Oh yeah! Clapton was truly a predecessor of heavy rock! He could make that Les Paul wail! I love the guitar and harmony in this song. I also like Jack's 6-string Fender bass.
Volume & tone knobs look like the new ones they put on the Les Paul in 1960...so I'd say Clapton is playing a 1960 Gibson Les Paul sun burst with the pick up covers and pickgaurd removed. This was the last run of Les Paul guitars from Gibson...till they started production of this model again in the late 60's.
