  • I have a band and we r going to do this song...but I hope we do it proud...

  • One of my favourite Tilly Songs.

  • i REALLY like this song. :)

  • I've always been somewhat confused by the "19,000 pages" line. His work was actually a little over 15,000 and the watercolors he made only totalled a couple hundred. At the most, his work was most likely about 16,000 pages. I guess we'll never know, though. Great song, great referrence. :)

  • Her voice is so pretty (:

  • ♥ it

  • You can use Anyvideoconverter. It has a youtube download in it.

  • My favorite Tilly & the Wall song :)

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥(not my absolute favorite though--i love all their songs)♥♥♥♥♥♥(this song and--)♥♥♥♥(tilly & the wall)♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • heyyy.

by chance does anyone know the meaning behind this song? i'm guessing theres some story behind it.. but maybe not. i've been interested in finding that out since its one of my favourite songs by far.

    =D

  • Wikipedia Henry Darger, then scroll down to the section "Darger in Popular Culture". The song is about a series of paintings by him called The Vivian Girls.

  • seriously? it's about relationships and living

  • It alludes to Henry Darger's "The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinnian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion". Perhaps the whole song is not about the work itself, but it definitely uses it to draw themes out about growing up and relationships.

The Vivian girls are part of Henry Darger's stories and illustrations and the 19000 pages line is in direct correlation with how many pages Darger's work is.

  • @sophiebittle That is really fascinating! I am definitely looking into that! thanks!

  • @sophiebittle Ah nice. Thanks for the informative comment.

  • @sophiebittle I was very sad when I realized I couldn't actually READ the Story of the Vivian Girls. I know it's long but I would've read it because this is my favorite song in the world right now.

But it is a beautiful song and it's remarkable how they did it.

    :)

  • @TravisBensonMusic

Yeah, it's too bad. Most of the books on the subject are also either out of print or really expensive, but you should watch the documentary :)

  • @sophiebittle I definitely will! :D

  • join the club;) i´ll find out :D

  • there is an erotic novel called lost girls.. i heard from somewhere it was based off of that.. i doubt it though..

to me, it just means that life can be confusing and hard, and you need to keep connected to other people in order to say alive, i suppose.

  • i love this song! it's deff. my favorite!

  • Wow loved this thanks for posting
