if i where you i would get arkham asylum first so you can kind of get a feel of the series, enjoy the story and see how it all started out, they're both good games with incredible stories, arkham city's story being much bigger and alot more dark themed, but yes it is a hard game plus arkham asylum is cheaper so maybe you could get arkham city later, plus if u have a ps3 you can play as the joker in challenge maps online in asylum, just some advice
