I'm part of a family line whose last name happens to be "Lathrop." Found it funny to see a town called "Lathrop" in California. Probably nothing to do with the family, but I found it interesting.
lathrop is a brainchild of the southern pacific railroad. stockton did not want to dance to the big 4's fiddle and did not accomodate them. the railroad said, "ok, then we will not build a railroad there. we'll make our own town, in fact". leland stanford named the town aftr his brother in law, charles lathrop. this was supposed to be a big railroad town. didnt quite work out that way.
This video is a total farce. You only filmed the industrial areas with all the factories and what not. Film the blocks you skipped, like all the stores on the side of the freeway. Cutbacks on law enforcement in a town like lathrop mean squat, just because it is such a small town where not much happens. There has always been an armed forces base in lathrop nothing new, nothing that has been brought on by the economy. If anything do the town justice and film it as a whole.
@sethbrundle8 you are a total farce. this vid shows just one side of the highway - the west side has massive gaps as well. now be quiet before i make you i make you be my bacha
Now, wait just a dag-blamed segundo here pardner, you're simultaneously putting out collapse videos and recommending people trade fiat money for durable goods (I'm all with ya there) and buying something with zero Survival Value & as superfluous as a car audio voltage stabilizer? I'm just busting yer chops man, but I thought it was funny. Keep on putting out your videos, I like 'em!
Half a million sq. ft., what can be done with that building? Probably nothing. We have empty buildings here in Denver too. Doing research on 38's revolvers right now. We have a gun show at the end of the month were going to. I will hopefully make a decision soon, to many choices. Have a great day Groove, nice video.
@mja2035 Hi,if you are a first time gun or pistol owner let me see if i can narrow down the choices for you if you dont mind, if its your first pistol i would suggest buying a revolver, easier to operate, they just wont jam, I would start with a .357 ..i prefer Ruger, a .38 just does not have the knock down power you might really need and its easier to handle than larger caliber revolvers, i would also seriously consider getting a shotgun, if its your first, make it a pump in 12,16 or 20 guage
@craigalan100 Thank You for taking the time to reply, I have no pistol or shotgun at this time, I'm just doing my research right now. Things are still safe here southwest of Denver, but I'm not sure for our future, so I'm shopping around. I want a revolver pistol for me and the wife to protect ourselves in the future. I don't want something she can't handle too. I will look at the .357 and Groove has recommended the Ruger, so I'm looking at them too. Have a great day.
@mja2035 no problem..the .357 depending on your wife's size and strength might be a little much at first but some gun shops have ranges right inside the store where you can safely try out guns (rent) different calibers,if its too much i would suggest that for her you might consider an auto then in the size of .380 ,,,i think women now a days should take a concealed carry course and that size is great for a lady because it still has very good knock down power and its not too strong to handle.
@craigalan100 We went to our local gun store where they train you to have a conceal and carry license. That's what we eventually want to achieve, so that when we go camping here in Colorado we can bring our gun with us. They were showing us the .380 because of the size. We will take the course soon and still do our research on which gun we feel comfortable with. Thanks for your advice, it advanced our knowledge, and I'll keep you posted. Keep watching DJGrooveline.
Gee, this is not what I see going on in Charleston South Carolina. Boeing is there. Google is there. The ports and truck depots are busy. Everybody is there except UNIONS and welfare is discouraged----and so are illegal aliens! But alas, I'm stuck in "Sewer Soon City" California.
@djgrooveline fine then, here in the affluent West SanJo/Saratoga area - I paid 3.57prg last week at the 'cheap' place and just today, it was 3.89. get ready folks, it's gonna get BAD soon.
When I was unemployed in 1998 I did a few inventories of commercial real estate, as an indication of the condition of the economy. You are correct, empty commercial space indicates a poor economy, and new construction is good. BTW -- I have friends in construction and the old car lots are getting remodeled. So, look at old car lots and furniture stores. Watch durables like refrigerators, washer/dryers, and "man cave" home theaters, pool tables, etc.
@djgrooveline I agree, ive seen massive amounts of empty commercial real estate on the east coast and a lot of newer built stuff also,it just sits there, including Doctor offices, brand new, with one practice in the building that could hold ten, lots of new commercial buildings empty or with just one buisiness, towns with classified ads that took 18 to 20 pgs. 4 years ago now have 2 or 3 pgs. Im stocking on food, supplies and ammo. when gas is 6 to 8 a gallon this summer. food will real pricey.
@djgrooveline Well some odd sized stuff..but thats what ive inherited 16 gauge for the pump, buckshot, bird and squirrel and slugs.....soon it will be 30.06 as soon as i get the ole man to hand over the 03A3 1943 Remington bolt action, which should be very soon and of course my Ruger 10/22 and as much .380 as possible...but ...extremely limited funds, trying to get food and all that ready too. Im pretty good with all of them except for the military rifle...but that wont take long, soon as i get it
It's past time for us to get down off our high horse and get to know one another.
How can it be more plain; of course this situation, our financial health and welfare, took a long time to get like this. It'll take 10 times longer to get out of
If we start making good decisions now, such as getting personally healthy and spiritually fit, and be willing to re-establish networks for ourselves, we have a chance
The least of it is that our great grand kids might have half a chance
This is so sad. I spent many days of my life in Lathrop when it was just developing. I sold many homes - before the market went nuts - to many good, hard working people. Most of them used their homes as credit cards - refinancing like nuts - and have lost their homes since. It is painful. Take care! ~ Mary Ann

@babaloo42 we've seena corporate takeover, financial coup de tat style. and like every take over, many will lose jobs, the assets striped and sold off, then reorganization. its going to get so ugly in the near future.
@djgrooveline Corporate take-over! This is the first time I have realized this is EXACTLY what it is. Thanks! Next comes new false promises, re-organization, and down-sizing of older workers (breaking of old promises).
