  • Where can I get a split ring like that? Thanks!!

  • Fenix L2D is okay.

  • L1D and L2D have both been replaced now, but I still love them more than their modern equivalents. Little things lower lumens in the low modes (8 vs 12) are what keep me from upgrading. I bought an L1D in 2008 and recently found stock of an L2D body, tailcap and holster... so I effectively have both. I have the Fenix bike mount for my handlebars, and a Lockblock mount that lets me fix them to my bike helmet. On top of that they are the only EDC lights I'll ever need. Love them to pieces.

  • @GhibliFan1 I liked the alternative anodizations. Olive drab & natural finish.

Maybe one day Fenix will bring them back, they are bringing colors to the E05

  • do a review on a shurefire e2d led defender please.

  • @JMorr1029 I suggest that you see where nutn' has voice his dislike for Surefire's obscene pricing, so I do not think he will be reviewing any Surefires anytime soon.

  • Great video. Going to buy one tomorrow.

  • Left 4 Dead 2, lmao, gamers will know what l'm talking about.

  • I have gone diveing with it in sald water and it did not fail me! Great light!

  • Do mare flashlight reviews!!

  • why don't you do any surefires.......?

  • You know... I thought the diffuser tip was really cool. I showed it to my family and now they think I'm a pervert.

  • 18:50 Is that a diffuser tip in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

  • HEY NUTN PLEASE DO A REVIEW ON THE VALUE OF THE NEW AWSOME MAG-LITE XL100 . I'LL THINK YOULL FIND THEYVE BROUGHT IT TO THE TABLE..

  • jees i bet you could write a book with 200 pages about match...

  • just ordered one of eybay i managed to get them to throw in the light cone and the diffuser

awsum vid dude keep it up

    kind regard

  • my granpa has wacked some guys up with his maglite he might have been the bad guy in that case

  • Great review. I was just wondering if this light comes with a pocket clip or if you can buy a clip for it.

  • lolololol 15:34

  • "knocked some bad guys upside the head with it" as well as some not so bad guys and girls that got knocked upside the head with it or beaten to a bloody pulp with it.

  • want one for sure

  • When are you going to review bullets?

  • Maxpedition has a sale on all Fenix lights - up to 40% off.

  • Regarding the strobe: I sometimes work security at large concerts and I find it very useful to get peoples attention in a crowd.

  • thx for this vid

helped me a lot with the decision which flashlight I should buy. bought it and i´m really happy with it

  • SureFire is no longer 100% American made. Parts are all made in China, then assembled in US

  • I'm pretty sure they're still machined in the US.

  • Damn! I hate it when Americans use china made. I've been loyal to American made products for years because they are simply durable and high quality. I just lost my loyalty to some American products because of degraded quality due to the use of china made materials. This is just upsetting and sad, I think I might divert to German made now.

  • @MrJohnnySummers False..

  • That way thinking may not always get you the best product though. Although I often dislike buying products made in places like Taiwan for example, some of the stuff coming out of these "offshore" countries (such as knives), is getting better and better every year.

  • i'm not harping on quality or american made, i'll buy from whoever

it's more about surefire's reputation and all the dealings i've had with them, excellent quality

  • @fallout3geek Like nutnfancy said about Knives, the origin of manufacturing does not matter as long as the quality is there. It's true there are plenty of junkish "Chinese products" out there, but don't poke you eyes out over an ugly woman

  • super test!

  • just got mine from amazon dropped some premium lithium batteries in it and fired it up wasnt to impressed turbo was about as bright as I was hoping normal would be no biggy still very bright however the tail switch is no longer working (3min after taking out of box) sounds and fells fine just wont come on I can short the neg battery end to the case and the light still works. overall 2 of 5 stars for 50+ bucks should work out of the box going to look around and see if this is a known issue

  • another great review from nutnfancy, i'm going to order one the LD20 in a few minutes.

  • Awesome video nutnfancy, keep on doing what your doing!

  • Update: I just saw a dealer on ebay (8-29) with an olive LD20 with diffuser and batts for $60. I kicking myself for not ordering that one. I live the olive color.

  • Also, the L2D can be had right now on ebay from one dealer for $52, and the LD20 is available from a dealer for $55, and these both include shipping.

I just bought an LD20 there and the guy has 5 left. There are others to be had for $60. Deal Extreme has the L2D right now for $52.08 & includes shipping. The LD20 is $60 there though. Best light for the money for a AA battery flashlight. I have a Surefire & I hate the CR123's. I plan on using only rechargeable batteries.

  • "The LD20 is $60 there though. Best light for the money for a AA battery flashlight." Amazing light and high value one too. My review on this one coming soon! Thanks.

  • how does the l2d compare with the l2t?

  • I think Fenix should pay you for this informative video.

  • great!!!!!!!! flashlight reviews...time for them guns you got

  • whats the difference between the l2d and the ld20

  • I think they only differ in ergonomics

  • Ld20 measures out at 6.26", while the L2d measures out at 5.8". As far as function or capabilities go...who knows??

  • Yes, the LD20 is better than the older L2D. The LD20 has trapezoid threads now and a much better holster. The knurling is better too. It's also supposed to have a removable clip that you use if you want to clip it on a belt or in your pocket instead of using the holster.

And for some reason the run times are better. For instance the L2D shows 1 1/2 hr compared to 2 hr in turbo mode. I don't know why. And the LD20 has an anti-roll hex feature on the body.

  • how u make the video up to 22 mins

  • so can i actually dunk it under water?

  • yeah.

  • well if you watched the video...

it blatantly said yes for 24hours up to 12feet under water it is fine i belive.

  • Hahaha: "Strobe mode... thats for if you want to have a disco in your room man" Nutnfancy is a freaking legend. I just ordered this torch. Cant wait!

  • For this flashlight (or the ld20) do you really have to cycly through to get to the "high" output etc? I dont want to have to cylcle through too high every time i turn it on. Is that true? Or can i turn it off on the high setting then turn it on (and its still on high?)

  • Mine is always on the high setting unless i switch it otherwise

  • Is that "high" setting or "turbo" setting?

  • Buy an pd30

  • Wow just flash the fucking light

  • Do you think you could review the Inova X5?

  • What store can you get the L2D at?

  • Amazon has it, and the new version, the LD20 which can't roll off the table. It's got a shorter runtime on turbo mode but I believe it's similar at other levels.

  • The current version of this light is the LD20 that you can purchase at fenix-store. But the one shown on this video is the previous model, L2D Q5, wich is dicontinued. Although, you can stil find some for buy on E bay or Deal extreme, absolutely new, boxed and genuine, I bought mine there. But there is only a few differences between the old and new model, ands the new one has a better strobe, flick 3x quicker, and a better reflector wich give a MUCH BETTER focused beam.

  • Holy shit ! This crappy Youtube refuse to accept the comment with some words wich point a website ! I can't believe that, what a shit !

So, you can add the usual dot and com after fenix-store, and the 3x w before.

  • I have three main lights I use Surefire L1 DIGITAL CREE SureFire L5 DIGITAL and SureFire M6. A few others but those three do everything I need fromEDC to lighting up a freaking football field. 500 lumen M6

  • I liked the southern twang you through in there a couple times

  • UPDATE: received my L2D a few weeks ago. what a great light. just took it on a 4 day camping trip and it was just a great all around light. the diffuser REALLY makes this light "shine." never needed a lantern. never had any issues with anything -- lithium or NimH batteries.

much thanks for the heads up.

  • I have the TK10 (2 of them), and the PD20 and P1D Q5.

Ok, so I have read some other boards which state some issues with Fenix lights. I had one upon receipt of the PD20. I had to take the light apart and clean it for it to work. I almost sent it back, but on a last ditch attempt to qualify the non-funtion, I took the tail cap unit apart and mess with the switch....most consumers would have sent the light back for sure...but its fixed now. Just a caveat for buyers of Fenix.

  • Thanks, Nutn. I just pulled the trigger on an L2D, along with white and red diffusers, and I also threw in the traffic wand while I was at it. Never know when that might be handy. LED multi-output is the way to go. Now I just need to figure a way to rig it to the side of my boonie hat. (Thanks for the tip on the stock lanyard, too; I'll swap it out for some 550.)

  • you just sold another one to me. i hope yer gettin' commissions. ( I got the diffuser too)

  • Gotta love Dogness!

  • Friggin great video man! However Im from finland and ounces and feet etc dont mean shit to me, everytime you meantion weight or length i have to look it up, thats no problem for me but would be nice if you could maybe mention them both ways in feet and meters or ounces and grams or kilograms. Thanks dont mean to be a pain =) keep up the good work!

  • just noticed you used meters in this video =)

  • I bought a 'like new' one for $35. What's the best way to attach a strap? The one that came with mine looks like it would get eaten throgh. Too good a light to loose because of a broken strung, but the holes are Tiny!!

  • start the damm thing

  • "People devoted their lives to FLASHLIGHTS? " Actually there are many experts in fields like knives, flashlights, guns, etc that provide valuable service to each of those communities. Furthermore they act as consumer advocates and often rally a manufacturer to make and improve cool products just like the L2D. Case in point: KelTec owners forum that created the PF-9 9mm pistol. They can be helpful. We all have varied interests and it falls under the 2nd kind of cool.

  • i can't wait to get one.I have the minimaglight now and it bows down in comparasin lol

  • nutn, sounds like you are picking up an accent in certain spots of this video.

  • thanks nutnfancy! ive used this info for buying my next flashlight. thank you alot!

  • Just got one from amazon $54.. wicked.

  • If people didn't so such things, we wouldn't have such great flashlights on the market today. Same thing for any other kind of products.

  • Awesome vid. I decided to buy it.

  • Based on this video, I decided to order this light. I almost went the cheap walmart LED flashlight, but you convinced me to stick go with this light. Thanks! Your videos rock!

  • I just ordered a LD20 too. Fenix lights are known for their good value for money.

  • Great review, just ordered the LD-20 for its added benefits.

  • yes!! the start of the flashlight vids.

  • Very disappointed in this light. Fell out of my back pocket and ceased working immedietly. Very weak.

  • Agreed on the D-Cell Maglite

Got one in my Bug Out Bag right now

  • Just FYI Nutnfancy, there's a website called 4sevens(dot)com. It's run by the same distributor who runs the fenix store but they changed the name because they started distributing other lights (such as nitecore and olight, which I think are fenix's closest competitors).

  • Picked one up in OD and love it. Thanks for the heads up and great review.

  • Got my Fenix LD20 Q5 a few months back, upgraded from my L2D. If anyone is considering getting a L2D, get the L2D0 instead! Some great functional upgrades.

  • Haha... Donna Summer. "Seriously, dudes." Great vid.

  • ive been looking at LED conversions for mini maglites, anyone know of any good ones?

  • Do you have the same bulb as the large mag? if you do ill tell you how to Make one.

  • I used one from nite ize

  • hey, love your vids, as a lot of people do. I I would love to get my hands on the L2D if i ever got the money. would come in great handy on Fire Dept fire/squad calls. About the strobe: I once talked to a swat-team member about that. He said they have two lights on their guns, a regular, and a strobe. He said that using the strobe really confuses the bad guy, and has saved them from having to shoot many, leading to more arrests. That would be the tactical advantage of it.

  • check out consumer reports, the lithiums didn't hold up so good.

  • Just got my L2D Premium Q5 OD in the mail.... LOVE IT!! I'm So glad i got the diffuser tip for it! even my 3yr old brother likes this light over all my others. thanks for all the reviews and keep up the great work!

  • Does your SOS flash for a few seconds then stop for a few seconds the flash and so on?

  • I have one. It flashes S.O.S., pauses for 5 seconds, then repeats until battery death or switch off.

  • Ok thank you. I thought maybe something was wrong with mine. I love the light though.

  • In all seriousness and this is my opinion of course, I like the tactical momentary on/off endcaps and twist for steady on. The click on that light might not seem so loud now find a dark room and put yourself in a situation where you'd be around the corner from a 'Bad Guy' And click that light. Sounds like a gun blast. Just my opinion.

  • I like clicky switches :D

  • The SOS is a waste. Eveything else is nice, but the prices do seem to be falling and bells/whistles climbing.

  • I'm confused, which one to buy; L2D or LD20?

  • Nutnfancy, when i first got my L2D a year ago i felt that the egronomics were not really good.the texturing is not grippy at all and the button is hard to activate IMO.the new LD20 is the L2D with improved egronomics.better grip, easier clickie access etc.i feel that the LD20 would be more deserving of a 10/10 rating than a L2D.but the L2D is still a great light nonetheless.

  • The truth is out there.

  • LOL... dogness...

  • i always wanted something along the lines of a surefire executive but theyre something like 200 and i just settled with a mag lite quality led fl. however it never met my camping needs so i carried a triple dcell led for camping. i just got my od l2d (chose over p3d because of the batteries) and this suits my day to day use and has a much more concentrated, brighter beam than my triple d! and the battery life is nothing to laugh at. thanks for the 411 man

  • All I gotta say is of course I got the one in OD!!!!!!!!! Another great vid! By the way got the OD on sale for $50 at the fenix store and also used a code from a coupon to lower the price to $46.

  • good stuff man!

  • Sweet action - informative and entertaining as always.

  • you and i coughed at the same time, more than once. it was kind of funny.

  • great light thankyou for the review

  • The nitecore D10 does still have a clicky, yes its the piston but it gives very good feedback to the user and is much quieter then the traditional clicky. Great review nutnfancy!

  • Great Videos Nutnfancy. Im a big fan. You always hit the important pros and cons that I want to know about a piece of gear before I purchase it. I can testify to how good the Fenix L2D is. I have one. So does my father. If your looking for a really good tactical illumination tool though, I would consider the OLight M20 Warrior Premium. I have one and love it. It is more expensive then a Fenix (though still not nearly as much as a Surefire) but is definitely worth it to me. Check it out sometime.

  • yep captainguardian is right, the warrior does kick ass so to say.I like it above my tk-10.and surefire isnt even open for consideration.but unless you use rechargeable batteries the 123's that power the warrior, can be costly.

  • Thanks for the great review of a Fenix light. It makes me feel good about the PD30 I have on order.

  • Also, Most Fenix lights come with a nylon holster if that's an option that would work for you. I can't say enough good things about Fenix. Great bang for the buck.

  • great vids, keep them comin

  • I carry a Fenix P3D Q5 Premium. (It replaced my P2D.) I always keep it in my back pocket next to my wallet. It stays right in place and I don't even notice it's there until I need it. I tried several other lights and carry methods but for my EDC needs this is the winner. I prefer CR123a lights.

  • Does anyone know if there is an available aftermarket pocket clip for this light? What are the carry options available for this light?

  • Those LED light may switch on and off at about 200Hz to save power. Don't know much about whether Fenix L2D does that or not to save bat, mine nonbrand LED flash does.

  • I love my Fenix flashlight, another daily carry item.

  • nutnfancy. The reason there are 2 holes is for the lanyard to figure-8 style through. It should help with the fraying

  • "Clicky switches" lol Dude i love your vids

  • i have a fenix and love it! but i need a surefire since im in the usmc. i mean come on, the damn thing gets run over by a tank and still works! its beam is also perfect!

  • review a cold steel vietnam tomahawk

  • Say...can you combine L1D and a L2D together? I'm just wondering because of what Cutlerylover said. Its just a thought.

  • well I dont think you cna because the regulator can';t ahndle 3 batteries, but thats justa guess, the guys voer at CPF woudl know...

  • Yes, buy the L2D and get the L1D body tube. You can interchange

  • Talk about amazing timing. I was scouting the internet just now for a better flashlight when I decided to go to Youtube to see whats going on. My cat got stuck in a storm drain last weekend and I discovered I needed a better light. I have a maglite but its huge.

btw, cat is home and doing fine. he's my best mouser.

thanx a million for, yet another, great review.

    ~Jo

  • Fenix are really good deals with really high quality materials. Fenix lights are great.

  • I just got the green one and I love it.

  • wow 22 minutes thats the longest i have ever seen

  • Good job man going to get 1 asap keep up the good work.

  • Great video! been waiting a long time for the flashlight reviews haha!

good choice on the LD20 btw, I just got an

    LD30 yesterday, I couldn't be happier.

  • KaBarred

LD30 ????? there is no such thing...sure you did not mean PD30 ???

  • yeah.. my bad, I did mean PD30, sorry about that

  • Awesome review. Just made me order the Fenix LD20.

  • Great job man. Awesome lights, awesome review, as always, you da MAN!!!!

  • I just had a wicked thought. What if you got 5 or 6 of those L1D or L2D's and with the defuser then got rechargeable battery's and a solar battery charger that could lite your house totally off the grid..LOL

  • NUTN FANCY can you by replacement bulbs?? i know they are LED's but what happens if they DO burn out after that 50,000 hours or whatever you said CAN you buy new ones?

  • cheese22092

If the light is defective Fenix will replace the light free of charge "lifetime guarantee" do you plan on leaving the light on continuously for 5.7 years? that is what 50,000 hours equals..

  • you forgot the storage function...By twisting the rear cover slightly you can disable the switch and prevent accidental activation

  • Nice piece of kit. Great review! 5/5

I'll be picking one up for sure. Keep these reviews coming!

  • 50 USD isnt really that much not like sure fire but i think ill keep my mag it makes a good blunt weapon

  • yeah for legal reasons a C or D cell maglite makes a good self defence weapon as it's not a legally a weapon.

However if you can legally carry a retractable battern , you're better of with a nice small but powerful torch like this one.

  • The strobe feature could be useful in countering enemy night vision. I imagine it'd be difficult for NV devices to adjust to something that bright flaring on and off.

  • The strobe is better used in an emergency situation where you are trying to lead someone to your position. Most miners lights have a strobe function.

  • NICE! I was about to ask if there were mounts for guns! Or was that a ghetto rigging on the Ruger?

  • REALLY like that OD coloration on the Fenix but all my other gear is black so...

  • 4sevens is a good website for these and others.

  • Love the videos! After watching scores of your vids, this is the first time I have felt that I have something to comment on. Serviceability. If and when the digital elements of the Fenix "melts down" it will turn into a paper weight. With an "analog" flashlight,if it fails, I could probably get it running again with a paper clip or something. Maybe worth mentioning, maybe not. Keep up the great work!

  • fenix-store has them. Use code PRIORITY25 at checkout. Final price is $37.56 with free priority shipping

  • hahaha "that is if u wanna have a disco in ur room or so"

Nice review been waiting for this, i have the LD20 and i love it :D

    Thanks again keep them comming

  • Thank you!! So happy to see this. Keep up the amazing work on the project!

  • Love this flashlight. I have the p1d ce and the l2d ce - I use them on my bike as a headlight and tailight. I've used them for about a year and a half now every single day, and they have held up perfectly through rain, cold, heat, etc.

    Good review

  • GREAT VIDEO! I have the L1D Q5 and was thinking about getting this bigger model.

  • Very awesome light, I want one.

  • Hey we had that L2D flashlight but it was stolen in Africa for whatever reason, anyway, nice vid ;)

  • Thanks for this dude, definitely going to buy one when I get some money together.

  • Thanks for the review... I have been waiting for this one.

  • lol yes! first comment :D yeah you do gotta do some contact reviews... L2D looks like a good flash light too use :) going to test it out :) And yeah go ahead with the thumbs down thing about me saying first comment haha... Relaxe it's only fun :)
