  • Simply beautiful - thank you for the translation on this video. I have just watched the whole thing in Brazilian - ! couldn't understand a word hardly but it was so much more emotional and passionate and that's what mattered most to me!!! Thanks again! :-)

  • Aew gringaiada morram de inveja,... Senna era brazileiro !

  • Ayrton Senna the god of F1,fantastic R.I.P.

  • Man, actually i see me thinking in Senna alive today, old and fat, talking about his time driving cars. Man, i almost cry when i think this genius died 17 years ago. A genius, Idol, Master ... an exemple. I can't resist this missing felling .... !!

Senna, you are the greatest driver that ever lived. You got, you have made your dreamming true. Congratulations, my friend. I'll never forget you, and mi children will know your feats. Thank you for your exemple, for your life.

  • I never lived to watch him race, but I forever wish I did. Same for Prost, Mansell, Damon Hill's beginnings, Patrese, Berger, etc. Extraordinary men who had balls the size of coconuts. Love it. Not to compare Lewis to Ayrton, but Lewis is one of the few who still takes chances on the track, besides Alonso, Kubica, and Kobayashi.

  • I never understood the reason for having complicated rules to decide the outcome of the championship. In a straight points tally comparison Prost beat Senna 105 points to 94. I never liked this best 9 results, or best 11 results nonsense. Winning a world championship should take consistency and reliability into account as well as the best results.

  • @cpande1

I did not much like the point system, but it is important to remember that the only thing Prost did was fail to win under the rules of that season - period.

Things change all the time. It used to be 9 points for a win and 6 for 2nd. Then 10 - 6. Today its 25- 18 (more like 10 - 7.2) with points to top 10 instead of top 6. I bet you could re-evaluate many past results using a system employed at a different time.

  • Who would win between Gilles and Ayrton ... well .. it does not I'll never know

  • Awesme video, Many thanks for that!!!

  • Wow the level of ignorance by some.....Schumacher has 68 poles with 100 more races, the actual statistical figure of most poles for Senna is bigger than Schumacher's...

    However who cares about numbers.

Senna could do things out there that were unimaginable for most, and for those that have seen him live he is the best ever.

Take your numbers and championships someplace else.

The legacy of Senna goes beyond numbers and statistics,it's about car driver unison, about aggression

    ,passion and pure skill

  • @arhavlisj Congratulations for your comment. It captures exactly why Senna is simply the best of them all: pure skill.

  • Please don`t coment about themes you don`t undertsand, don`t show how stupid you are.

  • his steering whell broke at tamburelo, and he goes to the wall....don't talk bullshit about facts you don't know. How can you drive a car without the steer whell?????

  • @TheMazaro remember this my friend...if you need back up...Tell them this..when has Ayrton Senna ever given up on a corner so fast and slammed on the brakes...he slammed on the brakes 2 tenths in because he no longer has steering.....If it was a slide..Senna would have tried go correct it...he couldn't becasue there was no wheel......

  • @TheMazaro

Yeah, I suppose everybody else that went off at Tamburello also ALL had their steering wheel broken off.

Berger crashed there in 1989 and was lucky he wasn't killed. Michele Alboreto crashed there in 1991 and Riccardo Patrese in 1992. Barrichello crashed there in 1994 in the very same weekend and was unconscious. Roland Raztenberger crashed and died in a practice session.

How can you think without a brain you paranoid loon? Think 9/11 was an inside job too??

  • What a bullshit!!!! The steering column had broken, and he goes in a straight line into the wall!!!!!!! How can he escape from that????? Over 200Km/h!!!!!! I can't believe that some people is still saying bullshits like that, whit all the information that Internet provides.

  • @TheMazaro

Berger crashed in Tamburello in 89. Accident.

Alboreto crashed in Tamburello in 91. Accident.

Patrese crashed in Tamburello in 92. Accident.

Barrichello crashed in Tamburello in 94. Accident.

Roland Ratzenberger dies in training for the 94 San Marino GP in Imola. Accident.

Senna crashed and died in Tamburello in 94. NOT accident??

    You are an idiot.

Not a single driver has ever died driving a Williams and now you think the steering column broke in the most dangerous corner?? Idiot

  • @McLarenMercedes First of all: YOU ARE A FUCKIN IDIOT. Giveme some respect you piece of shit!!! And I'm not THINKING that the steering column had broken, THAT'S WHAT SAID THE ITALIAN JUSTICE IN 2007, and Patrick Head was condened for it, but never arrested. This kind of process loses its criminal value after a certain time in Italy.

  • @McLarenMercedes And another thing: Barrichello didn't crash at Tamburello, he crash in another corner making a mistake. All the other drivers you said SPIN BEFORE CRASH, but Senna don't, he goes into the wall in a straight line!!!!!! You need more study and more education. Just Google "Senna's trial 2007", read about it, and then we can talk.

  • milencooler i love your final shot with senna eyes closed and fist raised!

  • thanks by your comment. anyway, i didn´t make it (i don´t have toolf for it), it is from the original TV editing, I just subtittled it in english (or something that soundslike it...)

  • what language is Ayrton speaking in his interview

  • it´s portuguese...

  • I was 16 years old, about 2 am,,,,,,,,I jumped I ran around the house crazy....this is my NUBMER ONE Senna moment....I love you, I miss you and I have always believed you are the best...RIP my hero

  • I know what you mean I felt the same way after Hungary 89 & Silverstone 91.

  • are you trying to be funny?

  • tan tan tan!!! i love the music, we are all from south america, the most beautiful land in the world with the most beautiful people too.

  • Buggable, other detale...We need compare positions???Barrichello wins in germany 2000 when rain very much in the track, and he win and was the fastest in the race with DRY, i say DRY TIRES...SORRY...

  • But SPA was not the race from he can be world champion no? Hehehe

  • This is the difference from Ayrton and Schumacher. Schumacher don't go in 15to 1th and win! Senna the best!

  • Spa 1995: Schumacher's grid position was 16th. He won the race almost 20 seconds ahead of the 2nd Damon Hill!

  • come on bnrotha, schumacher is an awesome pilot but how you can compare damon hill with alain prost?!

  • Alain Prost had really weak races (especially when it rained) and Hill had some pretty good races. But overall Prost was definitely better than Hill. The 1988 McLaren was in a different world. So Senna and Prost basically raced against each other throughout the season. So ploughing thru the field from P 15 is not that hard (especially for a driver as aggressive as Senna).

  • SENNA and DAMON HILL are by far better than Scumi!!!

  • Right. And Schumacher had a rival like Prost? No. Schumacher is a very good pilot and one of the greatests but dont try to compare with Senna. Senna took milk from a stone, the pole position record he has made proves it.

Schumacher was very luck with Sennas death to win all his 7 championships, otherwise the history would be very different.

  • Senna and Schumacher were special. Maybe even equal. Schumacher beat Prost in his superior Williams in 1993 (so did Senna) and in 1994 he put a whole lot of pressure on Senna, too. Schumacher won some races in a matter only Senna showed before. Ferrari wouldn't have won a race in 1996 without the brilliance of Schumacher. He degraded drivers in the rain! So did Senna.

  • So when Jenson Button wins 12 races this year in a Brawn design car, what does that say about Schuey...When Senna left Lotus..never won another race..MClaren..3 years...when Schuey left Ferrari,,,whey didn't miss a step. Schuey was a product of Ross Brawn from day 1

  • oilysocker, Senna had for two years(88,89) the best car in grid, in his entire career, but this didnt make things easier for him, cause he had Prost as rival.

Schumacher had the best car for many years and competing with inferior pilots, from the same team and from others teams.

Prost, at the beggining of his career drove with Nik Lauda the actual champion, both in Mclaren. Prost beated Lauda in all races at qualify. With Senna he lost 26 to 4. Senna made pole positions ith inferior cars.

  • i agree totally with what u said, and Schumacher on the other hand was always teamed up with inferior drivers like Barrichello, Massa, Herbert, Irvine, and this year with Rosberg. But Massa on some occasions in 06 beat schumacher for pole and the race in turkey and brazil. But the other drivers are inferior to Schumacher but not inferior drivers overall. So Senna raced against another WC in the same car which brought out his pure skill and showed who was really best, and the best was Senna.

  • If Senna didnßt die, i think Schumacher wouldn´´t beat the record of Senna-Poles, and see how long it took for Schumacher to get it!!!

And by the way, Schumacher was a good driver too, but if you put him in a Toleman-Car in Wet Conditions in Monaco with manual Transmision!!!, i don´t think Schumacher could beat a McLaren at these Times like Senna did. Senna will be the Best Driver ever!!!

  • In 1988 Senna wins his first world title and 20 years later Massa turn to be champion in 2008.

  • Massa must be champion. I hate Lewis Hamilton! The best racer in the world is Senna!

  • suck that prost

  • kkkkk Turboman this is not porno music ... kkk

This is the music that used to play on TV (in Brazil) when Senna won the race! Every time he wins a race, that song plays ... good old times ... Senna was the best!

  • this music still being used , every brazilian drver that wins a race in F1... they play that song

  • Great Man.. If Lewis had had the same determination last year at the end he could have done it.. didn't help that Mclaren left him out on crap tyres mind you.

  • Ron Denis looks so youthfull..

  • Garra, talento, determinação são alguns atributos que fizeram de Senna o melhor piloto de todos os tempos. O "Rain master", sem sobra de dúvidas jamais existirá um piloto melhor em chuva. Ayrton Inesquecível.

  • The best, very good person and driver.

  • This was, in a lot of respects, as great a drive as Donington '93. He had to pass 15 cars and the last of them in equal machinery with a double world champion (at the time) driving it. But then again, this is Ayrton Senna we're talking about. We'll never see his likes again...

  • You bet mate. Can you imagine (let's supese Alonso and Hamilton are driving in the same team) Hamilton doing the same thing nowadays? I mean, to overtake 15 cars PLUS Alonso in the SAME CAR? LOL! I fuckin' doubt it.

  • You do realise that today's F1 cars are more.... far far more aerodynamically sensitive than the cars of the 80's? It seems you don't, or you wouldn't sound like an absolute idiot.

  • such an amazing driver

  • pew pew pew pew pew BRAZIL

  • God bless Ayrton Senna - the greatest F1 pilot of all time...he was also a great man. What I would give to see him race again in person!

The best driver ever!

  • Tat waz typical Senna could do anything weneva he wanted 2

  • 2007 está aí... Massa vem com tudo pra repetir a glória vivida por Senna em 1988..

  • Fica para 2008.

  • Na página 1 tem a resposta.

  • A wonderful memory and it was so good to hear Senna's victory theme again. Thank you very much.

  • Hey ein071 this song is from a brazilian composer and it's known as Senna's "victory theme". Look for "tema da vitoria" for whole song.

  • So smooth! Not so much as a wiggle. The only movement you can see is when the car hits a bump and even that's smooth!

Those cars were so open back then, do you think Senna would have been happy couped up in the ones after his passing?

  • That's a 60s radio sound effect used in FIFA World Cup... Pretty strange but full of significance

  • brilliant! All Brazilians have such passion! Love the music and strange ray-gun sound effects!

  • Haha! Totally 80's South American! Does the screen look stretched or were the cars really that low & wide back then?

  • I think it is a bit stretched. Though I think they were lower and wider then too! Great stuff!

  • They were much lower and wider, yes.
