilarious. It brings back so many memories of my 7 STR gnome magic-user who had a phobia of soap (fluff) and really only casted two spells.

D&D now-a-days is interesting and 'modern' but sometimes you just want to kick back to the days when DWARF and ELF were a class, not a race.

Man you whine a lot. That's actually a decent 1st edition character. Sure you don't have any bonuses to hit, armor class, or hit points, but so what ?! The true enjoyment of character generation is not in your ability scores, it's in the backstory you come up with. Also, could you be a little less bored and disinterested. Most parents wouldn't even take the time to sit with their kids through character generation, let alone run an adventure. Try to be a little appreciative.

I started in AD&D 1e and I still find that the characters races are better developed than what has come since then. 3.0/3.5 and 4.0 are not the same game they just use the name and not as it should be... By the way munchkin characters suck ass! 2e had some ok things with initiative but the kits and other stuff was not AD&D or D&D for that matter...
