Awesome song! I love the dynamic breakdown towards the end. JB and Seal are both ridiculously talented individuals! Bass player and drummer nailed it man!
well said i don't know any major player that has ever tried to cover beck a wizard a true force of nature ....hendrix the poet and guitar wonder of the ages was served well by this homage....i've never heard anyone cover a hendrix tune with such conviction ...i think he raised the bar an inch on this one
Beck and Hendrix jammed together in NYC at the Scene Club . The Electric Lady studio was nearby. Hendrix reputedly recorded everyday of his professional life - somewhere out there is a tape of it.
Jeff Beck is truly an icon no matter what anybody else says... an awesome human being with extraordinary talent in the big picture of musical history. And Seal has proven himself to be a very talented singer capable of amazing vocal performances on demand. A great combination of power and grace here! One of my favorite pieces of modern music in my library today! Thanks for posting this video!!
Hendrix, in an interview, discussed listening to Beck. IMHO, Beck is the best we got now. Jeff is on record as saying that, "A guy like that only comes once in a lifetime..." Typical Beck: a class act.
Beck doesnt need to sound nor does he want sound like hendrix. Beck is a beast and believe it or not I like this version better Jeff is a fucking monster on this track. drums would make Mitch proud as well
Beck nails Hendrix on this one. it's amazing to me how many guitarist SAY they sound like Hendrix, but Beck does it better than anyone. even his tone is that of Jimi. Their is no one like Jeff. SRV can do Jimi, but NOBODY can do Jeff.
@KILLERDYNOCRUISERS Great comment. Jeff was one of the first people Hendrix wanted to meet when he arrived in London. Clapton was the second one he wanted to meet.
@JeffBeckAndFriends Man, I've seen Beck do some AMAZING things with his Strat plugged STRAIGHT into a Marshall. Ritchie Blackmore also says Beck pulls notes from a guitar that no other player can. Beck is always on the edge and is not afraid to stretch the boundaries of the guitar.
@KILLERDYNOCRUISERS I disagree. Beck doesn't sound like Hendrix at all, he sounds like Beck. The tone, vibrato, and especially the tremolo bar antics are all Beck. Eric Johnson can do a closer tone to Hendrix IMHO. And i think Eric Gales does a better Hendrix than Beck, or SRV. Nobody wants to give Eric Gales any credit though.
@KILLERDYNOCRUISERS I agree with most of this statement, but I believe srv to be a better jimi, and I think steve vai is beck on roids. Just my opinion, dont take me for an expert.
Had this album since it first came out. This clearly is the best tribute on it, although Living colour does a great job with Crosstown Traffic.

Hendrix always played like he was playing the riff for the very first time. Beck goes down that highway here.

Very satisfying - I love how they play it so closely to the original, it actually does it justice.
