I always thought they should name solo albums (Kevin's) Lollygagging and (Lol's) Ungodley. Nobody listens to me. It's great to see them interviewed! Living in the US, I don't think I ever heard them talk before.
...and while I'm here someone do a YouTube search for "10 cc david bowie". At the top of the list is a true MYSTERY song that SEEMS to incorporate the instrumental parts of "I'm Not in Love". Can anyone tell me who the hell this IS? It's actually a beautiful little tune. I'll buy you a beer if you solve the mystery.
Wonder whatever happened to the Gizmo? It really added such a distinctive sound to the original 10cc. Does anyone know if any other bands or musicians ever used it?
John McGeogh played it on Siouxsie & The Banshees' "juju" album, and I'm sure Andy Summers is playing one on the choruses of The Police's "Invisible Sun".
Ryomei Shirai of Japanese band Moonriders bought one (I know, "WHO??"). Not sure if he ever used it on record but the band definitely had a bit of 10cc to them.
I think the E-bow does the same thing, and I hope I'm wrong on this, but it may mean that Godley and Creme left 10cc for a device that was eventually replaced by a more sophisticated design. I might do a little research and find out what the deal is. And that fucking track of "An Englishman.." in the background that's actually in the forground at times is unnecessary and intrusive. What, did they think the interview wouldn't be as interesting without one of their songs playing??
Around late '79/early '80, Kev & Lol made mime-in-studio vid clips of Freeze Frame & Mugshots that were shown on The Old Grey Withered Tits. Has anyone got them? (The vids, I mean, not the tits.)
Cool interview but what the ..... @ 3:10 to 3:13. And what's with the song playing so loudly ? You can barely discern what they say in some parts. Whoever produced that should've been fired
And of course I am jealous of that little gizmo thing that ended the first 10cc era, but I know that these guys did what they had to do with all their skills in graphic design leading to video producing. Nice to hear their voices and see Lol constantly smiling and Kev so serious.
strange indeed .

Lol is a common abbreviation of Lawrence. His full name is Lawrence Neil Creme .

lol i did not know that!

His nickname was "Lolagon" so that's probably why the "Lol" stuck.

Love it! The interviewer's reaction shots are hilarious! She looks terrified.
But, at the risk of sounding like famed record producer Bruce Dickinson, I couldda done with a little more xylophone.

Very interesting and unusual. There's a detached feeling here. Perhaps the cutaways to the interviewer were shot on a completely different day.

Coolest interview ever! I don't think this interviewer knows what to make of them, or them of her, hehe. Thanks Ann.
