does it make a difference in the life expectancy of the cymbal which way you have it positioned? the right side up or bottom? Which one makes it last longer?? Awesome zoom q3 by the way! I love mine. :)
@shockwave2468 it depends. Most people who have their chinese cymbals the right way up (un-inverted) would be using said cymbal for jazz or lighter playing styles, if only to save breaking sticks on the flange. In this case having it un-inverted would mean it would last a lot longer as it wouldn't be being hit very hard. However, this particular chinese cymbal is made for loud accents. If played carefully, un-inverted would still offer better durability (due to it hanging under the bell) but
@shockwave2468 [cont. from under the bell) but, you would break a load more sticks! So, this cymbal would be better to play inverted, simply to save sticks. If you use it as a loud, agressive cymbal inverted you would still be putting alot of pressure on the flange, but not as much as if it were un-inverted. You would also, when inverted, be putting a lot of pressure on the bell as the weight is hanging above it. either way, if you use correct technique it will last for ages!
@hardcorefool13 its a thicker cymbal in the aax line which would usually mean it doesnt work as well in quiter situations but sabian build 'dynamic focus response' into their aax series, boasting the same responsiveness at all dynamics.
Sounds awesome! Not to sound rude or like I'm criticizing you, but why do you play it upside right? Or at least it looks like it based on the extremely faded Sabian logo, I'm sure you know that's bad for the cymbal and your sticks.
@WhenxChristxReturnsx hey man thanks alot for watching! i usually use my china inverted but i thought some people might want to here it the right way up too. chinas were afterall originally intended as exotic rides. and the fading is from cleaning it way too hard lol!
@dave90mckeague Anytime, I enjoyed the video. Hmm that's a good idea. Yes that's true. You should hear what a Wuhan 27" china sounds like if you ride it :D I like to ride my china sometimes. Ohhh ok! That's one thing that stinks about cymbal polish is it wears away at the logos :( But yes, it's very shiny!
@tttmmmnnnttt they are different cymbals yeah. if you check the sabian site it shows both the normal and the xtreme chinese cymbals in the aax section.
@tttmmmnnnttt if you like the sound of this one i'd defo go for it. the normal aax is slightly softer in attack, and probably more versatile. but if you're a hard hitter or want that ultimate rock china sound, get the xtreme
@Salzcamino true, but its great for what he needs. that trashy, white noise, aggressive kinda sound. plus when i saw him live he was using a custom 18" aaxtreme
Thecond way it was set up is the proper way!

Do the world a favor, and quit drumming. Why do you have the cymbal upside down?
Oh, and you're a terrible player too.

@metaldrummer47 do all of them use the natural finish or the brilliant finish of this cymbal?
1313nathan1313 1 year ago
@1313nathan1313 i think this cymbal is only available in brilliant finish on the production line although i know sabian will do either if you ask.
dave90mckeague 1 year ago
@1313nathan1313 They come in both. Brill or Natural

hey, do you know the sabian AAX Metal Crash? is that loud? or can you also play really low with it?
hardcorefool13 1 year ago
@hardcorefool13 its a thicker cymbal in the aax line which would usually mean it doesnt work as well in quiter situations but sabian build 'dynamic focus response' into their aax series, boasting the same responsiveness at all dynamics.

@dave90mckeague usually those thick metal crashes sound really good as a crash/ride

hey one more question:
-Sabian AAX-Treme China
-Sabian AAX China
are these the same cymbals?? cause on a i saw an AAX-treme china for 250 euros,
but at another site i saw an AAX china for 210 euros..
thats a lot of price difference.. they both look exactly the same and were both 19 inch...
im not sure, but are they the same cymbals?
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
@dave90mckeague
the only difference was the name:
one of them was an AAX-Treme
the other one was just AAX..
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
@tttmmmnnnttt they are different cymbals yeah. if you check the sabian site it shows both the normal and the xtreme chinese cymbals in the aax section.

yeah, ill go for this one..
im really a hard hitter!
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
@tttmmmnnnttt although they dont make a 19" normal aax china...
maybe the listing was wrong and they were infact both xtreme's
dave90mckeague 1 year ago
oh ok!
but which one do u think i should get?
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
the normal aax or the xtreme?
