I haven't heard this song in over 20 years but I never forgot it and still often find myself singing the chorus, and this was the version that always stuck with me.
A great band that never got the credit they deserved. You are not forgotten about. Love your CD fron 1987, and still listen to it. Every song is AWESOME!
We are finally releasing our first CD, recorded "live" in the studio just a week ago. This is a 13 song full length album of original songs, performed by a rockin' band, jammin' together in a studio, working off each other for the energy that only comes when you're playing live. We will have copies of the CD available when we play Saturday, April 30th at Club 705 in Hermosa Beach.

Great song. The New Monkees did have talent. I will agree with all their fans on that one. I think if the Monkees name wasn't used, they would have been bigger and no controversy.
Imagine if the 1960s Monkees were (if remembered) judged only on their first album, before their individual talents could be showcased. This is the tragedy of the New Monkees--people like me will never know what these guys could have accomplished (though I can guess it would have been fantastic).
Absolutely stunning. Sound far more like music than the hairy electric mess present in the typical episodes. I never quite liked "The New Monkees", but "Affection" and all involved feels genuine.
Yup, thought the Wigs version was much better. Remember the winter of 1988 when I ended up at Marty's house in North Hollywood, proceeded to drink his beer and kick his ass at "Sorry" while Surfin' Joe put the moves on his girl. Needless to say he kicked us all out and Bobby had to drive Joe and I back over the Hills...good times I tell ya!
I loved this song from the moment I heard it. Unfortunately my tape didn't withstand the constant playing and I haven't hear this in years. Thank you so much for putting it up!
Great reverb on this tune! Also yes, I agree very powerful vocal as well! Why was this version not put on the album as a bonus track? Will it ever be available for purchase? I love the moving camera 2 close up in this video as well, overall, just great!
Marty was my second favorite New Monkee (with Larry being first). I always thought he had a great voice and was incredibly talented - and this song proved it.
I had this on VHS, but only the time when this clip ended the show. So the song was interrupted by the WXON announcer promoting the next show up, which was probably "Out of This World" or "She's the Sheriff" or something.
Reading through the posts, I am assuming this is Marty...Overall the lyrics of the song are very dark. Personally, the acoustic version suits it much better than the album version. But it very powerful song. Did you write this? I was curious...
Marty brought this song to the band from his previous band The Wigs. The song was written by their(The Wigs) friend Ken Brown who repaced Marty in The Wigs when he left for the New Monkees.
I have long since lost my copy of this video so you can't imagine how pleased I was to find it. I have to admit that I want the series to come out on DVD just so I can have this video.
I am so happy that there are other people that love this video too. I just found my copies of all the shows and this was my faovorite video from the set.
Does he still perform?
