  • Blue Scholars is the definition of zen. Just another group that enjoys the art and does it with passion as well making a little money at the same time. Every body needs a second income.

  • I remember a few years ago when nobody bitched about being a hipster for diggin' underground rap.

    God damn kids.

  • This is simply the greatest album of all time

  • Who are they referring to in this song?

  • @stupidlalaland214 i just figured it out not long ago too.

"this ain't the *hope or the *change you imagined..." "middle name's hussein" and other presidential references.

    Barack "Hussein" Obama

  • As long the music and message is good who really cares if music is mainstream or underground along as it is good.

  • Fuck this man "I'm so cool I listen to underground fuck the mainstream and Lil Wayne is shit." Just listen to the music who cares if they are popular or not, does it even matter if they have good music?

  • FUCK ALL OF YOU

  • @jack91brum You are gonna be one busy person.

  • orgasm to my ears !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ phatlipsonify If you like Blue Scholars (and underground music) then you would be amazed to learn you probably don't know their best underground song. Here is one of their best songs no one even knows about : 27.

27 by Blue Scholars go check it out (yes, the name of the song is just 27, type it in youtube)

I hate to ask for thumbs up but I feel people should hear this...

  • @MustardPlug1000 True that, same annoying instrument in every song.

  • Sorry to say, but Cinemetropolis is, in my opinion, by far the weakest of the Blue Scholars albums. The lyrics and everything are still good, but I just hate the beats. The electronic techno kind of sound is really annoying.

  • @MustardPlug1000 Yeah i'm sorry to say as well. Ever since oof(thats the name of the mixtape right?) They have been trying this new style, which I respect cause I know artist need to grow. Just do not really like this as much.

  • @MustardPlug1000 Kinda like Lupe's new album right?

  • Intelligent Rap.

    ME GUSTA.

  • If you really enjoy Blue Scholars check out Common Market there just as good. They have songs that gives me that chill(Back Home is a good example)

  • @HerbalEnjoyment love the song Back Home. good call homie

  • @chinchilla1717171717 Check out 40 thieves and Nothin ' at all

  • Take my money. TAKE IT NOW.

  • Looks like one person needs to get ousted like Saddam Hussein for disliking this song!

  • who's the one face that doesn't like this?

  • "I'm playing chess, staying 4 steps ahead of the game." hahaha

    Now that's DOPE

  • From Denizen Kane....sickness

  • I hope these guys get discovered. Even if they turn mainstream, I want them still make music like this and not like the kind of mainstream songs you hear nowadays.

  • @MrDuncecap i saw them last night and was the very front (so close Geologic's sweat was tripping on me) and then i realized that no mainstream hip-hop group would ever preform in a small club and give it that much heart. Seeing them go big would be awesome and great for the group itself, but their true talent lies in the meaningful words they put out when they know not very many people were listening. not trying to be some fucking hipster (they piss me off too) but careful what you wish for haha

  • @MrDuncecap They are already discovered. It is impossible for them to turn mainstream without going back on their words, lyrics and ethics. Mainstream requires you to make music for the MAN, and the man thinks its best to make music that caters to production and selling products or fictional ideas. Videos and songs with homophobic and hyper-masculine tendencies. (Placing ideas to sell those shoes, or clothes..or advertise for strip clubs) Dehumanizing sh*t like that.I see the intention though.

  • @rjex313 Nicely put

  • i dgaf if this isnt seen as popular. its fucken awsome, there no need to hate on all the shit played on the radio, that irrelevant. This is whats up and thats all there is to it.

  • Fuckin' hate reading "I'm so underground" comments. Stop being hipster fags and spread the word for the artistry. Do you think Blue Scholars enjoys being unknown? No. No artist does. If you were really a fan, you wouldn't be so selfish as to feel special for having them all to yourselves. You'd actually WANT them to make it big.

  • @OriginFiles YES

  • @OriginFiles Word. I always bump these gemstones out loud.

  • @OriginFiles haha damnn whats with the hatred? And not to put you off your high horse but "underground" rappers are labeled that way because they are in the game for more thanb just money. There is a reason why mainstream rap sucksss dick and underground rap is dope as fuck because they are doing what thye want whenever they want. You can't do that when you get hella popular (wiz khalifa). So yeahh theyd rather be hella big in ther city and rep their area code. 206 for lifee!

  • yeah but in australia, you can go see Bloody Beetroots live.

  • I wish I could buy hard copies of this shit where I'm from (Australia). :(

I can't even find Nas albums at any media/music stores in my city. o.0

  • @ImRusko By definition, he makes poetry. Why are you pushing this so hard? Just relax and enjoy some good music, I believe that's why we are both here.

  • @ImRusko He doesn't make his own beats. He only writes the lyrics and they make NO sense what-so-ever. Its garbage and yet he gets paid millions. I'm not being ignorant, I'm being informed.

  • Underground is what happens when the Mainstream reaches an aquifer recharge zone.

  • God damn those BEATS! And the rappers kill it EVERYTIME! Blue Scholars is one of those underrated rap groups that are better then main stream. One of my favorite groups.

  • Damn Cinemetropolis is prob one of there best albums yett

  • i could be totally wrong, but is this song occasionally referencing to obama?

  • @elfnamedbuddy i think so i mean the first line is "Yo, this aint the hope or change you imagined"

  • @milton1194 yeah i noticed that too. plus he says, "middle name Hussein". obamas middle name is hussein

  • @elfnamedbuddy ...duh bruh

  • @Nickschades chll bruh

  • ok. this is a great song. but i have never seen a song without at least one dislike. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

that just shows how good they are.

  • im happy they can still crank out the sickest beats in the game

  • @MrHighAsKite although i think chiddy bang cranks our some sick beats that gives the blue scholars a run for their money.

  • the scholars make me so proud to be from Seattle. their lyrics and beats are so dope

  • To phatlipsonify and 206agerz, there is a middle road where you can stay loyal to underground, and dig a little mainstream. We just have to accept that there will always be a mainstream or pop culture. So even if we like to party rock with some radio music, we always have some nice underground to go back to. And if mainstream heads roll around and it makes you itch, well it's their loss, they're missing out. Don't stress this modern situation too much, just keep supporting underground, peace.

  • This beat is just.... Mind blowing.

  • Denizen Kane shout out ftw.

  • Shout out to the SEA. No other city like it.

  • streight outta washington

  • Mason FOster

  • I truly think all us underground loyals look for the same thing.. and that is that feeling of chills running down your spine when you find those beats and lyrics so real and so dope you just sit back and ask Why is this not more popular? Then quickly realize, oh yeah, this aint mainstream.. this is too real for mainstream.. this isnt fake and washed up like mainstream.. THIS is one of those songs.

    DOPE

  • @phatlipsonify You are a HUGE FAG. I love Blue Scholars more than the next man. I am an avid fan of your so called "underground" music. But people like you walking around with your nose in the air thinking you are so high and mighty because you only like this music that is "too real for mainstream" are a joke. Life doesn't have to be serious all the time. Sometimes Waka No Hands is what you need, it doesnt mean you're "fake". EAT DICK phatlipsonify

  • @206agertz When i say "too real for mainstream" i mean it and Im defending THE MUSIC not pointing my nose in the air. Hip hop on the radio has these in common. Sex, drugs, violence. Why? Because it sells. Thats all these major producers care about. Going around YouTube telling people they think they are "high and mighty" and telling them to "EAT DICK" when you know nothing about them really shows you know what a lot of underground hip-hop is about.. Peace man, i recommend some nujabes for real.

  • @phatlipsonify - You applied the average quality of mainstream music as a requirement of being such in your original comment, which is complete bullshit, and in itself makes you an elitist for discriminating against actual quality of music based on categorization. Next you implied the rapping about sex, drugs, and violence has no artistic merit at all, which shows that you're most likely an ignorant suburbanite kid. And thirdly, underground hip hop isn't about anything, it's just not well known

  • @206agertz He's what we like to call a "Hipster" haha

  • @206agertz i think you misunderstood what phatlipsonify was trying to say

  • @milton1194 No I understood perfectly clear what he was saying. He's a dick..

  • @phatlipsonify this whole album gives me chills. 80 degrees outside and i got goosebumps like no other

  • @phatlipsonify hit it on the head, my man!!!

  • @strasselberry Hit nothing on the head but ignorant bullshit and showing off his true colors. Being a COCK SUCKER. FUCK YOU UNDERGROUND "Loyals". These dudes gotta feed there family so dont hate when they get big and start selling albums. Not everyone comes from a life of white privalege a.k.a. Underground rap fans. GET MONEY FUCK BITCHES and COKE RAPS ARE the TRILLEST.

  • @206agertz Woahhhhhhh bro. Many underground artists aren't from a life of "white privilege" They work just as hard as you're money, bitch and coke rap artists. Now respect to them for the music they create, but you can't go bashing other peoples music just because you think they are privileged. Sure some artists had an easier time than others but they still had to work at it. Peace and love brah, get rid of your anger.

  • @phatlipsonify You explained this so much. Mainstream is fake. I seriously can not agree with you any more

  • @phatlipsonify GOSH ITS SO UNDERGROUND, Shut up hipster. Music is music.

  • @Dhafeez55555 hipster? haha do people still say that?

  • @Dhafeez55555 Music is not always music. I.e. Lil Wayne.

  • Comment removed

  • @phatlipsonify this is good that it's not to popular. everything that (at least for me) goes main stream just kills the music. underground is better

  • @phatlipsonify If you really enjoy Blue Scholars check out Common Market there just as good. They have songs that gives me that chill(Back Home is a good example)

  • where can i buy the album? i wanna support and buy this shit.

  • @evolancer900 bluescholars.bandcamp.com

  • It took me way too long to realize the text changes color.

  • That's my 206! All the way nice...

  • FIRE...creating that hiphopARTrightHERE25 times a second

  • so. good.

  • album is DOPE!!!!

  • Geo and Sabzi just kill it everytime.
