Korg Mono/Poly - Arps & more

I own one of these too, and you would need at least 10 videos like this to show all that it can do!

Anyway, good demo, and more importantly good sound quality.

Korg's best effort to compete with the Minimoog, which was just discontinued when the Mono/Poly came out.

In fact this synth has very little Korg electronics in it, unlike the MS20. It should have been called the E-mu Systems Mono/Poly, since the oscillator chips and filter chip are from that company which made modular synths.

Ich kann mir selbst nicht erklären, warum ich den MP immer links liegen gelassen hab. Vielleicht habe ich vor zig Jahren mal einen Testbericht gelesen in dem der MP-4 nicht so gut bei weggekommen ist. Keine Ahnung.

;) Die Synths waren ja nicht immer so teuer und begehrt wie heute. Es gab Zeiten, da bekam man analoge Synths fast geschenkt. Jeder wollte nur den dicksten Sampler und das bestklingenste Piano haben. Sampler bekommt man heute hinterher geworfen. Die Zeiten ändern sich.

Der JX-8P ist ein sehr guter Synth mit dem typischen 80s Roland Sound.

glaubst du diese zeiten kommen bald zurück? hab meine liebe zu synthies zu spät entdeckt : ) da wird man echt neidisch wenn man so viele analoge perlen sieht ; )

leider ist mein jx-8p nicht 100% in ordnung, im unisono modus spielt er einwandfrei, aber beim poly-modus erklingen einige tasten nicht immer wie sie es sollten (eher dumpf), habs sogar mit midi fernsteuerung versucht, da ist dann genau das gleiche problem. kennst du das problem? ich weiß echt nicht was zu tun ist : (

nunja der Klangcharakter der Roland Synths ist einfach anders, ich würde sagen wärmer und voller. Der Mono/Poly kann sehr hart klingen. Trotzdem hat der Korg seinen ganz besonderen Charme.

vielen dank - da ist man doch auf den 2.teil gespannt ...

der mono/poly und der polysix waren damals anfang der 80er für mich zwei traumgeräte (die ich nur im musik-shop anspielen konnte, die lagen damals ausserhalb meines budgets) - ich war sowieso immer eher ein korg-fan. alleine das design fand ich gelungener als bei vielen anderen damaligen synthesizern.

spielt für dich eigentlich das optische auch eine rolle oder zählt wirklich nur das, was dann aus den boxen herauskommt?

Das war hinten raus kommt ist natürlich das Wichtigste. Und hier überzeugt der MP einfach. Die Optik und Haptik sind aber auch nicht unwichtig. Ich selbst lege großen Wert auf gepflegte Geräte.

Ich bin zwar durch und durch ein Moog-Fan, aber der Mono/Poly hat wirklich einen sehr guten Sound. Seine Vielseitigkeit ist natürlich das allerbeste.

Der Mono/Poly klingt absolut anders als die Moog`s denn ein Moog Filter ist ein Moog Filter. Der MP ist extrem vielseitig und kann auch mächtig die Wände wackeln lassen. Die Kiste wird ziemlich unterschätzt.

Moin Marko, wo hastn das Schätzchen aufgetrieben? Und dann noch anscheinend in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Habe vor kurzem ein geniale Synth-Version von "Wipeout" von Synthjunkie gehört, der hat auch den Mono/Poly für gebraucht.

Monopoly - Gehen sie über Los und kassieren Sie einen Synth-Klassiker ... :D
