  • I have seen similar fixtures at the Hyatt in Buffalo, NY, where it has same Otis floor indicator but the elevator was a Westy.

  • The floor display is an incandescent projection display. I have an old Parabam digital clock that uses those. A grid of light bulbs and lenses is mounted with one for each digit (on a photographic slide). Of course, you can make it display anything you want for each aspect by changing the slide.

  • Do you get a high from those elevators?

  • that indicator is very nice and looks vintage.

  • It is, Otis used it a lot in the 1970's. They stopped making it around the time Series 1 and Series 2 were introduced. They also developed a version of their VFD floor indicator that could be used to replace these mechanical ones: it was round so it would fit in the old display's cutout.

  • Where do you get the kind of time to go to elevators and film them?

  • It's a hobby... Where do you get the time to watch these videos?

  • I guess so, and these look more like Westinghouse elevators.

  • According to Emporis, Otis made the elevators in the building.

  • Interesting, since there was a Dover elevator in the Texas Capitol Complex that looked similar to this one, with the Westinghouse-style lobby & fixtures.

  • I think They were Origanaly Otis And Modernized by westinghouse in the early 1990s im guessing.

  • Possibly, but these might be Otis elevators with Epco CircleLine fixtures.

  • Is there a Bank of America Plaza in every major city?

  • They have them at most cities, even small ones like Columbia and Greenville.

  • Sadly, Boston doesn't have one. :(

  • There used to be two in Columbia, one 17 floors and the other 21 floors. The 21 floor one is now the Wilbur Smith Associates Tower.
