@mightymannie Thank you :'D I bought 2 yds of one shade, 1 yd of the second lighter shade (for the stripes), and 1/2 yd for the hood... I plan to sew stripes of the second color onto the first, then use the resulting material to make my hoodie. I'm looking forward to the final product; it should look amazing. Thank you :)

Hello :) I'm making a Cheshire Cat hoodie for Halloween this year, and I was curious how I could sew stripes onto my hoodie (like, two different purple fabrics)? Also, this may sound stupid, but.. should I buy a sewing machine?

@themelancholickitten Hey :D One way you can do it is by looking for fabric that is stripey purple, that would definitely be the easiest option. The other way is that you can sew the whole hoodie with lighter purple, then sew on stripes of darker purple around the hoodie afterward. And to the question of should you buy a sewing machine... mmm.. do you sew a lot? If so then I guess it would be quite useful to have a sewing machine :)

@RawrNicki I measure from one shoulder to another, that would be my width, as for the length I measure from shoulder to thigh~ And then I add in 1 yard for the hood and the bands :)
