@Deymosician Thats not what makes something a Bankai lol... thats coincidence. She just called it "Minazuki" Bankai have 2 names(except Soi Fon for some reason =I) and Kubo likes to make Bankai uses epic... nothing something offscreen that you can shrug off like that. Im fairly sure he says a command and Minazuki and makes that thing, and you have to say "Bankai" to use it.... so no, this was definitely not her bankai.

You guys know it right...the fake gigai of Unohana did stated that 4th Squad captain must not involve in the battle at all cause because all the captains are depending on her to survive...i mean...Unohana really holds a very strong position in Gotei 13...if she join the battle herself...and ignoring her foremost priority...is to heal and recuperate the injured....Gotei 13 might suffer great lost.

@lonehawk2k4 I disagree. Aizens Kyokasuigetsu has the ability of complete hypnosis. The only 2 captains that had a chance against him were Yamamoto Genryusai and Kaname Tousen. Everybody else would've died instantaneously. The only reason people were spared was bc Aizen knew he was stronger and didn't try until it was too late. The shear power of Yamamotos reitsu and his battle experience (I'd say) would probably help him to differentiate some real from something fake and Kaname being blind and

Yamamoto at the time was the strongest thing we had seen, so of course he had trouble. Aizen beat all the vizards, a bunch of captains and lietenants all at once without even trying. He was fighting Isshin Urahara and Yoruichi fairly well considering it was 3v1. All of this was pre-hougyoku too... With hougyoku hes just overkill

I am just hypothesizing that Retsu unohana is the 4th division captain because she must have such a powerful bankai that she decided sometime in her past that she must be a healing captain so that no one will ever be hurt from her bankai. Kinda makes sense since she heals everyone she sees that is injured, including espadas back in the hueco mundo arc. That must be why she never engages in combat also since she is so powerful that she doesn't want anyone to be killed or injured by her power.

Kubo should have written the story that Unohana was the main villian and the one disguising herself as a benevolent captain in order to take down soul society. Her reason should have been since she cares for both the enemy and her allies that she felt sympathy for the hollows and believed that they should co-exist with soul society, considering the royal families' choice she wanted to take it upon herself to overpower them in order to become the overall balancing factor

@DarkLightFusion Yeah, it is not clear that is shikai or bankai, people just tend to copy one other and say that is shikai. But, I personally think this form is a bankai. The ending with Mad Surfer song shows the silhouette of some zanpakutous in shikai form, except the ones that scatters (Senbonzakura, Haineko), Minazuki is in a common katana shape there. It COULD mean that her shikai does not change the shape of her weapon or scatters in a healing fog (maybe).
in this part of anime, a bankai's was talked about something really big and powerfull (not now in these last episodes) so they would'nt show a bankai without showing her releasing it.. another reason is that Bankais always have 2 names.. Minazuki is only one name.. but certainly, you are correct by saying that this is a huge form for a shikai, but no matter what you say.. its a shikai for sure!!
I think the way her sword is slightly longer is cool,kind of like in that one Ep, when Ichigos Dad says how the bigger sword,the more powerful the Shinigami,but that captain condense it to a more handy size. @MrRJSTALEY Yea she is second in strength stats wise since Yamamoto and Aizen are equal in stats. That being said the stats don't necassarily mean that one person would definitely beat another. For example lets say Kira achieved Bankai and it was a better version of his Shikai. I would say that Komamura evne if his stats were higher would have a extremely hard time beating him simply b/c of the clash of their special abilities.

4 is death number in japan, Retsu means violent, and Manta Ray killed Steve Irwin. I hope Tite have a really good plan for her or he will be ruin it.. coz it's too damn long! Aizen arc pt. 2 will be the day for Unohana and 2 other great captains (Ukitake and Kyoraku). Aizen still alive and Fullbright arc is totally ridiculous... thank God they give us good filler.

@elferi This manga/anime was COMPLETE shit from the end of soul society arc till aizen got defeated. It was good at soul society arc, before it, and now the fullbring arc. Most fans admit this and if you actually enjoy fillers and butterflizen, you fail hard as a human being.

Like: wokiro - Benihime, shire - Senbonzakura, howelo - Zabimaru, unaru - Haineko, mai -Sode no Shirayuki, Soten nisase(n?) - Hyourinamru, kare - Kazeshini and so on.
I don't know if I missed it or if it's not shown, but I whant to know if anyone knows TwT

Kubo should have written the story that Unohana was the main villian and the one disguising herself as a benevolent captain in order to take down soul society. Her reason should have been since she cares for both the enemy and her allies that she felt sympathy for the hollows and believed that they should co-exist with soul society, considering the royal families' choice she wanted to take it upon herself to overpower them in order to become the overall balancing factor

Minazuki IS a SiHIKAI form!
Unohana didn't even say Bankai and beside, she is a 4th Squad Captain.
It is a possibility that she has reached Bankai since she a Captain but doesn't fight and only heals.

@SPGenerationUK Not a possibility, she SHOULD have one. It's a requirement to becoming a captain. Mind you, she does fight, by stats she is the 2nd strongest captain, just below Yama-jii himself.

@DarkLightFusion Yeah, it is not clear that is shikai or bankai, people just tend to copy one other and say that is shikai. But, I personally think this form is a bankai. The ending with Mad Surfer song shows the silhouette of some zanpakutous in shikai form, except the ones that scatters (Senbonzakura, Haineko), Minazuki is in a common katana shape there. It COULD mean that her shikai does not change the shape of her weapon or scatters in a healing fog (maybe).

Guys- Minazuki is really a shikai form
in this part of anime, a bankai's was talked about something really big and powerfull (not now in these last episodes) so they would'nt show a bankai without showing her releasing it.. another reason is that Bankais always have 2 names.. Minazuki is only one name.. but certainly, you are correct by saying that this is a huge form for a shikai, but no matter what you say.. its a shikai for sure!!

I think the way her sword is slightly longer is cool,kind of like in that one Ep, when Ichigos Dad says how the bigger sword,the more powerful the Shinigami,but that captain condense it to a more handy size. Since her condensed sword is still pretty big,she most really be strong.(But I would like to see her charge in two-handed,screaming like Xena :-P)

@MrRJSTALEY Yea she is second in strength stats wise since Yamamoto and Aizen are equal in stats. That being said the stats don't necassarily mean that one person would definitely beat another. For example lets say Kira achieved Bankai and it was a better version of his Shikai. I would say that Komamura evne if his stats were higher would have a extremely hard time beating him simply b/c of the clash of their special abilities.

@wakamene agreeed,also it should be noted she's a medic,she can heal herself,something Yamamoto and Aizne without the Hyugkou can't do,combine that with her knowlegde of the human body,she knows vital weakpoints and with her kedo mastery could probaly bring down someone even strgoner than her before they can coutnerattack.as for Kira learning Bankai,if Sajin fought him at that state,his bankai would be the worst match agaisnt a griravty Bankai

It's odd that out of all shikia that we know of hers is like a Bankia considering it turns into a creature or something for her to control. I suppose it is possible that it is her Bankia but I don't see him showing a Captains Bankia without saying so. I wonder what its capabilities are?
