@Thekaratekid101 This is my personal opinion: The bunkai of the kata depends on the original creators of the kata and the specific time the kata was created. Wansu kata is older than Isshinryu. Before saying what bunkai is accurate one first must know who made the kata, who made the bunkai, who thought Shimabuku that kata and its bunkai. One must ask the question what is a kata? Because the bunkai is the explanation of the kata. A kata is a catalog of techniques that are relates "similar".

@migueyannette So if the kata is a catalog of techniques that are related that means that the kata is rule by a global strategy (the relation between thechniques). Remember this is my personal opinion and believe . The bunkai you saw on the video is more effective and logical than many other bunkais thought in Isshinryu. If you consider that in ancient times your life depended on your techniques it makes perfect sense to keep them secret so many of this thechniques are not know by many people.

Thanks I'm honored by your comment. I'm a student of Kyoshi Javier Martinez and we practice all katas the way you saw in the video. Kata and bunkai (application). I have learn and I believe that movements in a kata are not random, all movements in a kata are connected by a global strategy. One could say that a Kata is a group of techniques that are related. For example all techniques in Wansu kata target the elbow and the kata teaches you the four ways to manipulate it.
