I think this is the best one of these videos. Great job with them. I've got one of those IHC consolidations and one of their simillar 0-8-0's and the're sweet little engines. IHC did for steam engines what athearn did for diesels. Several diffrent types in dozens of roadnames that run great .Plus the're cheaper than most others.

both. Half DC, half, DCC. If you notice in my overall MRS videos, some engines seem to run on one ring of track more often than the other (inside ring/outside ring)

He can't move al all, because the Rods are connected to the Steam valve in the top cylinder. As the wheels rotate it pulls that rod back and pulls the top cylinder back. To reverse the Locomotive the engineer pulls the Johnson bar it moves the cylinder back to reverse the Locomotive. Miguel can't move.

They aren't called "external Driving rods" Those are Reversing rods; they are attached to the Locomotives Reversing mechanism witch is controlled from the Johnson Rod. They allow the locomotive to change the direction. Without them the Locomotive is unable to move....at all. The Consolidation would be unable to operate.

well, notice that when he doesn't have his timing rods, he only moves in one direction. And if ever needed to go another direction, he could be pulled along by another locomotive.
