Most people don't think of it like this, but music really isn't just a song. It's and expression of self and opinion. I'm a soldier in the military and in a sense I'm antiwar in that fact that I don't like going to war. I don't think countries should fight each other over stupid things such as a difference in religion or beliefs. There is always room for compromise, but that's not exactly human nature. We have military power because there will always be war. Self destruction is human nature.

It's actually not true. I live in New Brunswick, probably the most ill-equipped province in all of Canada for Medical staffing and facilities, and we don't have to wait months.
Hell, Emergency service is fairly prompt, and there's never really a long wait. As far as transplants and serious things go, it can take a while on the waiting list to get one of those, but that's taken in priority to who's in the worst condition, that could use the transplant most imminently.

I belive in economic freedom and free markets yes, so if that makes me "far right" so be it but I dont look at right vs left. The point i was getting to was that the federal government has increasingly intervened in healthcare system in the US through Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's and countless regulations on doctors, hospitals and health-insurance companies. These government policies cause prices to skyrocket and the availability of medical services to decline.
Also stuff like mandated benefits put in place by the government raise health insurance costs, which leads to more and more uninsured workers whos employers wont offer it. That is one of the real tragedy's, and one major reason we have so many uninsured people in the US.
True, but half of the reasons those mandates and bills come into effect is because of the sheer amount of privatized health care lobbyists and influence in the U.S. Senate as is. They buy off members of state to vote for bills that work in their favour, which then allow companies that produce drugs to charge whatever they like for their products.
Lobbyists are a huge problem, and it goes far beyond healthcare. The fact that lobbyists have the power to influence anything with health care should prove exactly the reason why government should be out of the picture. There are many disconnects when it comes to public opinion on the war. I'm in the military. I have seen some wicked things over there. I don't think we should still be there. But, I don't have all the facts and I've been there myself. Our current president was die hard about getting our troops out but, on day one, he received his first intel briefing and he saw many things he knew nothing about before. If we all had that kind of information, we could form a more informed opinion

First thing first, "Devour", not "Devours". Definately my favourite Shinedown song. Brent has explained that the songs is an adress to Bush, concerning US military involvement in the Middle East. But in my mind, I don't find that meaning. I just keep it simple, and I think it's about wanting to do something about the tragic situation that most of the world suffer from, but knowing that you can't. Most people don't think of it like this, but music really isn't just a song. It's and expression of self and opinion. I'm a soldier in the military and in a sense I'm antiwar in that fact that I don't like going to war. I don't think countries should fight each other over stupid things such as a difference in religion or beliefs. There is always room for compromise, but that's not exactly human nature. We have military power because there will always be war. Self destruction is human nature.

you should worry about your own mistakes before you start pointing fingers. For example, there should have been a comma after "enough" as well as after "them." Also, since you apparently like to talk about tense, you should realize that the correct word to use at the end of that sentence would be "made," as in "the same mistakes the guy in the video made."
One last thing: there is a distinct difference between being smart and being educated. You, apparently, are only the latter.

Look at Third World Countries that have Privatized Health Care, Sweat Shops, and various other subsidiaries that are all owned by American corporations.
Look at various South American Countries that have been influenced by the U.S., and see what's happening there.

The U.S. is the ONLY western country that hasn't Socialized health care, and if you look at health care subsidiaries like Humana and the big insurance companies, you'll see the increase in profits and the lack of coverage.

It's actually not true. I live in New Brunswick, probably the most ill-equipped province in all of Canada for Medical staffing and facilities, and we don't have to wait months.
Hell, Emergency service is fairly prompt, and there's never really a long wait. As far as transplants and serious things go, it can take a while on the waiting list to get one of those, but that's taken in priority to who's in the worst condition, that could use the transplant most imminently.

The point i was getting to was that the federal government has increasingly intervened in healthcare system in the US through Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's and countless regulations on doctors, hospitals and health-insurance companies. True, but half of the reasons those mandates and bills come into effect is because of the sheer amount of privatized health care lobbyists and influence in the U.S. Senate as is. They buy off members of state to vote for bills that work in their favour, which then allow companies that produce drugs to charge whatever they like for their products.

Lobbyists are a huge problem, and it goes far beyond healthcare. The fact that lobbyists have the power to influence anything with health care should prove exactly the reason why government should be out of the picture. If the government wasnt doing so much awful regulation like passing the horrid HMO Act in 1973, you wouldnt have these bastards there in the first place since they know the goverment likes to micro-managed healthcare. And yes got good laughs out of Micheal Moores bias film

True, it was biased as all hell, but there were solid facts in there. The fact that HMO's now own the U.S. Government being one. The fact that it's been going on since the days of NIxon being another.
I honestly think the only reason it's still going on is because they keep lining the pockets of the officials.
I mean, maybe it's not the idea of government run health care that's the issue, so much as Health care that's run by the current government. Or maybe the answer lies somewhere else...

Yeah Mike takes bias it to a mind-boggling level, and even the few facts he had he distorted by making it seem like 1 party is to blame when there ALL to blame lol. And yeah imo the answer lies in a TRUE free market health care system, which we havent had in ages. People are led to belive capitalism is the devil when we havent had true capitalism. As early as the 60s people got high quailty care at low prices, and there was many charity hospitals for the people who still couldnt afford it

Maybe, but then again, I've always been against the way the current, and in fact, past monetary systems have worked. I won't deny I'm pretty much a communist, but I only am because I abhor greed, which is what I see free markets leading to. I mean, I'm not saying the government should handle everything, and I'm not saying capitalism is the devil, but money in of itself... It's just a way of saying who owes who what and in what amount. Not to mention inflation is always building on those debts.

I mean, I guess the way I look at it, is that most of this is a very "Honor system" sort of thing, but in truth, no one is honorable, because everyone is always looking out for themselves. I've always been a "put others before me" kinda guy, and buy into that whole "Good of the whole" business, but at the same time, you have to wonder if that "whole" isn't corrupted. Maybe if everyone quit lining their pockets first, and giving people what they paid for, it wouldn't be so bad.

Yeah inflation is a huge problem due to insane record deficits from Bush & Obama. And I respect your right to what you belive in which is "the good of the whole". However in this countrys past free markets have proven to be much better at closeing the gap to those in need than the government through charity, community, family, and church. Also the more the government just gives handouts, the more incentive there is to bascially..do nothing OR not strive to succeed as much as you possibly can

True, and I suppose competition is a good thing, but that also breeds Hitler like thinking... I guess it's all in finding a balance, really. Hell, half the reason Wal-Mart has the power it does is because it doesn't really have any competitors; at the same time, someone needs to crack down on it's employment of slave labor in third world countries. But that's off topic.

Well Hitler was a Socialist so im not sure I follow you there sorry about that. But Wal-Mart has plenty of competitors like Target, K-mart, Sears, and countless grocery stores. However, there #1 solidly because of there low prices that most places have a hard time compareing with. Now you take this bad economy for example...Wal-Mart of course will prosper big time because people are cutting back on there spending quite a bit. Not sure how much competiton they have in Canada though.

True, but at the same time, there's no one who can match their prices, like you've said, and in Canada, their only competitor is Zellers, who have pretty much gone Broke as is.
Wal-Mart and McDonalds are starting to take over the world fiscally. Hell, they have more accumulated wealth than some fairly wealthy countries. The way I see it, it's only a matter of time.

There are many disconnects when it comes to public opinion on the war. I'm in the military. I have seen some wicked things over there. I don't think we should still be there. But, I don't have all the facts and I've been there myself. Our current president was die hard about getting our troops out but, on day one, he received his first intel briefing and he saw many things he knew nothing about before. If we all had that kind of information, we could form a more informed opinion

I think just about everyone in the world wishes we could have peace. I just don't understand how people like him cannot seem to connect the dots when it comes to having peace. There can't be peace when there are millions of people provoking & beating on you and trying to destroy you. If he would like to just get on his knees and let them chop his head off, that's his perogative. It'd put us one step closer to world peace. The rest of us would prefer to keep living in later than the 7th century.
