No, it's not the same kind of amp. BJ is all tube, with good dynamic. SCXD is a modelisation amp, you can have emulation of many amps but there is a lot of compression, especially if you use humbuckers. With SCXD, you have many sounds which are good but not marvellous, with BJ you have one sound but this sound is very good, better than SCXD. Note that BJ is louder and SCXD is easier to use at low volume.
does this amp works well with a pedal ? (pod x3 live...) coz I was planning to buy it but I wont buy a amp that does not go well with a 500 dollar pedal :(
That sounds awesome I'm planning on getting this amp and I was hoping that it would have a good jazz tone. I don't how great it will sound on a strat though. Nice guitar BTW.
Beautifully done lolrotoboy! Both of your SCXD vid posts are fantastic. Loved the snip of the Beatles' "Twist & Shout" (btw-is that a Gretsch you're playing on that one??) Fender should be sending you a commission check, cuz' a lot of folks (myself included) have bought this amp on the strength of your video demos. Cheers - J. :~)
Champ XD better than the Princeton reverb ri?

Get a Peavey w/ tubes...much better for jazzy smooth tones. They don't have the high end annoying treble that Fenders have.
JazzyDave 3 years ago
Which peavey, I am in between amps, going alittle crazy with this stuff, I was thinking of a tech 21 Trademark 60,
Thanks for your time

Thanks Godoftone. It's not a Gretsch but an 1966 Harmony Rocket. ;-)

From the camera angle, it looks like a Gibson ES-335
Carfreak4 3 years ago
That is, for the first guitar.
Carfreak4 3 years ago
That's a Heritage H555 - far superior to any 335 you'll find!

Nice playing and tone! Did you improvise
the jazz part? Are the later riffs from Beatles songs? Thanks.
boyddowst 4 years ago
Thanks, no, the jazz part is "misty". Melody then chords. After, it's "twist and shout" guitar solo from the beatles.
