No. As long as you make sure your collection receptacle was free of contaminated water during the entire process, there should be no need to purify the condensate that collects in the receptacle.
Thanks for your question. If there is a decent water source, then the vegetation would not be necessary. The vegetation is used when you water source is very low or absent. With an abundant water source (such as the sea, or a lot of what you believe to be contaminated water) the still would have all it needs to produce potable water -- provided you have decent high temps and sunshine.

if you have a water source would you still wanna use the vegetation?
because if you left the plant material in too long it would get rotten end start to smell really bad.
that is after 2 or 3 days though
