  • Funny comment LaramieGal (about nonviolence making you want to hit someone lol)The fact is the mess on TV now makes the shows in the 50s and 60s look like Sunday School plays. At least they fought for a good reason, & good guys won!

  • I agree! And fighting and shooting were appropriate for the old west.

  • hes mean

  • I really admire that Dan Duryea he was a very notorious villian i quote his obituarie posting "the heel with sex appeal"

  • I watched an episode from season 3, what happens to andy and the old guy?

  • Tptb sent Andy off to school after the first season and sent Jonesy with him. I'll never understand why. I loved them as a family.

  • Yay, fisticuffs! :)

Though it's usually more fun when you hit the bad guys, Jess. :p

  • That's coming soon enough. :)

And poor Jess. That look on his face. It just aint fun to hit a man if someone is telling you to.

  • Poor Jess didn't really get to beat up any bad guys in this episode. I suppose it was only fair to let Slim have the fun this time, though. And it's not as though Jess doesn't get plenty of fisticuffs in practically every other episode. :)

They're nicely done fight scenes, too. I'm sure they were all better at that kind of thing back then.

  • Well, he got the drop on Slim, and he did have a nice display of his shooting ability resourcefulness with Pete.

RF looks very natural with a gun.

  • Bob made good fight scenes because he was a stuntman. Until the non-violence movement of the early '70s, a good Western was the best place to find an energetic fight scene. Generally clean, honorable fighting, too.

Dan Duryea was one of THE best villains ever - always a villain you loved to hate.

And Hoagie Carmichael - composer of lovely songs. "Oh me, oh my,.. small fry." :D

  • I couldn't agree more with all of this.

That darn non-violence movement makes me want to hit someone!

  • Hoagy Carmichael and my grandfather were cousins and I have personally met Robert Fuller. Robert Fuller told me that these new age actors cannot do two things and that is ride a horse and draw a holstered pistol. What talent and class of "the good old days!"

  • I'd love to have met HC or RF. I'm sure RF was right. He was certainly a natural with both. Thanks for posting. :)

  • @pipeliner1954 oh! No FAIR!! I want to meet Robert fuller soooo bad!! I think he is one great actor! And I agree with him on that statement! nothing like the good old days of classic actors!
