The E/G# and like chords are as such: An E chord with a low G# note in place of the root not. So play an E chord and add the G# note from the low E string on the 4th fret. Yes it's a stretch. It also means that the bass player usually plays the second note, in this case the G# along with the guitar player. For all you guitar players out there who really hate bar chords:

All you need is the E shape!

Just start strumming that E on GAVE: "Freely you GAVE".

Then when you get to "Surrendered your LIFE", slide that E shape up 7 frets.

On "great is the LOVE", slide it down 2 frets from there... And if you want a cool sound take the finger closest to you off the string on "poured out for ALL".

And finally, back to E for "this is our GOD".

I am not a fan of prosperity Gospel either. I believe God wants to bless us immensely also. I just don't think it should be the main focus of any church's message, as it is known for giving people a false hope, and encourages our focus on material things. God says clearly in the Bible that He wants to bless us. But too often we use His words to assume He will bless materially, rather than spiritually or through the gift we will receive in Heaven. Understand however, I've never been to Hillsong.
