I have a problem with this too, so you are not alone. I find I leave a huge gap between the sound of "Ll" and the next letter. It just doesn't flow. I'm used to forming American sounds so my mouth just doesn't want to co-operate!
@ hxasmirl... try saying it quickly within a sentence! sure it's easy to do when there aren't 5 other words you need to say right after it as you would in normal speech. ;)
Keep us posted on how you are doing with it. Diolch! :)
LL rules! its in my name..but please get rit of this awful cheesy music! otherwise your Welsh wasn't bad, remember that you don't say 'l' after saying LL, you would've then said LLl. .. which doesn't make sense.i'm glad that you aren't having much trouble with this or you would not have any chance with Treiglo. Most Welsh learners can't treiglo eniwe, they find it abit hard and can't seem to get it when treiglo is supposed to happen.
Diolch am ddysgu ein iaith arbennig o brydferth ni beth bynnag.
Remember that there is NO 'L' sound in the Welsh 'LL.' You are making the correct sound, but then following it with an L sound. On its own 'LL' is like a over-emphasised 'SH'
I've lived in Wales for a year. How do you Welsh people pronounce that LL sound still remains a mystery to me.I didn't seem to be able to master it,never.I'm Polish and we have couple of weird sounds too,but your LL beats them all, honestly :)
Ive been learning since i was 4 and I still cant prounonce it on its own as a 'll' or at the end of a word like Ebrill, but at the beggining is ok lol!
Put your tongue in the same position as for 'l', then force air to flow out on either side of your tongue. Make sure you whisper (turn your voicebox off) when you make the sound. The technical description of the sound is 'voiceless bilateral fricative', which may help??
ok take it from some1 who can speak welsh and lives in wales.. ok lla is prenounced like a radio messup lol so it cant be written down but its prenunced like a radio. so find a radio and turn it on wait till you cant find a frquancy. and it sounds like that
You need to pronounce the A strongly to bring out the double l before. Remember A is pronounced Ahh therefore its like say LLAhhN. This might change according to region but its how I was brought up to learn Welsh in Carmarthen and the surrounding area of Dyfed( Sir Gaerfyrddin now )
at the end of this video.. you spelt 'Diolch' wrong O.o

The noise is very good! All id say is that you shouldnt put so mich emphasis on it, because its actually a very soft sound. Happy learning x

Da iawn, but the trick in welsh is to generally exaggerate the vowel sounds, sure sure to sound like a fluent speaker if you do.
Dal ati!
