This must be the same royal institute that Carl Sagan, Richard Dawkins and Simon Conway Morrism lectured in, interesting. He can put an incridably complex idea and just put it into the most fabulously simple context. That part about star signs tatooed on someone's bottom was hilarious, so him to say that so bluntly. He should have mentioned something called Carbon nanotubes.
@78389 One off but check out the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures usually telivised (google for the Wiki page and check the Television part in the link)
@identity97 Uhh..PEP applies to ANY shell...including the Universe. Professor Brian Cox is a proper physicist and works for CERN on the ATLAS program @ the LHC.
@identity97 erm, he is a proffessional lecturer at manchester university of physics, he also works at CERN, someone who has a "professorship" in media would never be able to do that, learn your facts
@identity97 is there really a need for swearing? And he clearly does know what he's on about, as not just anyone can become a lecturer at the worlds best physics school
@Jewmanjie I decided to remove all my posts as 1) clearly nobody is going to explain why the uniqueness of each electron necessarily extends to the set of every electron in the Universe - instead people are only going to defend Coxy 2) it's Christmas. Never feed trolls after midnight on Friday. I am right though - it's spelt "professor."
@identity97 The problem with satisfactorily answering your inquiry is that the full complete answer would require an extended understanding of quantum physics beyond the character limit here. Your only real options for an answer if you really want one is to either a) accept that experiment has supported the theory behind that statement as performed by others, or b) begin your education and understanding of physics and quantum mechanics, and through your own experimentation support or disprove.
This is one of the best bits of T.V I have seen in such a long time, I really really hope they do more. If they do I may consider paying for a license ;)
