Thank you for including the shrill tones of the woman behind. Without her contribution I might actually have herd what our Rudy had to say about this rehash of the SD14 that was announced in September 2008 - with precisely the same spec.
It's as if taking over Foveon closed down the Sigma factory for 17 months!
In that time they could have brought the sensor up to date by at least doubling its capacity.
Hey, I wanted to say something about your comment. Early digital sensors. like the Leaf Volare took 3 6mp images using a color filter wheel which had RGB filters. The camera then stitched the images together for an 18mp image. These images were very high quality and some of the first digital images with resolution appropriate for use in magazines.
The Foveon Sensor works the same way, the 4.4mp sensor has 3 layers. Instead of a grid of rgb squares over the surface.
@PhotographerMN here's from DPreview of the DP2 "The level of detail being rendered is clearly very high and not dissimilar to that of a well-processed image from a camera with a 12mp conventional sensor such as the E-P1. Per-pixel sharpness on the DP2 is way ahead of the E-P1 and even in a large print it seems ulikely that the extra pixels on the Olympus sensor would give you any advantage."
Just because there are more "pixels" doesn't mean in this case that it is any better of a picture.
24-frame buffer is impressive. Now if only they'd add that to the DP2 line.

@unlearny The truth is that it is a low mp Image with the best color ever and you can interpolate it to lager sizes

It's the brand new 85mm f/1.4 yes. 77mm filter on that big front element. It's gorgeous to look at and better to use.
